This was my second time trying this place and it’s just wasn’t good again! The gumbo was burnt like it had been cooked and burned in the pot! I sent that back to order the spicy shrimp then my plate had hair on it, I didn’t even bother sending it back just got my bill and left never again the food wasn’t good at all.
We understand there is a shortage of workers. Kristen did her best. Our reservation was at 6:15 on a Saturday. They were already out of a couple of entrees. One of our party ordered scallops after finding her first 2 choices weren't available. They were the smallest scallops ever! The food was mediocre at best.
The upholstery on the booth was torn. Very sad. We've always enjoyed the place before.
We were disappointed that they were out of crab legs as we both looked forward to enjoying them. The alternative order was good but it wasn't crab legs. At dessert time, We both wanted key lime pie and again were disappointed that they were out of it.
I’ve been dining at the fish market since 2004 and this was the first time that I have had a bad experience.
The restaurant seemed a little bit dark to me. The food portions were adequate and everything was prepared properly. The waitress was attentive.
My wife and I decided to go out on a date! This place was amazing! The food was second to none!
My meal was excellent. Service was great. Enjoyed it.
Food was great! Server was not very attentive… Assume she was new.
Great food. Quiet atmosphere. Good service. Nice wine selection.
I LOVE Chilean Sea Bass, and it didn't disappoint, absolutely delicious! Service was impeccable. All-in-all, highly recommend without hesitation.
They were incredibly short staffed - turning walk-ins away. Took us 35 minutes to be seated with NOBODY AHEAD OF US. Food was ok but small portions for the price. Drinks were good and our server Brock was very good. Two stars on service for the long wait to be seated and the excuses instead of apologies by the manager/hostess.
Music was loud from speakers. Waiter was new I think. Gumbo was terrible.
I met two friends at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Service was exceptional! Our server was especially patient and did not rush us (which we appreciated as this was our first outing together since the pandemic). My friends enjoyed their meals. I had a Caesar salad with salmon. The salad was a bit overdressed and the salmon was a bit overcooked. Overall, however, we appreciated being back at this Columbus standard and look forward to meeting there again.
Wonderful variety of foods, not just seafood. Great appetizer selection. Servings were plentiful as well as delicious. Kids menu was a plus.
Everything was good. I had the Lobster Bisque but it contained no lobster meat. Disappointed
Delicious food, excellent service!
The food was awesome. Fish of the day Cod blackened with smashed redskins that were tasty too. The mixed veggies were wonderful. My wife had the same sides but opted for grilled shrimp. She said they were huge and very good. My Dad had the fish and chips. Lightly battered and fries. Sometimes fish can be too heavily battered but these were not. He loved the meal. All of our meals were under twenty dollars each so they do have value meals on the menu. Some of the rarer fish and steaks were very pricey though.
Celebrated my sons birthday. The food was great but they didn’t do anything special to recognize the occasion despite having it listed on the reservation.
Best meal we’ve had at any restaurant in a long time! Excellent.
We really enjoyed the food and the time we there we will be back soon.
Always a good meal. Was sad they ran out of chicken parmeasan though, as I am not a fish eater.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be going back!
Great food. Best seafood place in Columbus
We normally enjoy Mitchell’s ocean club very much, so we thought to try this sister restaurant. We had ordered 3 filets with scallops and crab legs. The filets looked and tasted like beef roast. I’ve never had a filet like that. It truly shredded like a roast and tasted exactly like a roast out of the crockpot. I’ve never complained or left a negative review in my life, but for the amount of money we spent, we expected much better. The scallops were quite small as well, but that wasn’t really an issue.
Cocktails were good. They know how to do fish. The Snapper that I ordered blackened was unfortunately just baked, but very well prepared. The Oysters were Maryland, and just so-so. For $3.25ea, I would expect Wellfleet or Bluepoint.
The sides were good. Veggies perfect, not over cooked. The shrimp was good, but afraid to ask where it was from. Probably not wild-caught.
Music was annoying. Twice as loud as it should have been and up tempo. Probably an effort to subconsciously hurry the dinner. Noise level not bad otherwise. Tables clean. I like old 60s decor, but it was a little shabby looking. Service was good. I think my server did a good job, but five tables at a time in that environment was a bit too much for anyone. Not Mitchell’s anymore, Ruth's Hospitality Group. Overall, slightly overpriced for what you get. I was expecting something slightly more upscale.
Service and meal were ok. Dessert was limited. Our server told us that ice cream and sorbet were not available due to a freezer issue. However, table next to us was offered and served ice cream. Our grandson was very disappointed.
It was an outstanding dinner. Food was fantastic and everything about the experience was great
This place was perfect for us! We were looking for a casual place that had an upscale feel and delicious food! We found it! The Alaskan Snow Crab was expensive but totally worth it. And the Open Blue Cobia was perfectly cooked. Will be coming back soon!
A delightful meal! The mango mojito was complex and well balanced. The meals were well prepared, great preparation, and well seasoned. The tables are spaced out which contributes to the quiet atmosphere. If you are looking for a place for a special date or just great food, this is the place.
I made reservations for my wife and I for our 19th wedding anniversary. We were seated very quickly and felt very comfortable. Our waiter was nice. Drinks were ordered and we got our bread which is very good. Placed the order and got our appetizer in a decent amount of time. After that, business picked up and the waiter just kind of floated away and didn’t check on us much. He asked if we wanted more bread and never got it. By then we were done eating and ordered dessert to go. Both of our dishes were great and the margaritas are stiff!! We had a wonderful dining experience. Thank you!
The interior needs redone, cleaned and brightened. It's original décor from The Cameron Mitchel days and it shows
They no longer have the pineapple infused vodka! Also, they still had social distancing at the bar and tables.
Thank you for creating an exceptional dinner for my father during Father’s Day. We don’t often visit CFM but mannnn we enjoyed everything. The food, the service, the attitude. Everything was just so wonderful. It’s been a while since we dined this happily. Thank you! Keep up the great work!
Our first visit. Food was good. Husband had the Sea Bass, it was very good. Staff not as friendly as expected. Felt the place could use a few updates - if the food prices are top notch, the accommodations should be as well. Also for those trying to save a few bucks, FYI... if you want the happy hour prices - you must be seated and order from the bar - they don't advertise that with the happy hour information. Not breaking a leg to get back but would go again.
We dined here for Father’s Day and had a great experience. Service, food, drinks, and atmosphere were great. We got a variety of dinner entrees and everyone really enjoyed their food.
Calamari was delicious and tender, shrimp cocktail was adequate After a very long wait the entrees arrived. The smashed redskins were actually gummy mashed potatoes. My stuffed cod was cold. The tough ends of the asparagus were not removed. The cedar planked salmon was fine. The stuffed flounder was also cold. The steak was perfect.Service was very slow even though the restaurant was not crowded. Maybe everyone is just out of practice after the shut down but it was very disappointing.I over tipped anyway.
Husband’s birthday and Father’s day
The service and food were very good. The only thing that was a little off was the lady that was at the front desk. She was not friendly at all. She didn’t acknowledge when we arrived and left without saying anything. The gentleman that took her place was extremely polite and nice The same applied with the server.
Took some time to get seated when we arrived at our reservation time. Once seated, we waited about 10 minutes to see our server. Ordered drinks and these came out very slow. It appeared our server had too many tables to be able to keep up. We were in the restaurant for 1.5 hours, without dessert. This is longer than usual. We are generally in and out in under an hour.
The fish in the fish tacos was very dry and the dish lacked flavor.
The sea bass was good, however the presentation could have been better.
Had lunch there
Meal was excellent and the service remarkable
