We have been to the Fish Market many times, and always enjoy it. Service was excellent, food quality terrific, plentiful, tasty, and served promptly.
Our server Jeff was wonderful. He was attentive, accommodating and took the time to interact with my hard of hearing mother celebrating her birthday. The food was outstanding.
Overall, it was just a bad experience it was my dates first time there and his fried cod was wet on the inside. Our drinks were watered down!!!! Watered down!! When we left and Wales passed a worker she didn’t even acknowledge our departure.
Birthday dinner for my dad. My mom said it was one of her best meals ever and they had a vegan option for me. We all left satisfied. Thank you!
Excellent service and food.
Very disappointed. My scallops were over cooked and my mixed vegetables weren't cooked enough. Quality has gone way downhill from our previous visit.
We went for my daughters birthday ..it was really cold
In the restaurant..like the air conditioning was
Running...she wanted carrot cake for dessert but
It was frozen..she had to get it to go !
Seafood is always fresh and delicious. Good selection of menu options.
Very nice atmosphere with professional service. I would be careful when choosing a dish. Some options aren’t prepared as described on the menu. They must have a cook that loves spices. Crab cakes are very spicy and other items can contain too much of the wrong seasoning. Needs a little balance.
Amazing food, super friendly staff, quick service; great location & easy to get to from the highway
Sunday lunch. No hostess working at the time, so our waitress took us to our table. The food (lobster bisque, fried seafood platter) was good. Food came out sporadically, took over 10 minutes for a kid's sundae at the end. Waitress was pleasant but complained about being only waitstaff at the time. Staffing seems to be an issue in front and back of house, as she also noted the kitchen was very backed up (it wasn't nearly a quarter full). Little to no ambiance. It wasn't dinner--but the prices are still the same. Overall, it's okay. For the value, it's poor. Just nothing to justify the prices other than the former owner's reputation. Probably won't be back again.
Our reservation was honored to the minute. Our food was delivered in a timely manner, with appropriate spacing between courses; not too fast and not too slow. Nut-crusted trout was superb, as was the sea bass. Finished with incredible shark fin pie, and a ginormous slice of carrot cake. A very fine dining experience.
Great environment for a date. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Appetizers are very very small for the price. But I would highly recommend to someone looking for a nice time in Columbus.
I was very underwhelmed with Columbus Fish Market. From the service to the food. The server that we had was dismissive and liked to talk over me and my family. He was VERY out of line, and it will be a while to nonexistent before I return to the Fish Market. The food was definitely underwhelming considering the price; I actually expected better.
We had several problems during this visit. I did take into play it was Valentine's weekend and they were quite busy.
First, I had to clean off our own table that had crumbs all over it. We had to ask for our waters, ask for silverware, ask for the butter for the seafood.
I had chosen this place because I was hoping to enjoy some crab legs, which they were out of. Again, Valentine's weekend...super busy..but stunk.
I ended up getting the twin lobster tails and had to keep picking pieces of shell out of my mouth because there were that many broken pieces mixed in with the tail meat. I've never had that happen before!
The Columbus fish market was predictably good and we got our favorite dish giger ctusted Salmon which was great. couple of issues; Our table was crowded close to others which ruined the privacy mostly and they ran out of the dessert shark fin pie, really guys? on one of your busiest weekends could you run out of an frozen dessert!!! PS, our server Jeff was great too.
The food prices are too high. Me and my wife felt that we were paying for the name of the restaurant and not the food that we were serviced. Our waitress did an excellent good, but we felt that she was being overworked trying to take care of too many tables by herself.
It was really good, the waiter service exceptional, the appetizer (shrimp with wrapped bacon is the best) and the bass fish is really really good, but the fish wasn’t warm enough, but I was starving, no big deal.
Valentine’s Day dinner...beware: despite appearances this is NOT a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. Food was fine but service was not good. Chaotic, unpolished, and at times downright distracting. I know it was a busy night but they did not handle it well and it weighed on our evening. Especially when we tried to pay with a Camerion Mitchell gift card and were told ,” sorry.” Not a good experience.
Shrimp was great! Could never find my waiter had to stop several other waiters to get help
Worst dining experience I’ve had in Columbus. Inedible overpriced food.
This was our second time dining at the Fish Market for our Valentines' date and the staff helped make it a terrific evening. I had ordered flowers from FTD and delivered to the restaurant and they were placed on our table prior to us being seated. That set the whole tone for the dinner. The place was very busy but our server did a great job keeping up with our table. Our food was excellent. I had the lobster bisque and my Valentine had the calamari for appetizers and they both were excellent. The portion size for the soup was rather small IMO. She had the strip and I had the Swordfish. Both entrees were delicious. I enjoyed the left over steak this morning with eggs over easy for breakfast, nice! But it was good. I was to full for dessert. We will definitely come back again in the future, maybe for a third consecutive Valentine's Date. Thanks again to the staff..
Over the years I think that this place has regressed. The food quality can be better, it is the Fish Market. A place with that name should be the best, and clearly they are not.
Everything was awesome!
We went with another couple to celebrate Valentines Day. Our waitress, Lexi, was not very attentive. We were into our meal by the time we got our second drink. We would have ordered probably 3-4 drinks per person, but she rarely came to the table. She lost out on that revenue. The fish my husband got looked to be a partly bad piece. We did not have a chance to say anything at the restaurant about this and just ate what we could. We sat there for so long we just wanted to leave. A very disappointing visit for what should have been a fine dining experience. We ended up with a $300 bill and a very miserable experience. This is not the first time we have been here. We have never had any of these issues before, so it made it even that more disappointing for the price we paid.
Elisa is always great!
Amazing food and service
Very busy (Valentine’s Day) and on a Friday! Excellent dinner.
Great service and food; excellent prices.
Anniversary lunch with the Mrs. “Lunch Box” special was the best!! Last minute reservation with no problem
Our server Melissa was great! My wife and I enjoyed the service and the food.
Very disappointing. Not at all what we were expecting. Food was ok. We will not return
If you're craving quality seafood in Columbus, keep looking.
Three of us dined with great expectations only to be disappointed by rubbery and mushy seafood. Salmon, shrimp and scallops were over cooked. Crab stuffed flounder combined a tasteless piece of flounder with off tasting stuffing made of I don't know what. This meal was really disappointing especially for the price.
This was my first visit to The Columbus Fish Market, bu I had high expectations because it is a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. The display case of fish immediately made my mind up not to order fish. The pieces on display were gray and dry. Our waiter was absent most of the meal and when we asked for something, such as the bread he offered earlier, he made up lame excuses. The food was overly salted, over priced and far below what I expect from Cameron Mitchell. I would not go back.
The food was pretty good. But not worth the price.
Loved the oysters and the bacon wrapped shrimp! The lobster tails were delicious!
Delicious and hot, the food was perfectly prepared and the b.c service from Rachel was extraordinarily great.
The value for the money wasn't there as the portion sizes were rather small for the price paid. The value just wasn't there.
Everything as always great. Server could have been more attentive as it appeared we were his only table
