Chef Sāsha Coleman Presents: FRIED HARD at Comfort Kitchen For Juneteenth 2025, please welcome Chef Sāsha Coleman back to Comfort Kitchen, as she guides us through a coursed dinner celebrating the power and joy of Black foodways on this national holiday! Limited to one seating, guests will be invited to learn more about Juneteenth and its importance to society today, with a special performance by three time Boston Music Award Winner Amanda Shea and libations by the illustrious Comfort Kitchen beverage team. The African American culinary tradition is one steeped in ancestral remembrance and reverence, a passionate, deeply personal process of aligning the present body with spiritual memory. Cooking is both love and labor, a tribute to our forbears who built America in the kitchen. Boston born and raised, Sāsha's culinary beginnings were passed down to her from her grandmother, who moved her family to Boston during The Great Migration. Her grandfather owned a bar and grill in the South End, once a community rich in Black entrepreneurship and population; her father a talented chef in time as well. From fish trucks to fine dining, to food styling and back, Sāsha has shared her talents with some of the top chefs in Boston and the country, and is one of the most exciting new voices in hospitality as she continues to hone her craft in community. The Fire Table is a one-night Thai feast where everything touches flame. We’re taking over the patio at Comfort Kitchen and firing up the charcoal grill—no gas, no shortcuts. Just smoke, heat, and the deep, rich flavor that only real fire can give. In Thai cooking, fire isn’t a tool—it’s a tradition. From smoky street-side skewers to whole fish roasted in salt, flame is part of the soul of the dish. This dinner pays tribute to that spirit. Limited seats. One patio. All smoke. All flavor. This is The Fire Table: primal, fragrant, loud, and joyful. We’ll be grilling live outside, so you can watch (and smell) the magic. If it rains, we move inside—but the fire doesn’t stop. After our seated coursed dinner, Chef Sāsha Coleman has invited us all to kickback in the Garden at CK to the sounds of DJ Bobby Bangers from 9pm to midnight! Now since we know it ain't a cookout without food (tragic), we're slinging hot fried fish sandwiches and cold beers from one of our favorite Black-owned breweries, Brockton Beer Company! There will be sides, too...and we promise, no raisins in the potato salad shall pass through these doors. Tickets include one hot fish sammich and a cold beer. Sides and more drinks a la carte. Though only recently recognized as a federal holiday, generations of African Americans have come together on June 19th to celebrate the legacies of our ancestors; finding joy in the resistance a hallmark of African American culture. We raise our flags and red cups on this day, coming together to break bread, reconnect with family, and preserve tradition.
