Food was delicious, very happy with the service, friendly environment.
Very limited wine list and out of some beers. Salad was acceptable but the ravioli tasted like it had been left over from the day before. Very disappointing.
Ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and a caesar salad both were great sized portions and the lamb rack i order was bursting with flavor and so tender the broccoli and potatoes were both cooked to perfection
Paola and Luigi!
Great food and no corkage fee, we went for our anniversary because it is such a special place. Best Italian food I've had in LA.
We had dinner last night and after we ordered they had a staffing problem and had to close for inside dining, however they served us as the only diners while still servicing takeout orders. The dining staff left and we were taken care of by the owner.
Not only was the service exceptional, the food was absolutely terrific. My wife had the salmon, our guest had the sole and I had the chicken parmigiana. They were all great. Often when you order chicken parmigiana the chicken is a processed piece of meat. Not here, it was a solid fresh chicken. My wife normally doesn’t particularly care for salmon but she said it was excellent. We had canopies for desert. Both the plating and the taste was excellent.
We are returning this evening and without saying many times in the future.
Better value than any popular restaurant in LA! An absolute must eat!
Food was not special. About 5 options of wine.
We enjoyed a delicious family dinner.
Absolutely delish! The food is very authentic Italian with natural flavors instead of flavors derived from seasonings. LOVED it
A hidden gem. Outstanding value.
Welcome Back Colori Kitchen. I'm so happy that you are able to resume 'inside dining.' The entire evening was great - the food, atmosphere and service were all exceptional.
I understand that restaurants are struggling because of the pandemic. I give them a pass on service and even long wait times even though you had reservation. However, they should not get a pass on the quality of the food. Their food was subpar and I don’t think it was fit to be served.
The food at Colori is always good. Most recently, I had the Lobster Ravioli in Pink sauce and it was perfection.
Hole in the wall. We went in only one person sitting, think it was manager, very dark inside no lights were on . We walked right on out. No one acknowledged us, which was fine because it doesn't look like the pictures very out dated.
Wonderful place to eat! Owners Paula and Luigi make you feel like family- we come here quite often and the food is ALWAYS SUPERB AND DELICIOUS!!!
This is a cute hole in the wall italian place. Food is excellent.
Had to wait 35 minutes after reservation time. Per mngr the app was booking with restaurant as if full capacity. But I’m not sure how that could happen. I think they were under staffed. But food was excellent.
Great food and great staff!
It’s always delicious and a great meal at Colori Kitchen! So happy the restaurant is still going strong through the pandemic. We love Colori Kitchen! Owners and waitstaff are fabulous, kind and the food is so delicious!
Colori Kitchen will always hold a special place in my heart because it was where I had my first date with my boyfriend. It's cozy and intimate which I prefer over a large impersonal place. I love that you bring your own wine since that not only makes it a good value, but you know what you're drinking and can spurge on a nice bottle. The food is consistently excellent and we've now gone several times. It's perfect for an early dinner before the Taper or Disney Hall since it's a short distance from either.
Been coming here for years. Still love it each time. Of course the standard Italian fare is great, I love the lingcod or specials of the evening. Bring your own bottle of wine (can buy it at the Whole Foods next door). We like to share our bottle.
We love Colori Kitchen. Unpretentious. Fun. Food is great (get the Cioppino). No corkage. Excellent service. Great value. What's not to like? IT'S LOUD. Our prior visits have been early weeknights (Tuesday, Wednesday). While energetic on those nights, it was easy to communicate with our table mates and staff. Latest visit was on Friday and everyone dining there must have been hard of hearing. Because they were all speaking AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS. There are no soft surfaces... ANYWHERE. So, it was QUITE LOUD. By the end of our meal (get the Cioppino) we had to get out of there for fear of PHL (Permanent Hearing Loss). Chicken Marsala was excellent, New York steak was also near perfect. Kale Ceaser was great and not over-dressed. (But, forget all that and get the Cioppino). And unless you're playing left tackle for the Trojans, plan to share it or take some home. All dishes are large enough to be shared by mere mortals.
We have been here several times and the food does not disappoint. While the location is not the most convenient for us, as we live 40 miles away, we try and go as often as possible. We love the food!
Hubby wasn't sure from the outside. Pleasant surprise once we ordered from menu. Great service from our waiter. No alcohol but BYOB w/o corkage fee! All the items we ordered were delicious, pleasantly served & very generous servings, from salad to entree to dessert. Salad so generous that one serving serves two people! We will definitely return again, and next time, we will bring a bottle of wine! This place is diamond in the rough!
Ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and mushroom risotto. Perfect portion for two. Meat entrees appeared delicious and really big! Will have to try next time.
Grilled calamari was so tender and tasty. Pasta dishes were superb! Their specials didn't disappoint. We had spaghetti and meatballs, burrata, pasta with bolognese, their fish special. Their cheesecake was the best I ever had - light as clouds.
The only negative was waiting for my reserved table. Staff we're struggling with a no-show but our server (Chip!) did his best. Food (salmon for one, striped bass for another) very tasty - we substituted broccoli for mashed potatoes, best broccoli I've had.
It's very noisy, but that's part of the price you pay for being in such a lively spot.
I'll be back!
Love this place!
I've tried everything at this point and the food is always great with an amazing wait staff.
Is it possible the main ingredient in my risotto was canned cream of mushroom soup? That this question even occurred to me is a problem.
Flawless as usual. The food in addition to our waiter is one of the reasons I continue to introduce friends to Colori.
Their pasta is amazing. It's a great little restaurant, and I go there every time I visit downtown LA.
The food is just so good. The grilled calamari is a must have. It is BYOB too...can't beat it.
Great food and service. Loved the grilled vegetables. Bring your own wine.
Had a great time. The prices were fair, the service was solid, and the food was fantastic. Will be back again as soon as I can, and I've already spread the word to several friends!
We had the most wonderful meal at Colori Kitchen the other night, just a plain old Wednesday. Started with the calamari appetizer - I don't think I've ever had such perfectly prepared and tasty squid, you could cut it with a fork. I had ricotta and spinach ravioli, the mister had tagliatelle with a meat sauce. It was all absolutely delicious - flavorful, never heavy, portions just perfect. We finished up with tiramisu, which was heavenly.
The place was pleasantly busy while we were there, but I've been told that it gets quite busy and there may be waits for a table on weekend evenings. Though we didn't have to wait, I am quite sure that I would if I had to - and happily - the dinner was very much worth it!
Best service I have received in a very long time. Amazing food. Calamari app was the best and so was the lasagnia! I love that you can bring your own wine too. Great prices!!!
The food was great along with the service and all of the people who work there. I had the carparcio and was great. I had the filet of sole, two people had chicken Marsala and one had the ravioli and said it was the best he ever had. The Italian cheesecake is a one of a kind and the cannoli was "give me another one please. .
Eat there before its to busy to get a reservation. We all LOVED IT
I live downtown and Colori Kitchen is just down the street. I'm rather partial to downtown and this didn't disappoint. We had a lovely time at this smallish place. There is no pretension, the food is very good and reasonably priced for downtown, and the ambience is quaint and the service is good. Due to the high ceilings, the noise level is a bit high, but not intolerable. The place is very good for a date, or a special occasion or if you just want a basically nice place to go out to eat at. Bring your own wine, they apparently have no liquor license, and the waiter will open your bottle for free. I will definitely go there again; I'm thinking of bringing my brother and his wife from Orange County here so they have a good taste of my neighborhood.
