Mr. Lombardi practically invented hospitality, and it is evident the moment you enter Come Prima. The ambiance, service, and of course the food, add up to an evening you won't soon forget.
And best of all, Salvatore won't forget you.

My new favorite restaurant!
My first time here the owner Salvatore was very inviting and nice as was the staff.
This is my friend's favorite restaurant in NY. When she lived here, we went several times. Now that she only visits NY, we make sure to have a meal here every time. Never disappoints
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in NYC, Salvatore is a great host, an excellent menu always. Try the veal, the branzino or any of the pastas!
We Had a wonderful experience. The Food was great! The Wine List is terrific. The waitstaff was attentive but not overbearing. We Will return.
The service was not great and the food was not good and super expensive, we spent $300 for two and it was terrible disappointing.
Tasty tough pricy Italian food in a chic ambiance.
Service is nice and precise.
Overall good experience but you could expect more value for money.
Very good service and the food was OK, but pricey for what we were served.
ALWAYS SUCH AN ENJOYABLE EVENING, EVERYONE LOVED IT
The high point was the food. Salads, pastas and fish dishes were all excellent. Something about the service and the ambience wasn't quite clicking -- it may have been that the pretty but shrill folks at a neighboring table were sucking up all the oxygen. It's pricey: nearly $500 for four with tax and tip and a very modest beverage tab. (The wine choices were limited and the markups vertiginous, so we stuck with cocktails.)
Excellent food. Expensive. A la carte menu. Nice room. Empty for Friday lunch from 12:45 to 2:15. Unenthusiastic but good service. Do try.
We made a reservation for New Year’s Eve and apparently there was a system error and our reservation wasn’t supposed to have been accepted. We found out when we got there and had to wait 35-40 minutes for a table. Normally we would’ve left but we had no choice being the night of New Year’s. We didn’t even get an apology. Actually, they were bothered by the fact that we didn’t include a baby in the reservation. We had to push our new year plans because of this mistake and their lack of consideration was astonishing. Food is good but pricy.
We chanced on Come Prima using OT and were delighted with our find. The staff was courteous and engaging, the food was delicious and just as described. Excellent cannolis. Enough without being too much.
Solicitous hots, professional staff, well prepared food. Expensive
EXCELLENT SERVICE! Treated beautifully from the moment we entered the restaurant through our delicious meal! A wonderful neighborhood gem.
Excellent food and service
Consistently fabulous food and great service.
Birthday. Great food and friendly.
The food is wonderful, service was attentive, the atmosphere was totally classy and comfortable. Great evening.
Always a winner. Personal feeling service; great food, wonderful ambiance! Bravo
Love the restaurant.
Food very good , atmosphere great service great!!!
Excellent Italian food served in a most sophisticated setting. It's a bit pricey - but still reasonable for Madison Avenue. It's nice and quiet at lunch time.
Lovely space with excellent service. Delicious Italian cuisine and a great wine list. Five star experience.
We love it here. Friendly. menu is varied and delish.
wonderful in every regard! you are transported to a different time and place- food is spectacular with an attentive and available wait staff who are intimately familiar with the menu. Salvatore is the ultimate NYC host / front of house man in the business. If with family or business or simply out with friends NO BETTER PLACE on the east side!
A wonderful restaurant with amazing food, top notch service and a beautiful atmosphere where you can hear the person sitting next to you. I highly recommend
Seated 35 minutes late, next to the door (with door opening every 5 minutes, waiters going out to smoke), security alarm rang for 10 minutes before the manager disabled it. Service was beyond poor, bread was stale and dry, pasta and appetizers were mediocre, though pricing was insanely inflated for what they delivered. One of the worst experiences in NY in years, scoring in the worst quadrant on price/quality in recent memory. Avoid this place if you can.
I only have great things to say about Come Prima. The service was great, staff was very attentive and friendly. Everything we ordered was terrific.
Fabulous food. Continental style. Upper East Side chic meets Manhattan media.
This is a quaint, intimate neighborhood restaurant on the Upper East Side. The staff - from the bar to the table - made us feel at home and took great care of our party. The food was incredible. I will be back!
Our new go to restaurant for truly wonderful Italian food, old world and contemporary all at once. Outstanding menu, food, service. As if we were in Italy.
The food is great and the service is of another time, so lovely.
As always, a wonderful evening.
Will never go back
Food is poor and overpriced! The smallest plates of beef carpaccio I have ever seen. $30 a plate! The breasola plate was twice the size. It seemed that the restaurant was running out of beef. The "special" pasta was Black ink linguini with lobster Fra Diavolo. It was bland, no hint of spice. Mushy pasta! The lobster tail was cold and dry, probably cooked the day before and kept in refrigerator. $56 a plate!
There are few excellent italian restaurants in the area for the same price. This one is a joke.
Very comfortable experience

We received excellent service and appreciated the chance to visit in a quiet environment. The food was superb, including desert.
Our second time eating at this resturant. We live out of state and look forward to enjoying a meal here. The staff are very friendly and and the food is excellent. Salvatore is always very friendly and is over seeing the operation carefully.
It was the day before my wife’s birthday and he made sure her dessert was decorated and they sang happy Birthday.
Great quiet place for lunch on upper east side, clean elegant decor. Great food and service.
