The menu in the restaurant was completely different from online. Would’ve never gone if we knew the menu they really had. 1 vegetarian option for pasta dishes. Disappointing
The food was outstanding
Great restaurant with great vibe and energy. Enjoyed the Farfalle pasta with crab and shrimp. Meatball appetizer very good. If you love coffee go for the French Press!
Always a great meal, love the Pizza, excellent service and some the best Happy Hour deals for food & drinks in the area.
Met clients there for lunch and it was great all around.
My experience was top of the notch and our server was absolutely amazing... Justin was great!!
The entertainer so loud we could not have a normal conversation. The manager got the entertainer to reduce the volume but after one song the entertainer turned the volume even louder. The manager did not address a second time instead chose to ignore our table. We will not return for a second meal. Too many good restaurants in the area to put up with nonsense.
The food was amazing!
A group of us went to Colletta for my mother's birthday and it was wonderful! They have a great wine list and devine pasta thats made in-house! The meals are catered toward primarily traditional northern Italian dishes, but with a modern take. Everyone loved their meals and our waitress was absolutely lovely. I would defiantly recommend Colletta to a friend.
I love Coletta! Getting the chefs choice is my favorite and I always try things I otherwise would never have ordered. It was excellent, as always!
Both food and service were great. I will continue to go back to Colletta!
The group was delighted with everything. Definitely recommend!
Worst service I have ever had. Waitress seemed to think she was doing us a huge favor to come by at all. Rude. Actually made faces and asked if one of our guests wanted to keep drinking her glass of wine in a broken glass. Didn’t even bother to assist with getting the broken glass removed but we handled it on our own. Called the next day and manager Kevin apologized and said if we came back to let him know and he would make sure we were taken care of. I think he just wanted to get off the phone because he certainly gave us no reason to want to return so w won’t. Unfortunate because previously it was excellent. Thanks for making us realize where not to go to celebrate a special occasion.
Had a great time Sunday evening for dinner with Family friends.
Celebrating being alive!
I had the Chicken Parm and was extremely happy with my choice. the pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was so creamy.
My wife had the Pasta with Shrimp and other seafood. it disturbs me that i can not remember the name of the dish because she was impressed with the freshness taste of the seafood, again the pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection.
desert was New York Cheese cake with roasted berries. The manager commented that the only to have NY Cheese cake made is to have two New Yorkers in the Kitchen. He did not realize that our dining companions were from Brooklyn and agreed that that was some of the best Cheese Cake outside of the City...they also brought out Ricotta cheese fritters covered with power sugar and custard side for us to celebrate me being alive.
a big thank you to the staff for making our first visit amazing.
I have been a few times and this wasn't one of the better experiences. When we were seated we waited for about 10 minutes before being greeted and even getting waters poured. I know it was a Saturday night but the server seemed to struggle with doing multiple things at once since he'd go to a table, then kitchen or bar, go to a table then kitchen or bar wasn't very efficient so unfortunately it just dragged on the entire evening. Once I finally ordered the Lasagna Bolognese a couple minutes later the manager whom I will say was very friendly and helpful came back and let me know that they were out of the lasagna which was surprising since it was only 8 o'clock on a Saturday night. So I ordered something else right away and the manager compensated myself and my date with a half order of another pasta that was pretty tasty. Overall it was just a poor experience due to overall service, hoping it was just an off night!
Our first time at this restaurant, celebrating my birthday. Great pasta, you can tell that it is handmade at the restaurant. We ordered simple dishes, but they were all great. We will definitely come back.
Our favorite Italian Comfort Food spot. Top notch wait staff and servers. Food is always prepared to perfection. Service is what you wish EVERY restaurant had as their standard.
My recent visit to Colletta for lunch was just like always-perfect. Free valet makes parking easy and the $10 lunch specials are a real value. Food quality & service were exceptional. It is one of my favorites in Avalon.
Great food and wonderful service!
Overall, the pasta dishes were very good as was the service. The pork dish was the least favorite of the group. Probably the most pricey Italian we have eaten.
Ricotta is amazing! Lasagna was good too.
Great service. Great food.
We have eaten at Colletta before and have always had wonderful experiences. We made a reservation on Open Table for 6 people at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday. We go there at 7:15 and checked in. The table was not ready yet. We headed to the bar to get a drink- the bar was PACKED with people and food everywhere. We stood there for 10 minutes and never got approached by the bartender. We then headed to the outside couch area to wait for our table. We did not get seated until 8:45. The manager did approach us and apologized and let us know there was a glitch in the reservation system and they were very overbooked. He covered a full table of appetizers. Once the food was served- it was delicious!
Cool place. Good food. Somewhat small menu and smallish portions sizes.
Nice restaurant, food is a bit pricey (which would have been ok) and dishes were salty. Not a bad spot, with some attention toward the kitchen it could be very good.
Great food and our waitress was great too!
Service was very slow...pasta dish too salty...Mgr made up for it with free dessert
It was my first time there and I truly enjoyed it.
My grown son and I had a 6:15 p.m. reservation on Mother's Day but arrived much earlier after going to a movie. Just before 5:00 p.m., we asked the hostess if they could accommodate us an hour earlier and she told us yes, that the restaurant wasn't opening for another 5-10 minutes, but told us we could sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited. We went to the bar and quickly engaged in conversation with one of the bartenders and asked if we could have the television turned on so we could watch the NBA while having a cocktail and waiting for the hostess to seat us. In the meantime, there were 4 other patrons who sat at the bar, also waiting for a table. They were quickly given menus, water and asked what they wanted to drink by the other bartender. No one offered us menus or water or anything! WHY were we being treated differently than the others who sat at the end of the bar? I quickly (and nicely) pointed that out and asked why we offered anything? We were quickly given the answer that they weren't taking walk-ins for the evening due to Mother's Day. Why did she think we were walk-ins? We had made reservations several days ahead. And what difference did it make when I said the hostess asked us to wait at the bar while our table was being prepared. The two young ladies obviously didn't like that I called them out about the difference in service and "snidely" apologized.
To move our experience in a positive direction, I told them that we wanted to start over, hopefully how we started would not be an indication of how dinner and the service would be for the evening or else we would leave to have dinner at one of the other restaurants in Avalon. I will say, in the end, they quickly changed their attitudes and provided us with menus and water. After all of that, we decided to eat dinner in the bar instead of taking a table.
Coletta... is a cute corner local cafe type restaurant with a healthy Italian choice, fresh foods menu. I have never been disappointed. Great Chefs and Great Service. Smiling Hostesses!
We attended Colletta on Mother's Day in which they had their brunch menu. I found the menu to be limited for someone with gluten allergies. I tried to order gluten free pasta but they were out of it. I was limited to eggs & potatoes, not exactly Italian. My son was on only able to get french fries... disappointing.
Food was great! We were there for Mothers Day Brunch. The only issue we had was with the hostess. She kept seating people before us even though we had a reservation. I asked her how our table was coming along and she was very short with me, not nice at all. When we sat down at the table she forcefully stated have a good meal but it was so forced no one at our table believed her. Other than the hostess being rude, the food was excellent and our server did a great job!
We brought our Mothers for Brunch. The menu was very limited. Would have liked to have been able to order off the regular menu.
Colletta has always been one of my favorite restaurants! I have come for many birthdays , anniversaries , mothers day brunch, and more and I have never left disappointed. Even when we had one slip up with the food having been delivered to the wrong table causing a delay in our meal, the manager promptly had complimentary apps sent to the table and they took care of our bill. It is a modern open concept while still feeling cozy and energetic. Everything from the presentation of the food, quality of the ingredients , and taste of the dishes are really worth trying out :)
Great breakfast with my wife for Mother’s Day. Our waiter was outstanding and the food (as always) was exceptional!!!
Great service, excellent food, friendly staff. The bar area is good for after work drinks.
This was my second time at Colletta and the food was just as excellent as the first time. The pasta is truly authentic and made from scratch. I highly recommend the buratta and the short rib!
I was taken to Colletta for my birthday and it was so enjoyable and tasty, I made mental note to bring my husband back for the meatballs. They are outstanding and unlike any dish I have ever had anywhere else. My husband enjoyed the veal chop and I loved the red grouper. For dessert we had cannoli and coffee for dessert. Oh my gosh what a meal! The coffee was the best I have ever had in a restaurant. Colletta is now my favorite “nicer” local restaurant.
