Dinner was amazing. Great options on the menu packed with flavor. A place to check out for sure.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our brunch, especially the bottomless Mimosas and the waiters -- who were very attentive and never obtrusive.
The food is amazing. The grilled corn is a must have on every visit
I made a reservation at Colibri a day or two before some friends came to town, and hoped to show them a good time with some authentic Mexican food. We arrived on time, and were taken to a table DEEP in the back of the place. They sat us right next to the food preparation area, where the cooks chopped food, banged pots and pans, and otherwise added to this already maddeningly loud area of the restaurant. We soon learned that a small partition next to our table housed the area where the bus boys took the dirty dishes, owing to the persistent CLASH and SMASH of various plates and the ringing sound of silverware dropped into buckets.
It would seem that, in their mad dash to make as much money as possible, Colibri's managers have decided to use each and every square inch of floor space to house tables with paying customers, regardless of how this might affect their dining experience. I couldn't help thinking to myself that we'd been sat at the very worst table in the place, but soon learned that an even WORSE table was nearby. A small table about the size of a monopoly game board was squeezed between us and the booth nearby, with two chairs uncomfortably fitted on either side. Pity the poor souls who get stuck there!
I informed our waiter that we would not be staying if we had to remain at this insane table, and requested that he move us. Apologetically, he explained that they had "many reservations that night." I responded, "Yes, and mine is one of them." He smiled, and said he'd need to check with the Maître d' first. He eventually returned, and sat us in a booth. The noise level continued unabated, but at least we were free from the pain of feeling like part of the help.
Interestingly, as we left the restaurant, I realized that the front of the place was much nicer and quite a bit less noisy. I somehow hadn't noticed this on our way in. I strongly suggest demanding a table in that area if you decide to eat here.
I was there for a business lunch during JP Morgan’s conference week. The food was great which helped my meeting go well.
I’ll be back when I’m next in San Francisco - the mole was phenomenal
Disappointing. This restaurant used to be so much better, now the food is merely pedestrian.
Nice & cosy restaurant and good value for money. Great Tequila collection (over 200 kinds). Good food at reasoanble price.
A date with my husband while visiting San Francisco. Just took s Chance and were pleasantly surprised. Yelp helped. Give this restaurant a try...you will be glad you did. Very kid friendly.
We loved this restaurant. The service and food was fabulous.
The place itself was good but it's a bit small and narrow. However the service was not that great. They brought us three different types of salsa however they never brought us our chips to accompany the salsa. We then asked our server if we could get some chips, however he never brought them, until he made another round to our table and we asked him again and until then he brought over the chips. Which was kind of late since they had already brought our food.
The food was okay, I have had way better Mexican food at a cheaper price. For the price of each plate I say it's not worth it. They're mostly charging you for the location. than the quality of the food.
