Coles 735 Main Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely spectacular as always. The menu is consistent with protein offered, yet the garnishes and sides change with the season. A very neat way to keep the menu fresh. Service is flawless and prompt, food is to die for. Must-haves: bone-in filet, panko fried avocado, truffle-infused lobster bisque. This is what I tell my friends- this is the best restaurant in Lexington and there is no doubt about it. Go there!
Dine out for a living and had One of the best double cut bone in pork chops ever. Wine list (even glasses) that lean towards food and making the meal better. Not just bold fruit bombs - that aren’t compete with food rather than complementing. Thanks Cole, Chris, Bradley and the Team
Coles is always good; it is a little pricy but.......BUT.......you get your monies worth
We only had appetizers and a salad but WOW!
The Tempura Shrimp was outstanding
the Potato/bacon soup out of sight and
the Brussell Sprout salad was so unique (an I hate cooked Brussell Sprouts
The food was simply amazing. Simple dishes (NY Strip & Ratatouille) but they were flavorful and perfectly prepared. The best plates of food we've had in Lexington (and we've been here for 18 years). Highly recommend Cole's. The photo included is of the eggplant bruschetta. Superb,
Cole's is our favorite restaurant in Lexington. The food is creative and delicious. At our table we had one filet, said to be the best my friend had ever eaten. The scallops on a kale salad were also outstanding. The bourbon creme brulee was perfect. All in all, no disappointment here. We were here on a very busy night and the service was a bit slower than usual.
Another spectacular experience. The eggplant appetizer was out of this world. Everyone at the table ordered the filet or the strip. I don't think that we looked up because it was so good. The macaroni and cheese is the best and the warm cookies and ice cream too. Highly recommend.
Wed night, restaurant crowded, VERY noisy to the point you had to speak very loudly to be heard across the table, and we were seated at the side of the restaurant. Plus they tried to play music in the background, which added to the din- couldn’t begin to tell you what kind of music was playing! Out of a special at 700. Varied menu but food while good, not great.
Always a nice evening at Cole's. Staff is always nice, service is perfect and never feel rush! Food is excellent! Had a nice evening celebrating my parents 60th wedding anniversary! Only wishing they could have made it more special/celebration for them. But know it's not there job.
We had a great time thanks to the staff and the chef. Our food was award winning. I can't remember the name of the fish but oh it was delicious. Everything on the plate was delicious and I wanted to lick the plate but did not think it was appropriate. We still have room for warm cookies and ice cream. We are like a boom-a-rang we just keep coming back. Thanks Coles
Excellent restaurant. My wife and I went there for our 10th anniversary and it did not disappoint. My wife had the pan roasted duck which she thoroughly enjoyed and I ordered the dry-aged filet which was transcendent. Your wallet won't thank you for going, but your stomach and your soul will.
The food was great, unfortunately my son had a salad and cut his tongue on what appeared to be a broken piece of plastic. We gave it to the waiter who was very apologetic. He said the manager would come talk with us, but he never stopped. I guess I would have appreciated them at least comping his salad. I'm not that way so we probably wouldn't have accepted but for the 3 college kids, 2from Davidson and one from Centre with me it could have gone a long way in showing them how to do business. That's why I gave a 2 star overall.
While our appetizer of eggplant bruschetta was delicious, the remainder of the meal was served ice cold. Our server was pleasant, but he was either overwhelmed or oblivious. Another server asked if we needed anything and we requested knives...he walked away. We were literally sitting NEXT to the waiter station.
Additionally, after ordering a bottle of $150 champagne, our server had NO idea how to open the bottle. I blame management for this. If you are going to serve expensive wine and champagne, your servers should be knowledgeable before they attempt. We had to walk him through this.
We were hugely disappointed as we had heard good things about Cole's.
We refrained from addressing it that evening as we were looking for a drama less night out. I would have sent an email, but none was to be found on the website. And when I called, they were not open on Sunday.
Our visit was to celebrate a couple family birthdays. Our party consisted of 4 adults (one on a gluten-free diet and another a pescatarian) and a 10 year old. The menu was diverse enough for everyone to find an item to their liking. We ordered the duck, pork chop, scallops, filet mignon and salmon dishes. Portions were adequate and all the food was delicious. Dessert consisted of carrot cake, chocolate torte, and a creme brûlée - all flavorful. None were overly sweet and portion size was enough to give you that tasty dessert without the guilt of eating a too large serving. Our server was extremely efficient, friendly (without being TOO familiar) and present enough to leave no one in want. Restaurant prices tend toward the pricier end of the scale ($28 and up per meal) so this is not a place the average person would frequent, however for special occasions it knocks it outside of the park. Definitely on my celebratory / special restaurant list. I would most definitely recommend Cole's!!
