We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Steak Tartare, Mussels, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée, Beignets... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday.
The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, more than 30 references by the glass! But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.
We are located in the Porter Square Hotel in Cambridge.
My 4th visit and I've recommended it to many friends ever since my first visit. A wonderful, constantly changing menu which is consistent in quality and delights every time. The drinks list is comprehensive- fun cocktails and a broad selection of wines for every taste. The staff are attentive without being obtrusive, helpful, pleasant and professional. My favorite place in Cambridge right now for sure!
Fantastic as always. Great drink selection and food options!
The noise level was deafening...louder than the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. The food is erratic at best. I gave it a second chance too.
Whatever else the French can’t do, they CAN do food. Delicious at every level and dish. The desserts were ridiculously scrumptious. We were seated at a good tucked away table and although it was quite loud, we were 3 couples out without kids and we had a great time.
Excellent food in a beautiful ambiance. It is expensive - especially for its location. And the chairs in the lounge are bit low, relative to the table height. Overall, the service was really good and the experience was excellent.
Good food, attentive staff, but a bit loud for conversation between 4 people. Large space, pretty decor, questionable acoustics!!
everyone's different but for our family the big problem was noise: we couldn't remotely hear each other. a second issue was wild variation in the quality of the dishes (admittedly, we didn't span the whole menu). the truffle crepe was exquisite (6 stars!), the baby kale and other salads? excellent. My steak was perfectly cooked but bit flavorless, and my wife's was tough (both our frites were soggy!). pistachio-encrusted pork? amazing, but the chicken about average. service? perfect. overall, colette lost a star for us since our first visit a few months ago. I'd definitely still recommend it (really), but it's no longer in the same league as bergamot, and giulia (actually, nothing's in the same league as giulia, so that's not entirely fair).
I have been to Colette many times and introduced many friends to the restaurant. Everyone loves it! Especially the onion soup. Small plates make it easy to try several different wonderful creations.
Colette is a very nice Brunch place to hang out. The food was excellent and so was the service. The ambience is also very charming. Totally would recommend coming here!
Great service and food!
We had a lovely evening at Colette. The service was warm, charming and efficient, although with a pleasant, relaxed feel and the food was delicious. I'm happy to have found a new treasure and will definitely be back.
The food is amazing, really French delicate. We can tell the chefs care every details of the food are made. We will definitely come again.
I rarely post reviews, but this was such a lovely experience I had to. Attentive and gracious service, amazing food and wine, lovely dining room.
We enjoyed the delicious steak with a bottle of red wine!! A little bit noise at times. Nice server! Will go again
Lovely setting - beauty and comfort. Attentive staff. Good food.
Good food - it was heavy though. Service so-so; they didn't put the order in correctly; we also ordered starters and they brought all the food out at once. The interior is really beautiful and they have some outdoor seating.
Colette was a fantastic experience: we loved every aspect. The decor and furniture is classy bohemian, the food was delicious, the alcohol selection great, and the service was really phenomenal. We can't wait to go back!
This is the 3rd time I have dined at Colette. The food is excellent.
Great waiter service. Food was excellent and tasty
We decided to try this place for our anniversary. We had an early reservation, and were first seated in a table near the front with comfy chairs. It was very romantic, but the outdoor seating required that the door behind us be opened, and it was chilly, so we asked to move. The new seats were further back. There are a number of 2 person bistro style tables and chairs toward teh back. These aren't as comfortable. Still, we found the ambiance quite lovely, and the food was also very good. I especially liked the mushroom appetizer.
Our table was beside a windowless section, of wall, which was unpleasant, & was excessively dark. (Too dark to read the menu.) We had a long wait for the entrees, but service was otherwise fast, cheerful, & attentive.
The food was tasty, the wine bottle good, the appetizers & dessert better still.
I was impressed that even the vegan in our group left satisfied.
The smallest order of mussels for an entree, even small for an appetizer size. They were good. Our appetizer never came. Pork over cooked. Berry soup delicious. Service inattentive.
Perfect Rhône Valley dinner !
5 courses, 5 wines... everything was just perfect !
Thank you Colette for this amazing dinner
Colette is consistently excellent. The scallops appetizer, steak frites, crême brûlée, wines, etc. were all perfect. Dining outdoors on a cool summer evening was icing on the cake. Highly recommended.
Love having brunch outdoor on a sunny day. The ambiance is wonderful and food is excellent.
Had a lovely leisurely dinner with old friends. Loved the cozy atmosphere. Service was attentive and knowledgeable about the food. Everything we ordered was delicious. Finally a real French restaurant in Porter Square!
This place has lots of potential. Very reasonable wine special and price. Good menu selections.
Very good service. Unfortunately the lobster in the pasta dish was way overcooked, and the ceviche strayed way far off from a typical ceviche. Too weird. Great sourdough bread. Except for the wine specials, the regular wine list was on the very pricey side.
Colette was truly tres charmante! The room was so lovely with the beautiful chandeliers and the floral wall covering. Food was wonderful and the service impeccable.
The food is terrific. I had the scallop appetizer--exquisite--and the veg risotto--delicious. The chocolate mousse was not great but it was good. The bar tender recommended a good substitute for Tangueray 10, which I usually have in a martini. My dinner wine (Megaphone--Grenache/syrah) was very good. My only COMPLAINT is a significant one: Having been greeted not entirely promptly when I sat down, it was 20 minutes before I got my drink. Too bad since everything else was good.
Everything we expected from a restaurant where Cyrille Couet is the chef! Truffledilla was an eye-opening flavor treat. Mushroom Vol Au Vent spectacular as always. Oyster appetizer has a mignonette to die for, and the mussels entree was delicious! Our only quibble is that the small table can get a bit busy, but the staff is attentive and does a good job of watching the progress of the meal. We cannot wait to return.
Fantastique! Great place.
Excellent food, good service and convenient location.
Such a great addition to the neighborhood. The salad and cocktails were superb and the rest of the (brunch) food was very good. Pleasant, relaxed ambiance.
Our second time here, and once again superb! My skate (fish) entree was delectable. My wife’s frisée was good, with an interesting twist of thinly sliced duck in the mix, although the egg was cooked a hair too long. Service was attentive but not intrusive.
Colette has definitely become one of our go-to choices in the neighborhood!
Everything was great. Wish my creme brûlée would’ve been on point as my food. (Warm on the top)
Overall good and will recommend to friends
Had a very enjoyable experience all round. Our waitress was very new to the job, but sweet and eager to please. The food a real treat. Recommend both the wild mushroom and the scallop appetizer. The salmon entree was so fresh and tender, with a sauce to die for (what I love about French cuisine). Also, I am very sensitive to noise, and while this is not a quiet restaurant by any stretch of the imagination, the conversation from the bar and the other tables was not overly intrusive. I found the ambience very pleasant and the wait staff friendly and attentive.
The ambiance is stellar, we went for my birthday and it was a great celebration dinner!
The food was terrible! This is so sad, as I’ve been going to Colettes since it opened. It has gone way down.
What a charming place! Relaxed yet attentive service, soft decor and just a lovely experience. I had a chicken breast that was perfectly cooked with a delicious mashed potato and spinach. Definitely will go again.
