We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Steak Tartare, Mussels, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée, Beignets... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday.
The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, more than 30 references by the glass! But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.
We are located in the Porter Square Hotel in Cambridge.
Came here to celebrate two birthdays for brunch early on a Sunday morning (9:30). Had a choice of tables. Very attentive staff, leisurely time. Food was uniformly excellent, especially the omelette and breakfast potatoes. Highly recommend and definitely will be back.
Food was disappointing. Fries too greasy. Cappuccino very disappointing
Booked for a surprise birthday party for my girlfriend. The service was great, the staff took great care of our table. Even on a very busy night they sure did everything to make her dinner party a success. The food was Five star, and everyone enjoyed there meals. Thank you Colette staff for making last night a wonderful celebration!
The food, especially the salmon, was amazing! We loved everything we got, and it was such a fun and energetic vibe! Highly recommend
Romantic enough for an anniversary But stylish enough for Brent with your girlfriends.
This is a restaurant where it is fun to sit and look around! The food was excellent--a crème brulée worthy of the French! Main brunch dishes were also exceptional. The waiters were friendly and never far away if we needed anything, even though the restaurant was pretty full. All in all, we plan to go back!
Late lunch on a Saturday. Very funky interior immediately enticing until a family including a crying baby was seated next to us.
We both enjoyed both the generous glasses of wine we chose and loved our food, mine a veggie covered tartine with an accompanying potato and onions in a small skillet. His, a layered seasonal salad with a side of fries. Attractively prepared and delicious to eat.
Prices were very correct. We would go back in a heartbeat and wish Colette was in our neighborhood..hopefully no baby next time
I don't think I have encountered a more disappointing brunch in the Greater Boston area. The potatoes were so bland that even I felt the need for salt even though I prefer low sodium dishes. The caramelized onions on the bland, burn-your-tongue potatoes were stone cold. The duck confit was super salty and dry and I ended up removing the duck entirely from my plate. The croissant may be made in house but it could have fooled me with how cold it was. Finally, though advertised as fresh grapefruit juice, the closest it could claim to being fresh is being poured from an overly shaken fresh new box of concentrate. All in all, I wouldn't take my worst enemy here for brunch.
Some dishes we tasted were very good. Fried cauliflowers were the best. Thai mussels had cold shell and warm meat with Thai coconuts and curry spice flavors. By contrast, lamb shank did not come with the bone and was mediocre. Champagne sorbet had strong alcohol smell. We may come back again.
The food is imaginative and tasty. The ambience is lovely. The service friendly, but nonintrusive. This is great place for a date night.
We had our first thanksgiving away from home this year and Colette provided a warm, friendly experience for our party of eight. We will definitely be back!
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Collette's. It was fabulous! We ordered different entrees - steak, lamb, salmon, and the traditional T'giving turkey. All excellent, as was the selection of wine to match each course of our meal. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner, best turkey ever, great and friendly service, nice portions. I hope they'll repeat the pecan chocolate pie for Christmas. We plan to return, I'll be happy with a salad and dessert! Highly recommend.
A friend and I went to Colette's for Thanksgiving dinner and had a lovely meal despite a few glitches around vegan options (I had called ahead). Nonetheless, I was graciously accommodated and we both enjoyed delicious food with friendly, professional service. We promptly booked another dinner date!!
They had a really good selection of wines. The food was pretty good as well!
We were welcomed by a friendly hostess who seated our party at a comfortable booth that permitted us to have great conversation without screaming at each other’s around the table . Also an excellent friendly waitress who was very attentive to us not only suggested but presented great French food .
Simple food but yet deliciously prepared with the freshest produce available at the farmers
Make room for desserts they are just deliciously prepared.
The ambiance is young and vibrant , perfect for a dinner with friends or a date .
Really great looking place for brunch!
Great food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend.
Well prepared food with an interesting wine list. The waitstaff were excellent. I followed recommendations of the server and was impressed by the taste and quality. Definitely a memorable meal.
Friendly to babies!
It was a very nice restaurant but it was very noisy and our food came out very slowly. Despite that our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. She made amazing recommendations. The decor is very fun. I would come again maybe at a less busy hour. The dessert was amazing !
Very pleasant ambiance ( although, someone briefly turned up the lights to full glare). Food was excellent. The service was correct and helpful, but the pacing was very leisurely. We were there over an hour before we had our entrées.
Such great service. And beautiful place.
Love it!! Drinks were so good and love the decore. Staff was super friendly.
The food was great; server Kristin was friendly, but slow, inattentive and repeatedly did not pay attention to my answers to her questions. 10+ minute wait to be greeted by Kristin; our drink order took over 30 minutes and yeah, my Manhattan up was delivered as an old fashioned on ice! I politely brought it to her attention, 6 minutes later I get a Manhattan on ICE, not up! I just accepted it! Second round, I asked for soda water, she asked me lemon or lime? I replied lime, thanks. Yeah, I got lemon!
Also restaurant owners or management, the cutesy bistro tables are almost useless!!! Get small square tables that work best for any party more than 1 person!!!
Excellent food. Friendly staff. Fantastic to have a more upscale option in the neighborhood.
This was ok but not what one expects for a French Bistro. The appetizers (cauliflower, escargot, charcuterie plate) were good but they were served very fast. The waitress then proceeded to take the plates while we were still chewing. The wine pours were carefully measured but a bit small for $14/glass. The biggest disappointed was the lamb "shank" which was really an off the bone stew of little pieces. Where is the bone?? The potatoes came on the side and were cold. When I asked the waiter about the bone, he said it was too hard to heat a bone! Basically admitting that it was simply reheated - it tasted that way with the sauce basically a thick gravy. The steak was well cooked but the au poivre sauce also seemed reheated and gelatinized. So, fine overall but not worth a repeat visit.
Very nice environment, the foods are good and the services are good.
Nice restaurant and friendly staff. The food is way overpriced for the size of the dishes.
We had a great time. This was my second time to Colette, and on both occasions the food and service was great! Our waitress was a bit idiosyncratic, but we were more amused than annoyed. Would definitely become a regular here.
we like this place! will be back! Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
The server took about 30 minutes to fill our drink order and brought over the wrong gin. I asked him to bring over the correct gin. He then screwed up with the second drink. At that point, I figured I'd drop it because he somehow didn't know what he was doing. After taking the food order he never once returned except for the bill. What a disappoint. I will make a point to spread the word about our experience and to avoid your restaurant.
The young woman who waited on us for lunch truly made the afternoon a nice experience. The food was good and the atmosphere very pleasant but, she really made the day.
Pleasant atmosphere, not as loud as other places in the neighborhood. Like the French tilt of the experience.
I read about Colette in a magazine about It being the top brunch place in Boston. It was sadly far from best. I suppose it was due to the fact that they were voted #1 brunch spot very recently and weren’t prepared for the outcome.
Our poor server had 12 tables, 4 of which were over 5 people. That alone is one servers duty. There was 1, maybe 2 food runners for the entire restaurant. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and ordered a sweet item and waited another 20 minutes before I told the server to cancel the order and asked for the check.
The ambiance is great and had such high potential to be great. On a scale of 1-10 I’d give Colette a 4.
My girlfriend and I had dinner at Colette to celebrate our anniversary. We loved it! We had a cozy corner couch which felt very romantic. The wine selection was fantastic and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again!
Brought my sweetheart and some friends in to celebrate a milestone birthday. Had a wonderful time, we'll be back!
Could not hear my friend because of the noise level. Food was very delayed and one dish was undercooked. Waiter was very nice but the kitchen was slow. Would not go back.
I return to Colette again and again for the service, food and ambiance.
I had the steak frite and thought the steak itself was fantastic but the fries were disappointing (i.e., soggy and too much salt). My wife had the salmon which was good but not great. We had a glass of wine and a Manhattan which were both quite good. The noise level is very high. The wait staff, although friendly are inexperienced.
