Columbus Fish Market - Grandview
A excellent experience. the server should be more polite in his interruptions. I was there visiting with my daughter , whom I have not seen since Thanksgiving, I was abruptly interrupted many times. otherwise, a very very fine experience.
My swordfish was prepared exactly the way I wanted. It was delicious.
Great birthday dinner and our server was phenomenal!
Honestly I was super disappointed....we went to dinner for my husbands birthday. We didn’t have to wait, not because of the reservation but because it wasn’t busy. We paid over $120 for two people without alcohol and the food was no better than I could have made at home. The best thing about the meal was the peach tea! The scallops were overcooked and nothing we ate was wow! Apparently my expectations since it is a Cameron Mitchell’s restaurant were too high. I felt bad as my husband had been wanting to try the restaurant for a really long time and when we left he said “welp, not all its cracked up to be” we could have had a better meal for a lot less money.
It seemed a little pricey, food was fabulous though. Service was a little slow.
We were seating immediately and waited on just as quickly. Our server worked hard to make sure we had all that we needed. The food was so good and there was plenty. I finished my leftovers the next day for lunch and it was still really good. We will definitely go back.
Took my family there for celebration of two birthdays....it was a Saturday at noon and no one was in the restaurant....by the time we left, perhaps two tables had been filled....prices exorbitant for a Saturday lunch to find out we could only order off the dinner menu.....so that was a bit much.
We were celebrating a birthday. The food was great. The service was mediocre. We had to repeatedly ask the waitress to refill our drinks. We bringing boxes to our table, she offered to box one person’s leftover, but when asked to bring an extra box she dropped the box off in front of the other person and walked off. The experience we had with our waitress was awkward.
Excellent across the board!!!
My husband and I went for our anniversary. This was our first time here and it was a marvelous experience. The food was amazing. My husband ordered the New York Strip, it was cooked perfectly. My husband generally uses steak sauce but this steak didn't need it. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Shrimp appetizer which was so yummy, and the Fishermans Fry. The fish was the freshest I've had in a long time. The batter on the fish was perfect, not too thick and cooked through. My husband paired his steak with a red Federalist wine that complimented his steak perfectly. I had a BlackBerry margarita that was so delicious and well balanced. The restaurant was clean and up to date. Our server was attentive but not intrusive and had a friendly disposition. All in all this place is well worth the money.
Best seafood, you can get this far from the ocean. The Carrot Cake was terrific and shareable.
We were a party of four. Three of us had no issues with any of our items. One in the aprty required her entrée to be without seasoning, and so indicated when ordering. That was not the presentation and the server wasn't particularly keen on either returning the entrée or checking back to determine if it was acceptable as presented
The food was mediocre and my martini was served to me half full. The waitress tried to rush us through our orders and meal.
The food was inconsistent. Cedar Plank salmon, lobster bisque and gumbo all very good. Stuffed shrimp were wet with grease with rubbery overcooked shrimp served lukewarm.
Very good food, but definitely a bit on the pricey side. Service was excellent.
Pretty decent seafood place. Wait staff is okay, not awesome! Food is good.
Our server Jeff was the best part of our night. It was a wonderful experience overall but Jeff’s outstanding service and personality were the highlight of our experience. Would absolutely go again.
We have been to the Fish Market many times, and always enjoy it. Service was excellent, food quality terrific, plentiful, tasty, and served promptly.
Our server Jeff was wonderful. He was attentive, accommodating and took the time to interact with my hard of hearing mother celebrating her birthday. The food was outstanding.
Overall, it was just a bad experience it was my dates first time there and his fried cod was wet on the inside. Our drinks were watered down!!!! Watered down!! When we left and Wales passed a worker she didn’t even acknowledge our departure.
Birthday dinner for my dad. My mom said it was one of her best meals ever and they had a vegan option for me. We all left satisfied. Thank you!
Excellent service and food.
Very disappointed. My scallops were over cooked and my mixed vegetables weren't cooked enough. Quality has gone way downhill from our previous visit.
We went for my daughters birthday ..it was really cold
In the restaurant..like the air conditioning was
Running...she wanted carrot cake for dessert but
It was frozen..she had to get it to go !
Seafood is always fresh and delicious. Good selection of menu options.
Very nice atmosphere with professional service. I would be careful when choosing a dish. Some options aren’t prepared as described on the menu. They must have a cook that loves spices. Crab cakes are very spicy and other items can contain too much of the wrong seasoning. Needs a little balance.
Amazing food, super friendly staff, quick service; great location & easy to get to from the highway
Sunday lunch. No hostess working at the time, so our waitress took us to our table. The food (lobster bisque, fried seafood platter) was good. Food came out sporadically, took over 10 minutes for a kid's sundae at the end. Waitress was pleasant but complained about being only waitstaff at the time. Staffing seems to be an issue in front and back of house, as she also noted the kitchen was very backed up (it wasn't nearly a quarter full). Little to no ambiance. It wasn't dinner--but the prices are still the same. Overall, it's okay. For the value, it's poor. Just nothing to justify the prices other than the former owner's reputation. Probably won't be back again.
Our reservation was honored to the minute. Our food was delivered in a timely manner, with appropriate spacing between courses; not too fast and not too slow. Nut-crusted trout was superb, as was the sea bass. Finished with incredible shark fin pie, and a ginormous slice of carrot cake. A very fine dining experience.
Great environment for a date. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Appetizers are very very small for the price. But I would highly recommend to someone looking for a nice time in Columbus.
I was very underwhelmed with Columbus Fish Market. From the service to the food. The server that we had was dismissive and liked to talk over me and my family. He was VERY out of line, and it will be a while to nonexistent before I return to the Fish Market. The food was definitely underwhelming considering the price; I actually expected better.
We had several problems during this visit. I did take into play it was Valentine's weekend and they were quite busy.
First, I had to clean off our own table that had crumbs all over it. We had to ask for our waters, ask for silverware, ask for the butter for the seafood.
I had chosen this place because I was hoping to enjoy some crab legs, which they were out of. Again, Valentine's weekend...super busy..but stunk.
I ended up getting the twin lobster tails and had to keep picking pieces of shell out of my mouth because there were that many broken pieces mixed in with the tail meat. I've never had that happen before!
The Columbus fish market was predictably good and we got our favorite dish giger ctusted Salmon which was great. couple of issues; Our table was crowded close to others which ruined the privacy mostly and they ran out of the dessert shark fin pie, really guys? on one of your busiest weekends could you run out of an frozen dessert!!! PS, our server Jeff was great too.
The food prices are too high. Me and my wife felt that we were paying for the name of the restaurant and not the food that we were serviced. Our waitress did an excellent good, but we felt that she was being overworked trying to take care of too many tables by herself.
It was really good, the waiter service exceptional, the appetizer (shrimp with wrapped bacon is the best) and the bass fish is really really good, but the fish wasn’t warm enough, but I was starving, no big deal.
Valentine’s Day dinner...beware: despite appearances this is NOT a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. Food was fine but service was not good. Chaotic, unpolished, and at times downright distracting. I know it was a busy night but they did not handle it well and it weighed on our evening. Especially when we tried to pay with a Camerion Mitchell gift card and were told ,” sorry.” Not a good experience.
Shrimp was great! Could never find my waiter had to stop several other waiters to get help
Worst dining experience I’ve had in Columbus. Inedible overpriced food.
This was our second time dining at the Fish Market for our Valentines' date and the staff helped make it a terrific evening. I had ordered flowers from FTD and delivered to the restaurant and they were placed on our table prior to us being seated. That set the whole tone for the dinner. The place was very busy but our server did a great job keeping up with our table. Our food was excellent. I had the lobster bisque and my Valentine had the calamari for appetizers and they both were excellent. The portion size for the soup was rather small IMO. She had the strip and I had the Swordfish. Both entrees were delicious. I enjoyed the left over steak this morning with eggs over easy for breakfast, nice! But it was good. I was to full for dessert. We will definitely come back again in the future, maybe for a third consecutive Valentine's Date. Thanks again to the staff..
