Our server was great
Extremely slow serve
Food quality was bad
This place has put down the collette name can not even compare it with the one used to be in Downtown. Disappointment
Come for afternoon tea
tbh, I can only use the word “overpriced” to describe my experience
The food was fine, it was just really, really loud.
hightea is really disapponted though the environment is good（at yorkdale hr） bread is so hars and dry. the scone too sweet...
Service was extremely slow and you can sense that management and staff were unorganized. Food was fine but nothing special. My afternoon tea sandwiches and desserts tasted stale, like it's been sitting out for a while (unacceptable considering I'm paying $65 per person). I wouldn't come back for afternoon tea again.
The food is good and it is a very good English aftertea. The service is good and the environment is awesome and quiet.
Excellent service and food, as usual.
We had the avocado toast this time (we had the afternoon tea last time and fell in love with the avocado toast for the tea) - which is absolutely fantastic! They made into an absolutely delicious meal with protein.
Service was excellent. The manager is always friendly and happy, and ensures all clients are happy.
Don't hesitate to go to Colette's at Yorkdale!
Food was inedible. Brussel sprouts were tasteless and sweet potato in them was bad. Cauliflower was rubbery. Pasta tasted with mushroom soup and wasn’t eaten. Niçoise salad was bland and had no taste, small portion also. The only dish liked between four people was the kale salad.
Terrible. Was there on a Saturday evening with3 other girlfriends. They didnt have half of the items we ordered cause they had "run out". The restaurant was only 10% full. They didnt even have the wine we requested. My friend's pasta sauce was so thick and pasty, I've had better crab cakes frozen from the grocery store. There are plenty of other selections in the mall. Stay away from here.
Awful!! Just awful. We drove an hour and a half to Toronto to have a nice lunch and go shopping at Yorkdale. Collette was awful!!!
Let me preface this review by saying we loved going to Colette when it was in downtown Toronto. Amazing service. Beautifully ambiance. Great food! But at this Holt Renfrew location it was garbage!
We waited for 22 minutes to have someone come to our table ask if we wanted water!!!!
The whole place was empty other than our table and one other. Empty!!!!
We had 3 different waiters walk by us numerous times and some guy was standing by the bar the whole time and no one came to us!
We left as soon as the water boy came to the table...the guy that was standing by the bar the whole time we were there.
We were NEVER acknowledged until that 22 minutes mark.
Disgusted! No wonder it was empty and Restoration Hardwares Restaurant was an hour and a half wait.
Keep it up Colette, with that service I can see your doors closing up!
Signed...two disappointed and offended once upon a time patrons.
Great food! Beautifully decorated and nice ambiance! Will definitely visit again to try some of the other menu options.
Very good service and quality of food
Good food and relaxing spot after shopping
Afternoon tea was great and you can always ask more if you want. The environment was quite nice and service was really good. Especially when you go for an afternoon tea, you will receive a little gift from jo Malone which is totally a surprise for me
We were disappointed with our lunch
There were problems, no decaf and not suitable tuna for Niçoise salad. The manager was very apologetic and took care of our lunch which was the right thing to do
I will go back and hope that the restaurant is better organized with their menu needs
Their afternoon tea items are all set. They are willing to give substitution for my allergies. Other cafe (located in the same mall) has no substitution for allergies.
Nice hidden restaurant away from the crowds of Yorkdale. Actually quite a bargain for the food and great service.
I ordered the vegan pasta, despite repeating my request 3 times to two diff waitresses (and they checked with kitchen and agreed to making changes), there was no change at all to what was on the menu, highly disappointing! the restaurant was EMPTY, it would've been nice for the chef to come and find out what I really wanted instead of two diff waitresses running back and forth and still giving me exactly what was on the menu.
My Italian dietitian friend (who is well versed in food) and I had the tiramisu- not sure how this fits with the "French-inspired cuisine" but worst of all, this was the first tiramisu to be topped with heavy fruits and chocolate chips!!! if we wanted a parfait, we would've gotten it for cheap. What a waste of $10 bucks!
last point: The waitresses are clueless about both food and tea. Our waitress knew nothing about Sloane tea but thankfully I did so I was able to help my friend w/ the menu.
I wanted to meet with the manager and request for a refund but we already had a bad time, we didn't want to stress ourselves out by further engaging in a conversation.
The food was sub par. The mushroom pasta and the sausage and eggs was disappointing. Wouldn’t go back.
Food was decent but not as good as Bazille in nearby Nordstrom.
Good service from the attentive staff.
Great cappuccinos and lattes too.
There were three sets of tables on one side being taken care of and the attention to each table seemed to be lacking. The waitress always seemed busy talking to her co-worker instead of checking in to see if guests required anything.
Also, when a meal was requested to be done well as it looked uncooked, the waitress took the plate gracefully then went to the back, made a facial expression that looked as if something snobby was being said about the complaint.
Overall, the restaurant is a great place to dine.
Very enjoyable. Not noisy. Excellent food.
The afternoon te was exquisite and the service beyond outstanding.
Only one suggestion: you should serve the classic scones with cream and strawberry jam.
Continue your excellent work!
Went on a Sunday for their Sunday high tea, it came out on a plate. The presentation looked like something you make at home. Sandwiches were dry. Scones are not fully cooked. Overall not worth the value. Extremely under staff on weekends, has to wait 20 mins just to get water, and they never returned to table to check on you. Not the experience you would expect inside Holts
My experience at Colette downtown was so good in every way. My experience at the holt renfrew location was the exact opposite. Poor food and poor service.
We had a 9:45am reservation and the restaurant didn’t open until 10am. Not sure then why they would take reservations.
Terrible service, mediocre food. I expected a lot more
The new location is nothing close to the atmosphere and the food quality like it was at Thompson Hotel.
Was my number 1 brunch place!
Won’t be coming back.
The worst service, not enough wait staff at all. It is a managment problem. My nicioise salad was the most boring and flavorless salad ever, same with their ...Cappuccinos they were flavorless! This was most disapointing as it was not cheap. I will never go again.
The Yorkdale location doesn’t have the buffet brunch. They don’t have the space for it. They only have a menu. So if that’s what you’re looking for, go to the downtown toronto - Wellington location instead. But make reservations.
The waiter was really good at suggesting substitutes for my gluten/egg/dairy free teenage daughters.
I have the 4 star because I was very disappointed that they didn’t have the brunch, and although the website doesn’t say that they a buffet, it also doesn’t say they don’t have a buffet, unlike the colettes on Wellington.
The food was great. The serving for the black kale salad was really really big. They also have bottomless coffee.
Runs washroom thousand times after! 😞
Restaurants did not take gift cards even though they are a part of the Chase group because they are inside Holt Renfrew. Food was okay for the price, restaurant was small and not nice like the old location.
For Colette, I expected at least a two tier tray to separate the sweet and the savoury, but nope everything was just placed on one plate
Poor service. Food mediocre and over priced for quantity. Avoid at all cost.
Service was amazing BUT screaming children should NOT be allowed especially if the parents are irresponsible enough to allow them to continuously scream!! I know you can’t screen irresponsible parents but you can enforce a rule that CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12 ARE NOT ALLOWED in the restaurant!!!!! It makes a nice restaurant feel like a flea market.
Afternoon tea with my daughter for her birthday. Excellent service. Very attentive and courteous staff. Tea sandwiches were very good. Mini scones not very scone-y. Had an almost fried taste. Crispy on outside. Good, but not a scone. Desserts were delicious.
First of all, it was difficult to book for afternoon tea with only a few spots available. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty with plenty of space. It did not get any busier during our time there, so the difficulty booking did not make any sense. Then, they sat us down with the lunch menus and our waiter seemed surprised when we said we were having afternoon tea and asked for those menus instead. When the sandwiches and sweets arrived, they were not very elegantly displayed - just sitting in rows on simple white plates. I expected more for a cafe inside Holt Renfrew. On top of the lacklustre presentation, the food was just OK. There was nothing that "wowed" us on the plates. The scones were "micro-mini" and so small and dry that it was almost impossible to cut them open and put the jam and cream inside them. Most teas come with some type of decadent chocolate dessert or at least a truffle, but there was nothing of the sort on that plate. The waiter was very pleasant and did bring more hot water for the teas and checked on us regularly. Once we were done and were ready for the bill, we asked the waiter if we could take the last few pastries on the plate home. He then proceeded to bring my friend a napkin to put them in - not even a paper box or container of any sort - just a paper napkin. To add insult to injury, I was treating my friend using a gift card I had received from The Chase Group. It clearly states on the card that it can be used at any of The Chase group restaurants including Collette. When I went to pay, the waiter informed me that I could not use the gift card since Holt Renfrew had not yet "figured it out" with The Chase Group and had no way to process gift cards from them. Overall, I was not happy with my afternoon tea there and will not be returning.
Came to try the Afternoon Tea set. Food was great, although not everything was my cup of tea. The service was above and beyond anything I've had before and really elevated the experience. Would definitely recommend!
If you are at Yorkdale and don’t care about a large menu choice or healthy gluten free choices, or good service, or meciocre ambiance, then this is the place for you.
