Coles 735 Main Ratings and Reviews
Dinner for 2. We each had a nightly special and both were exceptional. For dessert we each had carrot cake which came with a dollop of cinnamon gelato. The entrees were a masterpiece pleasing to the eye, and equally pleasing to the pallet. Our server was very attentive. This is a great place for special occasions or nightly dining. Our entrees were about $35 each and for the culinary experience well worth it.
I made a reservation for Valentine’s Day. It was all good. Prices indicated was $31 to $50. But when I got there the meal was $75’per person for Valentine’s Day. No options allowed to order off menu. I called couple of times but no one mentioned the menu was Valentine’s Day menu or price. They should have updated on Open Table the change in price as other restaurants had done. A few of them had done this. This could have been embarrassing for someone who was not prepared. Seating was too close to other patrons. I had to ask to be reseated but it was too close. Dessert was awful. Cookies for dessert? The only saving thing was the tenderloin and finger potatoes. Disappointed!
Coles 735 Main was spot on for our Valentine Eve dinner. Jacob's service was prompt, but not intrusive. Well done, Jacob. New York strip prepared medium rare was on the money and seasoned just right. One of the best steaks in Lexington. We look forward to our return trip.
Really enjoyed our first trip to Cole's. Warm, cozy atmosphere. Attentive- but not obtrusive- service. Delicious- but not pretentious- special occasion food. Best flavor in a filet I've ever experienced and the crispy grits were the ideal pairing. The freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were a perfect end to the meal. Thanks Coles. We'll be back!
Coles is one of my favorite restaurants - probably best food in town! We went there for celebration of an anniversary, and we were not disappointed! It was a superb experience - casual but special... Our server (Jared) was very attentive and the food was just AWESOME. The wine list makes your head spin: great wines from all over the world for a reasonable price.
Coles is always enjoyable with mostly highs and a few lows from time to time. Very good and sometimes inspired fare. The service was excellent by our server Allison, who in addition to movie star looks was also quite attentive and professional. The NY strip steak was good but a little overseasoned with a brown glaze. Better to have been salted and peppered only and let the meat speak for itself. The Bernaise sauce was a little strong on vinegar. The carrot cake was good but sickeningly sweet because the slice was 2/3 frosting 1/3 cake. All in all, still one of the best in Lexington.
We travel from Alabama to Michigan several times a year and choose to go out of our way to overnight in Lexington JUST to have dinner at Coles 735 Main. This place is fabulous and has been so consistently great each visit! The hosts and wait staff are friendly and very well informed about the menu. The specials are amazing as well. Do not pass up an opportunity to visit Coles.
The decor was all over the place, nothing matched, it was just random hodgepodge of stuff, even the silverware wasn't all from the same set, it all felt just thrown together, service was fairly slow, not terribly considering how busy the place was, the only saving grace was the entree I had was cooked absolutely perfectly, a NY strip cooked to a perfect medium rare, and seasoned amazingly.
We ate at Coles before heading to the Opera House. We were looking for something new to try and we made a great decision. Everything was delicious. We had Tempura Shrimp, Mediterranean Salad, Pork Chop Meal, Filet (delicious) and for the sides, we selected the Au Gratin Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts! Everything was amazing. How could you not try dessert.... The Carrot Cake was yummy!! Highly recommend Coles for your next nice meal!
The best restaurant in Lexington. The food is over the top delicious and very original. The menu makes no effort to imitate any other restaurant and is entirely unique. The service is very professional, only approaching the table when they can see necessary to refill a drink or take the order for the next course. We go for every birthday, anniversary, etc. It just doesn’t get better than Cole’s.
The restaurant was chilly but the weather was dismal! I was quoted the wrong price for the special. I was quoted $28. but billed $36. Waiter's effort was good. The food was delicious but I might have ordered something else if I had been aware of the correct price of the fish (snapper) special.
