About Colletta

Traditional Italian flavors fill the airy, modern space of Colletta at Avalon. The restaurant promises excellence from its kitchen, featuring a wood-fire pizza oven, grills and rotisseries. A craft cocktail program showcases Italian classics such as Negroni , Amaro and house made Italian sodas. Rustic entrees, pastas, house-cured meats and wood-fire pizzas fill the restaurant’s menu which changes seasonally. In addition to the a la carte menu, a 4 course family-style menu created by chef Jason Stern allows guests to enjoy the full spectrum of Colletta’s cuisine and Italian dining customs.

Went here for a random date night because we heard good things and the night started out great but fizzles at the end. Ambiance is great, cheese plate and bread awesome but our waiter was a little pushy and didn’t check on us as the night got busier so we waited for our food a little too long. Pasta was cooked perfectly but didn’t have a lot of flavor! Will give Colleta one more try but hesitantly!

Food was great! Server was awful!! She didn’t listen to anyone. She then dropped a plate with red sauce all over a patrons pant leg and left. She didn’t help him out. Finally the hostess came over then maybe a manager. The waitress was very inexperienced for this type of restaurant.

We had a great bartender that recommended the lasagna that turned out to be the best lasagna I have ever had. Can't wait to go back and have it again.

The food is okay. I will say that their home made vanilla soda is wonderful. Tastes more like a cream soda than vanilla as advertised. Overall, I think we could have made comparable pasta dishes at home with no hiccups. The bread that comes before your meal is hard as a rock. Would have been nice to have a softer bread for dipping in the oil and balsamic mixture. Our server was Phillip and he was pretty chill so that helped.

PS The sister restaurant next door (Oak) is hands down 100% better.

Always a great experience and a reminder that if you are OTP North, there is no reason to look for a great meal in the big city. Jeff, the manager keeps everything running on time and his staff is always attentive and nice. Will be dining there again, sooner the better.

Service slow, very slow. 2 1/2 hours for a casual meal.
When dessert arrived no silverware. After waiting for over 5 minutes for someone to bring spoons I approached an employee and asked for spoons. Few minutes later server shows up with forks. Said ran out to of spoons and had to wash forks to give to our table. First time experience eating gelato with a fork!

We were delighted by the staff, the food, the wine recommendations, the desserts! I asked the table for a moment of silence while I enjoyed the grouper with English pea purée, farro, and shiitake mushrooms. Absolutely wonderful experience.

Excellent service and food. It was a birthday celebration and we received a beautiful complimentary platter with happy birthday written in chocolate and contained 2 desserts. One of the nicest celebration desserts I have ever seen! Thank you for a wonderful and special bday lunch!

Our experience was wonderful, aside from the hiccup with the hostesses; I’d made a reservation and for some reason it took much longer than the norm to locate my name, even after providing the correct spelling of both first and last name multiple times. Although this wasn’t a great start, it definitely didn’t overshadow how amazing everything else was. The seating, the lighting, the waitress’s knowledge and fluency of the menu, the wine selection, the food quality— everything was spectacular. The General Manager, Jeff, even stopped by several guests’ tables to check on us. I don’t usually like pasta, but I took a chance at Colletta... and I’ll definitely be going back for more!

The food at Colletta is fantastic. We went on a rainy Monday when the place was very empty and still had terrible service. The waiter never brought bread. When we got out cheese plate appetizer we asked for bread again (as no crackers or bread were served with it). The delivery seemed annoyed and it took us another 5 minutes to get it. Still no oil with the bread. Our food was great when it came out but the waiter never refilled my sons ginger ale which was especially bad because he was recovering from being intubated and had a very sore throat. We waited and waited for a to go box and the bill. The manager finally came to the rescue. We all wish we could have left him the tip.

In summary the food is to die for but the waitstaff needs to be retrained or replaced.

The food was decent, but the service was poor. Our waitress asked us if we wanted bread and olive oil, which we did, but didn't bring it out. She also never refilled our drinks - I believe the manager finally came over and refilled them. Ravioli was pretty good, but it did not come with protein, so I added two meatballs. That was a total cost of $22. It wasn't $22 good.

The Red Grouper with pea puree, faro and mushrooms was the best seafood dish I have had inside or outside the perimeter in the last 10 years. Outstanding! Kind of like a clever play on shrimp and grits but better.

This was our second visit, and has quickly become my favorite new restaurant. Every course was absolutely amazing, and the service is just terrific. Both times we have had Camilla as our waitress, and she is an absolute delight. She has made excellent recommendations, and is just as charming as can be. We will definitely be back soon!

I thought the food was good my ravioli was exceptional. I asked about the size of the Caesar salad and he said it was 8 ounces. When it came it was in a large bowl with what I thought was two full servings. At lunchtime this was too much. My husband and I would’ve been happy to split.

Always love this restaurant, but I particularly appreciated this experience. The staff went way out of their way to create a great experience for us. We showed up way early for our reservation (totally my fault). The only available table was a high-top, which we accepted, but quickly realized that it was the wrong decision for a few reasons I won't bother mentioning. The manager and staff were extremely accommodating in finding us another table (on Christmas Eve, of all nights) and ensuring we had a great dining experience. Thank you very much for all you did.

We were early for our reservation and they said we can wait at the bar and be seated in 5 minutes. We went and checked 20 minutes later and they said soon. Then we saw the hostess looking for someone so my friend asked if she was looking for us. She said no. Another 15 minutes later (50 minutes total) I check again at hostess stand and she says “you weren’t seated?” Obviously No. she sent someone to a table and says oh no we sat the wrong party. We were lucky someone for up from the bar and ate there. We were disappointed nobody from management acknowledged the screwup. Our food and drinks were good but sour to the hostess area attitude and nonchalant attitude to our situation that they created.
