Dined during restaurant week and the food was great!
Very good, must try shark fin pie
Excellent customer service. Food was pretty good but a little overpriced. That could be a reflection of the restaurant well menu though so I won't hold it against them! A bit on the cold side in the room but the ambiance was nice..
Was a wonderful place to eat great food and have great service for my wife's 50th birthday celebration.
We were pretty excited to return to another of the Mitchell’s restaurants. They had wahoo on the menu for the night. We arrived and were seated promptly and the server came by for our drink order. A little while later, she returned to tell us that the bar was backed up but the drinks would be on their way. A little while after that, the food showed up as did the drinks. It was pretty disappointing in terms of timing. We did order two of the wahoo and one of the salmon dishes. The fish was unfortunately overcooked and a bit dry but we ate it anyway because we knew thy were now out of it. The hostess was delightful and also came by and checked after we were seated. Unfortunately, this was a grossly disappointing experience and, $150 later, we left dissatisfied.
Menu is very limited. Seems like an upscale Red Lobster. Original restaurant had more with daily fresh specials. Not really busy on a Friday evening. Seems like taste and quality have leveled off to just fit the market. Prices too high for value. However they had lots of wines on the backside of the menu.
We don’t go often, but it seems like this place has gone downhill. The crab legs were served split down the middle, and the meat was very watery. The service was very slow. Not worth the $100 check we paid. Sad to have what was my favorite restaurant not meet my expectations.
Food was good but my wife’s fish was over cooked. When you are specializing in that kind of cuisine you shouldn’t put out over cooked fish. The hostess had a stank attitude also- it kills me when you see these hostesses who have the most replaceable position in a restaurant act like they are all that. The hostess is the face of the restaurant- she should be warm and friendly not stuck up and cold.
Not from the area, but like to stop by when we are in Columbus. Food is fresh, service is good. Have not had a bad meal yet. A little pricy but worth it for special occasions. Need to leave room for the SharkFin Pie dessert. Hope to stop by again.
Loved the food, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Very good experience
We had a wonderful experience celebrating my husband's birthday. Our waitress was great! Very efficient, friendly and helpful. I have always loved the Fish Market, and the menu is varied with a variety of price ranges. I have never gotten a bad meal there.
Food is excellent, everytime we go there for an out of town experience.
Sea scallops were excellent. Good recognition of birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
Yes, I will recommend to a friend. Unfortunately I was disappointed on this special day for my husband. We have gone to the Columbus Fish Market for every Father's Day for the last 10+ years. For our 6:30 PM dinner, they ran out of the trout, lobster and wahoo. When they substituted crab legs we had to ask the server to bring out the butter and leg crackers. The service was slow. Our meals, when we did receive it, was excellent and the server was nice, as he apologized for the slowness.
It was terrible. We have been to the Fish Market on numerous occasions but after tonight it will be our last. The hostess first insisted our reservation was for 5:30 and when we arrived at 5:40 for our 5:45 reservation she said we had been cancelled for being late. After showing her my open table confirmation and email of 5:45 she sat us and rolled her eyes. It wasn’t even 6pm and they were out of lobster, chicken fingers, and copper salmon. Made no attempt to offer substitutions for the lobster even though other servers around us offered their tables crab legs in place. Service was lacking, we were short a place setting and asked numerous times. No bread dishes brought. We asked to speak with a manager about our experience and ask why we were not told about the crab leg substitute, he was rude and seemed to not really care. Very poor experience for a Fathers Day dinner.
Noise choice of Energetic is a bit positive. Very noisy is more appropriate.
Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Wasn't even 5pm and the Manager said they were out of about 15 items. Manager seemed more interested in defending the staff and arguing with customers about how it wasn't there fault. I get it, but the place still sucked. I mean how does a place called Fish Market run out of fish? Lol
My sister and I had a wonderful lunch! I am glad I secured our reservation, so we were seated immediately. Samantha was knowledgable, accommodating and gave us exceptional service! And we loved the new menu!
Felt like it was under staffed. Food was great. Good time as always.
A waste of my $25 certificate for my birthday. Since I had to drive 70 miles to use the certificate it was a total waste of my time
GreT service and good food!
We arrived for our reservations and were seated right away. Our server was very pleasant and quick. My husbands clam chowder was the full of clams and probably the best cup of chowder he’d ever had at the Fish Market. However our dinners were mediocre at best. I had blackened fish tacos. The fish was very dry and had no flavor at all.The pico had a little heating the and the guacamole some flavor it just couldn’t make up for over cooked fish. The fried shrimp and chips dinner was okay. Nothing special or outstanding. Tasted like a drive thru meal. Normally our meals at the Fish Market are outstanding and we are hoping this is just a one-off and not the standard.
quite selling this restaurant like it' still affiliated with Cameron Mitchell. It has been a few years since I was at the restaurant but the menu 's the bar still says cameron on it but am told not been associated for many years, could not use the gift card given to me
We very much enjoyed our visit. Our server Alex was excellent!
The atmosphere was good, the drinks and food were excellent, but the service was the real standout. My wife has a dairy-allergy, and they were very attentive, with the GM coming out to explain the options.
I would definitely go back for another special occasion.
My husband and I were looking for a place for both a date and seafood. The Columbus Fish Market filled the bill for both.
We shared the shrimp cocktail..beautifully chilled and very flavorful. Being a lobster lover, I was undecided between the twin tails and the stuffed lobster tail with bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp. Though our waitress assured me that both were delicious, she talked about the unique BBQ sauce on the shrimp. Dead on! That dish was out of this world!
My husband had the stuffed cod which he wasn't thrilled about. ( He wished he ordered my dish and helped me eat it!!)
Our meals were served with delicious redskins mashed potatoes, yummy asparagus and a hot sour dough baguette.
Yes, we were stuffed but thought we'd just "look at the dessert menu". We were so full we couldn't eat our mashed potatoes but....we had just enough room to share a piece of the shark fin
( I think) ice cream pie. It was worth every calorie!!!
Fresh seafood ... good choices.
We went here for our anniversary for the first time! The food was superb and the service top notch! Definately will be back!
Great experience overall and food was delicious.
Halibut was incredible, grilled perfectly. Service was punctual and attentive. Will be back my next Columbus trip.
We had the best experience from our waitress to the food and the entire experience!! Thank you!
Yes but two of our meals out of three were disappointing--we know never to get them again. Fish and chips and the nut encrusted trout---too bad---potatoes were warm only--we have gone there a lot over 20 years and it was not great.
We were celebrating an anniversary and we had a great time!
We had a family celebration at the Fish Market, a restaurant we have been to many times. Our server did not pay adequate attention to us - failed to ever fill our water glasses, and needed to be asked several times to bring other items (soda, salt, etc.). We were encouraged to join Landry's Club, which we did -- and we were not told that we needed to join through the Fish Market. So when we attempted to pay our bill (for hundreds of dollars), we were informed that we could not get credit in Landry's. While this is frustrating, the real issue is the "supervisor" (we were told there was no manager on duty) was rude and unhelpful.
The service was so below the CM experience.. I was surprised that the availability for a table
Of 4 was abundant on Open Table.. as we travel every weekend and never find this in a Foodie town on the East Coast. My husband is an old souls and requested we go the CFM for his Birthday dinner..
Nonetheless... our server was not amicable and informative ... unlike what we have experienced for 20+years and over 35 living in Columbus. We stopped for a drink at M 2 weeks ago and received a far better welcome than our waitress tonight for dinner.
I am leaving this review as a reminder that the name of a CM restaurant should always be consistent reminder of the pride we have in our Culinary Leader.. CM.. and want to make sure he continues to provide the quality and service he is known for ..
Another delicious trip to Columbus Fish Market. New menu since our last visit with lots of interesting new dishes and old favorites. Everything was perfect from start to finish.
We went for my friend’s birthday. Initially we were seated at a table right along the main walkway of the restaurant, but the management graciously moved our party to a semi private room at our request. I haven’t been to this restaurant in a while, but it seemed that it had been remodeled somewhere along the way to make it much more casual than I recall it being. The ambiance was much nicer in the private room.
We were all very happy with our dinner choices. Several of us chose the seafood Cobb salad, which was delicious! It was a nice large portion and had crab Louie, lobster and shrimp incorporated. While it was large, it was also a lighter fare that left me feeling very satisfied but not bloated, which was perfect. My wine selection worked great with the meal -the Acrobat Pinot Gris. Not sure what a wine person would say, but to me it was perfect. The birthday girl opted for the stuffed lobster with bacon wrapped shrimp, and it was also delish! And also the price was very good for the value.
All in all, I will make plans to return to Mitchell’s Fish Market soon!
Very tasty. I always travel from Cleveland just for the food. Yummy.
The hype is overated for this place for it to b a cameron mitchell establishment Food is ok fish dry not very flavorable ambiance great service was great prices too high for the quality
