Comfort. A Southern Bistro
Good place. Friendly staff. Tables not on top of each other.
It was a great place for Sunday Brunch after church!
Food is good. They were a little understaffed for Father's Day but very nice and apologized for the delay.
The food and service was wonderful. We had 3 children in the party and they were excited about their menu options-much more than the normal chicken tenders/grilled cheese. All of our food was exceptional. The only draw-back for date night is the café ambiance, but the food more than makes up.
Outstanding. Menu is broad, but not too big. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Excellent Mother's Day brunch experience.
The atmosphere walking in was nice, and the staff immediately greeted us with a genuine smile. The food came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious! We have already recommended this place to our friends and family!
A very good restaurant in Lakewood area of Jacksonville. Have just been for lunch several times so these comments relate to lunch. Good food with many choices.
We were there with a group. I called several weeks in advance to be told they only do reservations through Open Table. Open table would not let us make a reservation for more than 8 at 11am. We had almost 20, so I decided to wait until the day before to place another call to the restaurant. Spoke with Chef Lacy and she could not have been more congenial accepting the change in our reservation. When we arrived there was a table set for us down the center of the restaurant and every one was happy and well fed. Our server, Cassie, did an excellent job of keeping our drinks and food orders organized.
I had the Tomato Pie, it was out of this world good, I could have eaten the entire pie! My husband had the Fried Pimento and Cheese Salad and he raved equally about how unusual and yummy it was. Another guest had a cheeseburger and he said it was prepared to perfection.
We'll be back again! Yum! Yum!
The food and service were excellent. However, the bill was much higher than expected (more than $50 for 2 adults and 2 kids at brunch). This was due to the high cost of the beverages, which were not even included or specially priced for the kid's meals (not to mention that coffee was $3). Again, great food, but too pricey for a young family's budget.
Great local find. Memu has unique items and definitely hits the "comfort" spot!
Comfort is absolutely amazing! They have some of the best fried chicken I have ever had, and Jean is an amazing server! On this night in particular, we had the displeasure of getting a different server who was horrible. Ask for Jean, you won’t be disappointed!
Good is yummy and well priced. Will look forward to my next visit.
Party of 8 for mother’s day. It was crowded. Service was good but not perfect which was understandable given the crowd. 7 out of 8 loved their meal. The skillet omelet was the only fail - very overdone and cast iron made the eggs turn gray color. Not very appetizing. Family loved the chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict and eggs to order.
Love this place! Fried chicken is amazing :)
Had the "maximum comfort" dish! I am not a "big" salt eater but a little would have been fine (very bland). I expected some fluffy pancakes but received very thin pancakes. Eggs were scambled too hard even though I ask for scambled light. I understand that they are new but improvement is needed. Our server was a nice lady but waitressing is not her strong suit. Other than our food and service, the ambience and cleanliness of the restaurant were very good.
Absolutely delicious! Comfort food at it’s best. I would definitely recommend and give it high marks.
The food was delicious. The decor was a little plain but it was clean. Many thanks for a good experience.
Amazing southern comfort food like my Gigi used to make!
Amazing! This might be my new favorite restaurant. I enjoyed a delicious fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich. So decadent and delicious. Eveything was prefect: nicely breaded green tomato, perfect amount of pimento cheese, and insanely good Texas toast. I need to go back and order this epic sandwich. I loved the touches of Southern Charm, including the boiled peanuts as complimentary starter. Good beer list. Great place for a casual dinner on the South Side.
Food was cold. Biscuits were hard as a rock. Terribly over priced!
Comfort. Was a great experience. We started out with the biscuit board which had several different flavors to enhance your biscuit (pimento, maple bacon butter, blueberry jam, southwestern flavored butter, pickled veggies & sugared pecans!
The dinners were also very good. The banana pudding was soooo good!!
Good food friendly service and reasonable prices. We will go again.
Comfort is a perfectly adequate restaurant for casual dining. It is not, however, of particular distinction. The menu captures well several aspects of southern comfort cooking - the chicken-fried steak is a perfect example, but the cooking itself of below expectations. The grits in the shrimp-and-grits entree, was dried out and clumpy
Diner atmosphere. Bright lights. Denny’s, or Puzza Hut or here. Maybe good with kids.
This was our first visit to Comfort.......we will definitely go again and again. Best Shrimp and Grits I have ever had! And the fried green tomatoes were wonderful! Brought banana pudding home for a treat. It was enough for 2 and so yummy.
I can't wait to go again. I plan to try the fried chicken. My friend says it's fabulous.
Definitely try this place!
this is the perfect neighborhood cafe! The servers are so knowledgeable and the food is just great. I've enjoyed everything I've tried there to date. I've recommended the Bistro to friends and several have been to try it out and loved it also. Keep up the good work, serving wonderful Comfort Foods!
The seafood salad was recommended to me by my server and every bite was on-point and delicious. Complimentary boiled peanuts were also tasty. Dessert selection looked great.i had banana pudding, which boasted real whipped cream, not that fake white whip. I enjoyed my meal a lot.
Wife and I dined there and we thought that the menu was very limited and that the prices were a little on the high side. The food was good and it is differently comfort food. The crab cakes were really good. Would go back for the crab cakes.
Their Menu was exactly what was needed after Hurricane Irma! Delicious COMFORT food!
