First time to visit Coles and everything was nice. Food was very good and the atmosphere was very nice. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.
This was our second visit to Cole’s. We brought friends from Michigan as our guests. All found the food and it’s presentation to be excellent. We will return!
Always one of our favorite date night spots! The ambience is great, love the smaller quaint feel at Coles. The steaks are as good as ANYONE in Lexington. The Brussels sprouts appetizer is outstanding. They have a really good wine and bourbon selection which is great. Probably best local restaurant in Lexington and all for a really fair price. Great restaurant!!
We like to do Valentines Day the week after to avoid the crowds and price-fixed mediocre food. So we went Cole’s this past weekend - and we had a wonderful experience. The Brie was fabulous as an appetizer - and we were happy to split the Brussels sprouts salad. Our entrees - the filet and salmon - were perfectly cooked. The service was great, as always.
Too expensive for the quality/taste of food
Would not choose to return
Excessive noise from a large table with very loud young children adjacent to us was very distracting and made having a conversation difficult.
Food was excellent as always.
This is a great restaurant. Cozy setting with terrific food. I would put their filet up against anyone in town. We make this a stop every time we come into town from Nashville. Game day with the Cats followed by an awesome meal.
Valentine's day menu was wonderful. Staff was attentive and charming. Seated next to the fireplace, and was just warm enough while providing wonderful ambience. The wine list was excellent, and the bar was a very comfortable place to wait. Found this reservation at the last minute after another restaurant provided an unacceptable experience. I felt like like I won the lottery.
My wife had a huge bone in her spring roll. It was the size of a quarter which makes is hard to believe it was missed. Could have been a serious issue If it made it to her throat. Made me worried about the rest of the meal.
We enjoyed a great meal for Valentine's Day! Love the food, service, and atmosphere.
The food was excellent and the ambiance was great. We will definitely visit again.
Eat here at least once a month. Consistently outstanding. Their steaks are best in town...period.
Food was amazing!!
We love coles and consider it one of our favorite places to celebrate with friends and family. However the last two times we’ve eaten there, the food and service has not been up to what we had been used to. This last weekend, we took our daughter there who was in from out of town. She and I split the steak special and it was very grisly and tough. The waiter was very nice and comped it for us, but I was really surprised in the quality and flavor. My daughter at first thought that her steak knife was full but it was just that she couldn’t cut through the meat. About a week earlier, we ate there with two other couples and we waited a long time for drinks (different server) and my husband was disappointed that the menu had changed.
We hope that the next time we go, the quality and general service has improved as it is so charming and an asset to the Chevy Chase Ashland Park area
The jambalaya was excellent. This place never disappoints. In the neighborhood which makes it that much more special.
Great food but somewhat limited menu. It’s a la cart so expect to drop $100+ on a date. It’s worth a special occasion for sure.
The best fine dining restaurant in Lexington. Always exceptional food, and attentive and gracious staff.
Food was great! Overall good atmosphere and service. Only thing was it took quite awhile to get our main entree. We had a big gap between our appetizer and the entree but that won’t stop us from going back.
Great service and the food was wonderful!
Wonderful food and service! Great experience!
Food was awesome, as always!! Started with fried avacado - so yummy!!! Shared lobster bisque which was heavenly!!! Had Marinated Cauliflower steaks and and friend had the Beef Bulgogi - both were very good - so much flavor!!! Marilyn was our server and was such a delight!!! Great evening celebrating a birthday - no room for dessert but they brought vanilla bean ice cream and blueberries with a candle! Fun evening with GREAT food and service!!!!
3 VERY satisfied diners! Spicy Chicken Jambalaya, bone-in porkchop, Tiger shrimp with sticky rice (special), pear salads, great wine suggestions...all of it! The dining experience was one of our favorites comparatively speaking...and this from three people who travel each week and eat similar fare at least 3 business nights/wk. Great job, Cole! Appreciate the handshake in leaving. Next up...Eppings.
Garrett was great, with spot on recommendations. The baked to order cookies were to die for! Will definitely be back
Our server, Yolanda, was awesome in every way! I had the Marksbury Farm pork chop, and it was perfect! My wife had the grass fed 14 ounce ribeye, and it was very good, but did have more gristle than we would have hoped. We had the charcuterie board for an appetizer, and it was extremely good! The only drawback was the pickled brussel sprouts. They didn't have much flavor and were a little tough. We shared a side of wild mushrooms, which were nothing short of great! I had roasted purple potatoes with my pork chop, which were wonderful, and my wife had garlic mashed potatoes with sauteed spinach. Both of her side were very good too! We took home their homemade chocolate chip and butterscotch cookies, which taste so good they shouldn't be legal! Overall, another wonderful experience at Cole's! They've set the bar so high, I might be nitpicking a bit. We will be back as often as we can!
The atmosphere and food were excellent. The four of us had a great time and really enjoyed the quaintness of the bar area for a before dinner cocktail. Our waiter, John L, was excellent and attended to all of our needs - even making sure a spilled glass of water didn't ruin our evening. Fortunately we didn't turn over any of our cocktails. I recommend Cole's to everyone who's looking for a great meal and a great evening.
Exceptional, creative menu. Like the vegetarian and seafood offerings. Have never experienced a bad meal here.
Always creative and excellent food and friendly people.
For a special occasion such as a milestone birthday or an anniversary, rhis place can't be beat. The food was excellent and the service spot on. Could not have asked for a better evening.
Consistently delicious, warm, and cozy.
Anniversary. Great table
Ask for Marilyn. She's attentive, knowledgeable, and offers great wine suggestions.
Good pescatarian /vegetation options.
My husband and I were in town for a UK Game. We were looking for a spot for a romantic dinner and Coles was perfect. Everything we tasted was delicious. The server gave us a great wine selection, food assistance and the timing of the attention at the table perfect. Call me old fashioned, but my husband and I often struggle with what people wear out to dinner on a Saturday night. We think at a minimum you should have a dress code with no ball caps allowed and come on people don't look like you are headed out to do errands. If you can afford the restaurant you can wear dress up your jeans!
We especially enjoy HOLLY!!!
She is so pleasant on the phone and is a real asset
to your team!
The food and service were exceptional as always! Kyle is always very knowledgeable and excellent at pairing wines with the various menu items!
Our favorite restaurant in Lexington! The food, the service, the cozy atmosphere...all exceptional, but BEWARE!
Although our reservations were made weeks in advance, our requested table was given to someone else by the hostess! Instead, we were seated by an drafty exterior door which required blankets on the back of our chairs and blankets on our laps in order to keep warm. Not exactly my idea of fine dining on New Year’s!
Thank you Coles 735 Main for a wonderful NYE dinner. Our food and drinks were terrific (as expected). The pear salad is a classic winner. The cauliflower steak was a great, very flavorful vegetarian, lower-carb option. The hot-out-of-the-oven butterscotch cookies were to die for! Yolanda’s service was just right—personable, knowledgable, and efficient. We look forward to enjoying many more great evenings at Cole’s in 2020.
Our waiter was amazing, the manager came and checked on us, we had an amazing bottle of wine, French Malbec, and Cole's is one of the only places in town with a varied Gluten-Free menu.
This restaurant had so many good reviews that I can only assume tonight was an off night. Had the naked Brie for an appetizer, which was fantastic. But, that is where the joy in the meal ended. My husband had the beef bulgogi. It tasted like wet beef jerky. And the plate looked so unappetizing. The carrots were the same color as the beef and it was all piled around a bed of rice. I had the filet with Brussels sprouts. Again, everything was the same color. My steak was ordered medium rare, came out medium, but the herbed butter wasn’t even melting which indicates to me it had been cooked for a while and setting in the window. Overall, completely underwhelming. Hopefully others will have better luck than us in the future.
Food and ambiance are always amazing. Had the filet - best in town, in our opinion. Wine selection is good and service is friendly, prompt and unassuming. We love Coles!
