Awesome meal, as always! May have inadvertently been marked as a no-show on the reservation (1st of the party to arrive was unaware of the reservation). Can assure you we certainly did dine at the restaurant tonight.

We had a large group on a busy Friday night. We were seated immediately. Everyone enjoyed their food. The service was friendly but slow. Restaurant would benefit with some upgrades to the decor.

Our waiter Justin was great, but we were there for almost 2 hours! Dinner shouldn't take that long. The food was pretty good, but not worth what was charged. We might go again, but we'll stick to appetizers.

I had been to this restaurant several years ago when it was a Cameron Mitchell establishment. It is now owned by an outfit called Landry that owns other chains like Morton's Grill, Chart House and McCormick and Schmicks. Actually, everything, menu and decor, is pretty much the same as I remembered. We had fresh oysters and shrimp cocktails for appetizers. It was very fresh and enjoyable. My wife had the clam chowder (not enough clam pieces to suit her) and I had the lobster bisque, very tasty. She had the ahi tuna rice bowl for her main course (she would get it again) and I had the seared sea scallops with duck comfit hash that was excellent. We shared a piece of key lime pie for dessert. Everything was freshly prepared and the service was good. With a bottle of wine and a 20% tip the tab total was $170.00, a tad pricey, nonetheless we will consider returning when back in the Columbus area.

Went for a birthday celebration and it was the usual, fantastic food. Even my picky eater loved her grilled cheese and fries. The food is fantastic and atmosphere is very good as well.

Excellent as Usual

We are never disappointed with the food or the service at the Columbus fish market. We went this time to celebrate my wife's birthday. She was pleased to receive a complimentary creme brûlée. They have what we believe to be the best Brûlée in town! I ordered the cedar plank salmon with peppers and zucchini. It was very good. Wife had stuffed lobster and shrimp; it was even better. Our server was attentive and excellent. This will continue to be our go to spot for celebration dinners.

Nice business lunch. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal. My pretzel encrusted tilapia however had a very moist texture on the pretzel crust. Like wet cornflakes. Disappointing, but this is still a favorite restaurant.

I would not recommend the Columbus Fish Market. This restaurant has gone way down hill since it changed from a Mitchell restaurant. I had a party of six celebrating a special occasion. All six people chose different entre's. ALL six people had cold food. No one spoke up until we were partly through the meal or I would have requested everything be done over. I believe that you really have to try to be able to serve six plates with cold potatoes! I cook a lot of fish at home but do not regularly buy snapper so I decided that I would enjoy that. My meal had a really odd taste. I continued to eat thinking it had been a while since I had snapper. I was ill during the night and I believe it was my fish. No one else got sick. My husband commented when we got home "well we don't have to bother going there again". I book a fair number of recruitment dinners for work and will not use this restaurant unless someone absolutely insists.

Enjoyed our meal and service was great. Grilled trout was dry. Sea Scallops were great and my shrimp and scallops over fettuccine was quite different. Bloody Mary was rather uninteresting. Overall an enjoyable evening.

Unfortunately I was not very impressed by the food they served us that night. We’ve always been fans of The Columbus Fish Market and other Mitchell’s restaurants. That evening, the meal was not impressive at all. My husband and I shared a dozen raw oysters, and they were small, bland, and hard to get out of the shell. Honestly, the oysters we buy from the Whole Foods were better than that in terms of the size and the flavor. Then, we were served two small (about 5”) baguettes for a table of 7 people.

My cod fish stuffed with Lobster and shrimp tasted dry and did not have much flavor. My husband had flounder stuffed with crab meat which I thought was better than mine. I had a good expectation about the lobster but it was not impressive at all. I added some salt to eat.
I wouldn’t be so disappointed if this was from a general hotel restaurant or a business class meal on the flight. I thought Mitchell’s restaurant could do better than that, but I guess it didn’t. That’s why I’m disappointed and surprised.
I was glad, however, to see that they had Louis Latour Pouilly-Fuissé.

I have been here a couple of times for business meals, but this time was for a birthday celebration for my teenage son. He was super impressed as was the rest of the family. Great service and food, and well worth the money for the quality of the food. I like the variety of ways that you can get your fish cooked (blackened, seared etc. ) The waiter was excellent and helped select the fish that was the freshest based on the season. We will be back for more special occasions.. Appreciate any place that makes it special for my son's birthday.

Made reservations for 7:15 PM Friday evening… Arrived at 7:10… And was seated at 7:35… Not sure why I had to make reservations to be seated so long… My dates dinner was delicious and to her satisfaction… however my dish… Was the lobster and crab stuffed cod… Which I’m sure some people would enjoy… Was not to my liking… Very heavy in a type of lemon cream sauce… And the cod was slightly chewy… I kind of expected a little more out of this caliber of restaurant… I kind of figured someone would have noticed or said something… Seeing as how I only finished half of my dinner… Not really sure the value was worth the meal… I guess… If I’m going to spend $150 in your restaurant… You should probably wow me…

We went to celebrate my husbands birthday and he suggested the restaurant because they had in the past the best ribeye he has ever had. This visit was very disappointing because the steak tasted and looked more like a sirloin. I know they are known for fish but for the price you should expect a decent steak.

I would have given a higher rating for ambience but we had a booth in the back corner. It was very dark and couldn't see food or guests well. The rest of the restaurant is well lit, just this one booth.

Excellent menu and variety of selections. Only 2 minor criticisms, both not mentioned to my server. The jambalaya could have been hotter and the tilapia was a bit overcooked (as many Oscars are). My server was very informative and perfectly attentive without hovering. This is a well-managed establishment.

Been to fish market many times over the years and disappointed in our experience. Tuna was over cooked- was supposed to be med rare and was well done, salmon was over cooked as well-tough around the edges. Flounder stuffed with crab was tasty. Server was not available to send back meals until long after served. Not our usual experience. To their credit they offered to send back the tuna but most of the others had consumed at least 1/2 of meal by that time. Hopefully this was just a bad night and not what is now being served in this once incredible restaurant.
