Colorado Mountain Brewery Ratings and Reviews
Terrific service was the best part of our visit. Our competent and pleasant server, Erica, did a wonderful job of taking excellent care of our group of 6 adults. She saved the evening for us. The food, despite the online reviews, was really poor. The hamburger was tasteless and chewy. The pepita encrusted salmon (salad protein) was leather dry and old. The ribs were not meaty and doused in bottled sauce. The fish and chips were way over breaded and greasy. Since we were with good friends that we had not seen in a while our mild-mannered group of 50-something adults was unruffled by the terrible food at CMB. Yet since some of them were from back East, we felt is was a terrible welcome to the Colorado restaurant scene. The food at nearby Cheddar's is way better and that's not saying much.
Wanted to treat some friends to a meal before heading over to the next door movie theater. Noisy and we were somewhat poorly seated as one of our party was disabled and they put us at a table where other customer had to bump and climb over the wheelchair. Not comfortable to be in that place at all. In addition, the seafood tacos we received had one skinny strip of sea food meat among the heaping lettuce and cabbage and dressing. I will get the salmon salad next time.
Our server was quite energetic which was awesome. He took our order and everything seemed ok. Our drinks came all but one. Had to continue to remind the server for refills on that one drink. In addition, the meals did not come out correct. I understand that is not the server's fault but whomever was in expo position or running the food should have reviewed/confirmed the order with the ticket as it was rang in correctly.
The food was outstanding! Me and my friends all found different items that we enjoyed greatly! I tried the Blonde Ale draft beer (recommended by our waiter) and it was refreshing and great tasting. I am so glad I found this place while we were vacationing in Colorado! Great atmosphere and great service. Love love love this place.
There were 8 of us dining. 1 person did not receive their food until the other 7 were finished eating. While waiting, the waitress did bring french fries for the person. Only problem was we had french fries for the table as an appetizer and the chicken sandwich she ordered also came with french fries. Upon request the management did comp her entire meal.
I loved my Bison Meatloaf Wellington as did 2 others in our group. I believe everyone else also liked their food.
we had 4 adults and 6 kids. Our waitress was patient and attentive. She even gave us one round of happy hour drinks right at the buzzer - she must have known we needed it being outnumbered by kids. Food was great. Salmon tacos were really good. Kale Caesar with grilled shrimp was a good choice. Kids meals were reasonable. It's a great place to go for dinner or lunch to escape a pricey stay @ the Great Wolf Lodge (in walking distance). Thank you.
We are always looking for a good new place to eat especially if its a brewery, and well this was no disappointment. The food was excellent, the service was great, the beer was nearly unbeatable, and we had a great time. We would highly recommend it here. It was a great way to have lunch and catch up with my brother who was visiting from or of state. It gave me a chance to show off some of the CO. brewery experience that I brag about.
I visited this place alone for lunch on Wed 7/16 because I was in the neighborhood for business. Hostess was very friendly. Parking was easy. Sitting at the bar for lunch and the bartender was OK. Ordered a glass of Riesling and Pasta carbonara. The pasta was swimming in a pool of very salty sauce with little bacon/pancetta. Then I ordered naked chicken wings. Inside was raw. Note that what I ordered was very easy to make and should do no wrong at any restaurant. Very frustrated and disappointed with the quality of cooking and ingredient. I did not bother the bartender feeling it was pointless. He did not wonder either. Not going back at all except if my colleagues are looking for happy hour beer.
Me and my USAFA graduate had the NY Strip, it was cooked to perfection, subbed asparagus for the brussel sprouts tho. Wife had the chicken carbonara, was wonderful as well. Grandma had the Salmon, loved it too. Son #2 had the shrimp carbonara, excellent. And their Amber ale is to die for... Add the view of the Air Force Academy along with the large patios, just awesome. One of my favorite places in Colorado Springs.
We stopped the first time because we had received a book about Colorado breweries. We've gone back and taken friends because the food is fabulous, and the beer is excellent. Their small filet is delicious, as are the "Fourteener" burgers. The Bison Wellington is elegantly presented, as well as very tasty. We will be back!
We've enjoyed dining at both CMB locations in Colorado Springs. The Roundhouse location is the better of the two from a food perspective but both are good. The Interquest location is quieter that the Roundhouse location so if you're looking for a quieter dinner go there. Definitely recommend either.
Excellent beer. My wife and I had the seasonal beer. The food and wine is over-priced though. My veggie burger was mushy. The flavor was good, but it needed to be cooked longer. So I cannot give the food a rating higher than 'Good'.
Also consider offering a bison burger on your menu - I think it would be a big selling item for you.
I liked being greeted by a smiling face as soon as I walked in the door.
I also like the atmosphere, the large booth seating, and the server was very good as well.
I reserved our primary office staff lunch at the Colorado Mountain Brewery for 6 people. It was wonderful. The food was great, the server was very friendly, forgot her name :(. Only recommendation I have, don't put 6 people in a booth or at least ask if they prefer a booth or a table :)
The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is great. It's a great place for outdoor dining with the view of Pikes and the USAFA. I would suggest dining on the north side as opposed to the south to avoid smokers in the parking lot.
The Venison Eggrolls are consistently great. (The blueberry dipping sauce is a little too sweet and syrup-like for me. The sweet chili dipping sauce was better because the heat counter balanced the sweet.) The trout was SO dry. I alerted our server who very kindly took it off our bill and got sashimi out to me as quick as he could as a replacement. He was great. My husband's Mt. Beristadt burger had great carmelization on the crust, but again, was dry.
They were out of the signature beer and the seasonal beer was not ready. The food portion size was small for the price that we had to pay. Server did not seem very knowledgable about the food or beverages. Very disappointed that the restaurant was founded by Air Force academy alumni and they do NOT offer a military discount.
They put us in the bar which was extremely cold, we asked to move, then we received a fairly new server who got one of our
orders incorrect, when the order did come up, we waited for him to get it after seeing it on the counter for him to pick up.Then we had to request our check from him after waiting several minutes for him to come back. He did bring an appetizer which we didn't eat
since we were already finished dinner, no one in our party wanted a venison appetizer. He probably should have asked if he can bring a dessert for the table or give a refund on this one dinner. We were almost all finished with our dinners by the time the party got his corrected dinner.
Whenever we are in Colorado Springs we come here with our Co. family.
