   Part of my main was inedible and my dessert I had to leave as it was digusting ... the hotel was beautiful to stay in but I would come back and not eat my evening meal in the restaurant again.

   This was our worst dining experience ever. We have never seen quite so many customers leave early. There was only one waiter, we imagine he had been let down by other members of staff, but were not told this. We were not offered a wine menu but managed to get two glasses of house wine - in dirty glasses. Starter reasonable. Main course of lamb freeeezing cold. Started our meal at 7.30 and still waiting for uneaten main course to be cleared away at 9pm. Waiter very rude when we told him why we could not eat the food. Like all the other diners, we left before desert - although nobody was actually able to order because the waited had long since lost interest.

   We had a Sunday lunch for four people booked it in advance and the venue was spectacular. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were able to eat inside or outside and could see the beautiful scenery from either situation. The one and only downside was if you are expecting a full meaty Sunday roast this is not the menu for you. For us I have to say did not effect our enjoyment one bit and the food was healthy and tasted great.

   I never leave reviews, but this place was so bad I feel compelled to do so! Terrible over priced meal!

   Second time there and both excellent. Relaxed atmosphere with good service. Superbly cooked food, great vegetarian options. Wonderful hotel too. Will return

   We had an amazing evening meal at Combe Grove, the food was utterly delicious and the service was impeccable. They completely catered to my dietary requirements (gluten and soya free) and were happy to substitute any items in the main meal that I couldn't eat. The setting is beautiful and was perfect for a romantic meal, we will definitely be returning!

   They were trialling a new menu, unfortunately. The starter was tastless and the salmon had slimy skin left on it. Both our steaks had to be sent back as they were cremated. Last course of cheese was very good but easily done. Waiting staff and location excellent, however.

   It was one of the coldest days and was way too cold to sit by the windows to enjoy the view. Nice looking room though. The food tasted very nice, and the chef agreed to grill us some vegetables as the cold salad buffet wasn't appealing having come in from biting, snow laden winds. I wonder if the kitchen should have anticipated the weather and popped some potatoes in the oven to supplement the cold salad buffet? Unfortunately what drags the whole experience down is the awful service; long waits and forgotten orders. I'm afraid I won't be returning.

    The hotel / manor house and the surroundings are beautiful, staff were very polite but unfortunately not all staff are competent, bar staff not really sure the difference between one wine and another , evening meal was okay bit over priced as were the drinks and the selection was poor, breakfast was lovely once it finally arrived , staff failed to take our order to the kitchen the first time and another member of staff decided to clear our table before my partner had finished breakfast, I would visit again hoping all the issues can be sorted .
