I didn’t appreciate them adding a 20% service charge and not telling us. We almost didn’t see it and then we would have left a 40 percent tip. Due to this I am not sure I’d recommend this place to anyone
Service and wait staff were exceptional. They continuously checked in and made sure our table was well taken care of.
We had an amazing lunch to celebrate a family birthday! Everyone was very hospitable! The food was delicious as usual!
Several items on the online menu not available at the restaurant. Outdoor seating only and no indoor dining. Understaffed and advertised entertainment not present. Staff was pleasant and tried their best. Hotel and restaurant management lacking and online presence does not reflect the experience at the restaurant.
Way overpriced at $60 per person plus 20% included gratuity. $153 for two people for a mediocre breakfast was very disappointing. We arrived at 11:00 am, which was clearly too early for staff. Staff was not receptive when we were first seated. We awkwardly waited for service staff to arrive and take drink orders, they finally came after several minutes passed. I noticed that the table next to us arrived at noon and were promptly greeted. Overall, they seemed understaffed and we had to ask for coffee and mimosa refills a couple of times, which is never a great sign.
On our first trip to the buffet, food was way under temperature, which definitely was a health code violation. At some point, someone figured this out and warming trays were steaming on the second trip to the buffet.
Honestly, there wasn't much of a wow factor here. The ambiance was ok, the motown soundtrack was entertaining. There wasn't really anything special about the food though and for $153, you had best blow me away with food and service. Sadly, it all fell short. I would not recommend and I won't return.
Great service, verity of delicious foods .
Thank you to the people that took care of us. Special thanks to Ana for accommodating us.
Our waiter hardly came to check on us. I had to track him down a lot. I ordered drinks and specifically told him I do not like grey goose vodka. I requested my drinks be made with something else, but when I got the bill they upcharged me for grey goose in every cocktail. Our food also came out wrong, and then we had to wait forever for it to be remade. What saved the night was the live music. The singer was just great which made the ambiance better.
We had a wonderful experience at the Colonial room. It was quiet, service was exceptional, food was awesome and the place was super pretty and clean. We loved it there and will be back.
The Colonial Room has a great atmosphere, great food, and great service!
Very good and tasty food the sever was fast and kind to us and the room we where in was very pretty.
Thank you for a great Father's day meal, 2 Tomahawk steaks were perfect!
Our family enjoyed our weekly stay and dinner
The entire serving team, led by Anna and Ceasar, were a perfect compliment to our dinner! Thank you for a great day!
Darius and Dalia
Food was good but not great. Noisy tables around us lessened the ambiance. Service was just ok. Really not worth the price.
Thank you for The best Service with Cesars and Iris
Ford iš fantastic as well
We love this place

There were approximately 5 tables occupied. My husband & I were celebrating our anniversary. A large group was next to us. My husband ordered a beer after our meal and waitress completely forgot it saying she had to bring an order to room service!! We left without having the beer.
Best service I ever received and breakfast was simply great! Best breakfast spot for couples and groups looking for beautiful location. Did I say food was good!
You desperately need some additional help. Having a bartender is a must. the 2 servers were unable to keep up when it got busy. The other issue is the poor quality and scant few choices of wines you have to offer. I would highly recommend advocating a policy which encourages diners to bring their own wines - for a corkage fee of $20m per 750ltr. bottle.
Very beautiful hotel. The staff is nothing short of amazing. Brunch buffet was great, and the mimosas kept on getting poured! Such a great time with my family for Memorial Day weekend.
They advertised Jazz night but when we got there it was a dj playing music. It was very disappointing. The waiters were wonderful, the appetizers were better than the entree. It was supposed to be a girls night out listening to live jazz but we got the bait and switch
As far as high teas go, it is average. I don't care for their scones. Their selection of tea is mediocre. They did not have true clotted cream.
Service was excellent. Server was very nice and accommodating but overall, just a mediocre experience. The room was very nice and so is the hotel. They just need to work on their scones, clotted cream and tea selection. It is advertised as English, but needs a little more work to be considered English, especially for the price.
Great food. Fun music. Nice setting. Worth it. Easy to find and park, too.
Good place, nice vibes, great music, great food. We had a great time.
The service was top notch! From start to finish! Every person we encountered was very friendly and accommodating! We came for high tea but walked through and so many friendly people!
Our waitress provided us with the most amazing experience! Very attentive and never let our food and tea depleted!
Thank you to the Colonial team for the most memorable experience! Looking forward to returning!
We enjoy coming to the Drake Hotel for Mother’s Day over the last five years, with our family of 24. They have great service and treat us like their own family! The food is excellent and plentiful, and the drinks service is expeditious and always good. We look forward to coming back again soon.
Mother’s Day dinner Service good, order a tomahawk steak for 2 medium rare and came very rare. reflamed it and 100.00 steak was still undercooked but at this time tried to make something good from it. Took it home and tried it the next day and it tasted as it was spoiled. My mother in law ordered a prime rib was ordered med rare and arrived over cooked. Sent that back and problem was resolved. Would of expected more for the money spent. Will be last visit for us.
My family attended the Mother’s Day brunch and we all enjoyed ourselves. The food was great. The decor was so pretty and elegant. They gave all of the moms flowers which was so sweet. I would definitely attend again.
We had a wonderful Mothers Day Brunch at Colonial Room. Considering this was a buffet, the set up was great. Attendants were at each station taking direction from each guest to plate food and while every table was filled, the lines were relatively non-existent. There was a wide selection of food, sufficient to satisfy any specific dietary restrictions. The service was outstanding.
Went for Mother's Day brunch. Now, I know special occasions can be challenging for the staff but some of the issues were self inflicted.
First, you had to pay BEFORE being seated including gratuity. This is problematic because you are paying for service before it is rendered. Also, there is no wait staff responsible for your table. We were at the mercy of random servers for beverage service, questions or special requests. This also provides no incentive for good service and can have a negative impact on the servers' earnings.
Due to their "Covid" protocols, you were not allowed to serve yourself. At a BUFFET! The food was very good but the overall experience was bizarre.
For an all-in cost of almost $100/person I expected a better experience.
We were there for Mother’s Day brunch. It was awesome!!
Easy check in and I love the way they are handling covid seating and serving. You get in line and tell them what you want. They plate it and hand it to you and if you wanted a little more of something thing you just ask before moving on. Also the made to order omelet station the servers know what there’re doing with not to large or not to small omelets.
Food was great and the service was exceptional!!! For what was offered for food and all you can drink champagne mimosa and coffee price was not to high it was just right. I will be recommending them to my family, friends and coworkers.
Best brunch and service in the western suburbs!
Mother's Day brunch - food was good but the service was 100x better.
I went for Mother's Day where they jacked the price up 50% and told me "everything is included," but then I got charge for a bloody mary on top of the $75PP. Pretty good overall. Just know that "everything" does not include the one thing you may want to order, which is alcohol.
The brunch was a nice variety of food. Well organized and delicious. Service was impeccable. Management was very friendly. The whole experience was very inviting. Loved bar area also.
Made a reservation for 6 about 3 weeks in advance. Tried changing reservations on Tuesday May 4 to a party of 8 from 6 and was told no. Asked to be put on a waitlist and also to have someone from the colonial room call me to discuss reservations. Woman at front desk was very nice but I never received a return call. Called the Drake again on Thursday morning May 6th and left message on answering machine and call was not returned. Ended up not going to brunch myself instead of having a hassle at the restaurant. Extremely disappointed with the Drake. My family said the restaurant wasn’t crowded and certainly could have accommodated 2 more people on our reservation. Will be finding a new place to celebrate Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
We’re not I’ll only come for the meal, but we also come for an entertaining evening with Terry Higgins smooth jazz music. We always look forward to when he plays at the Drake Hotel. Thank you
As a party of eight with a reservation, we sat for at least 10 minutes without any server acknowledging us. After I went to find out what was going on, we sat for another 3-5 minutes before we had a server. Then, the server came by to take a drink order, took a few people's orders, and disappeared again for a few minutes before taking the remainder of the drink order. It was so unorganized, and once we got our food, it was average at best. Not at all what we expected for the very high prices. I would not recommend this restaurant.
This is a nice thing to do for special occasions. High tea is nice
Our Server was amazing! The lunch menu is excellent.
The food was excellent the portion was perfect the service was marvelous will recommend to all my friends. I had the Chilean Seabass and my husband had the Salmon excellent excellent excellent as the presentation was perfect we will be back
The Colonial Room owes us nothing! We felt like we were on vacation because the ambience was incredible. The food was delicious and the service was so friendly! We will definitely return! Thanks!
