Columbus Fish Market - Grandview Ratings and Reviews
I have been here a couple of times for business meals, but this time was for a birthday celebration for my teenage son. He was super impressed as was the rest of the family. Great service and food, and well worth the money for the quality of the food. I like the variety of ways that you can get your fish cooked (blackened, seared etc. ) The waiter was excellent and helped select the fish that was the freshest based on the season. We will be back for more special occasions.. Appreciate any place that makes it special for my son's birthday.
Made reservations for 7:15 PM Friday evening… Arrived at 7:10… And was seated at 7:35… Not sure why I had to make reservations to be seated so long… My dates dinner was delicious and to her satisfaction… however my dish… Was the lobster and crab stuffed cod… Which I’m sure some people would enjoy… Was not to my liking… Very heavy in a type of lemon cream sauce… And the cod was slightly chewy… I kind of expected a little more out of this caliber of restaurant… I kind of figured someone would have noticed or said something… Seeing as how I only finished half of my dinner… Not really sure the value was worth the meal… I guess… If I’m going to spend $150 in your restaurant… You should probably wow me…
We went to celebrate my husbands birthday and he suggested the restaurant because they had in the past the best ribeye he has ever had. This visit was very disappointing because the steak tasted and looked more like a sirloin. I know they are known for fish but for the price you should expect a decent steak.
Excellent menu and variety of selections. Only 2 minor criticisms, both not mentioned to my server. The jambalaya could have been hotter and the tilapia was a bit overcooked (as many Oscars are). My server was very informative and perfectly attentive without hovering. This is a well-managed establishment.
Been to fish market many times over the years and disappointed in our experience. Tuna was over cooked- was supposed to be med rare and was well done, salmon was over cooked as well-tough around the edges. Flounder stuffed with crab was tasty. Server was not available to send back meals until long after served. Not our usual experience. To their credit they offered to send back the tuna but most of the others had consumed at least 1/2 of meal by that time. Hopefully this was just a bad night and not what is now being served in this once incredible restaurant.
Food service was slow... food was delivered cold ... asked to turn on the buckeye vs cornhusker game in our separate room but never did.... mixed up our bill payment credit cards.... screwed up our free birthday deserts... been here before but this experience was different. Maybe it was the large party of 8??
We had another great meal at The Columbus Fish Market! Our salmon was fresh, nicely prepared and a good portion size. We also tried the BBQ Bacon wrapped shrimp for a starter and they were excellent. The menu has a good variety and the waitstaff was very solicitous.
When resv made, noted Birthday. They did not recognize it. Shrimp and scallops pasta was tasteless. Chilean sea bass in broth was not well presented; sea bass was hot; everything else was not. It was consistently excellent when Cameron Mitchell owned it, so we won't be back.
I took my wife to Fish Market for our wedding anniversary last Saturday. We were really looking forward to a great experience......well, we were truly disappointed! We had reservations and were seated right beside a loud party of 12 when every other table in the restaurant was open. The waitress said "I know their loud, but they should be leaving soon". We ordered an appetizer, which was actually good, but both of our entrees were awful! The lobster and shrimp were both really tough and the vegetables were absolutely flavorless. The waitress did not ask us how our food was. I eventually spoke to the manager on duty and advised her of the poor quality food that we had just paid $90 for. She offered to give us new plates...but I certainly didn't want more of the same poor food. Unfortunately, we left the restaurant with a tainted view of Fish Market, never planning to return again.
The food was very good. It would have been better if it had been hot. We each brought a jacket, because we anticipated that the restaurant would be too cold. It was, and the cold air coming directly onto our food cooled it quickly. That is a problem that should/can be resolved.
I came to Columbus for an event and my boyfriend (who lives there) wanted to treat me to a very nice dinner. We sat at the bar which was lovely. When our dinner was served, the steak was delicious and hot, while the asparagus, smashed redskins, and lobster were cold. The drawn butter was also cold. I was disappointed and expected much more from such a high end restaurant.
