Following last year’s hugely successful Brunch with Santa, we’re delighted to bring them back for another year. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting families from near and far and can’t wait to welcome back the big man himself for another month of fun! We have a range of dates to choose from but do be careful as they sell out quickly. On the day you’ll enjoy a hearty brunch for adults and we more than look after the wee ones with food & drink and of course a visit and gift from Santa. Santa will be visiting us every Saturday and Sunday throughout December. Book your arrival time between 10 am – 11 am.

Great location, especially with the view on the rooftop. Food was served very quickly after ordering, and the pizzas we had tasted great! Service in general was thoughtful and attentive. Compliments to our server. Would absolutely dine here again, even just for drinks!

We had a reservation for 7 on the rooftop terrace. On the plus side, the views were great, people were friendly, drink menu was extensive, prices were fair. We did not realize that, if you aren’t at a high top, the other table option is a low “cocktail” table where it is more difficult to eat. The space was cozy & perfect for drinks & appetizers, but a little tougher for dinner for 7 (not saying it was their “fault”, just sharing for those booking in the future). For those who got burgers, they found them to be over cooked by American standard. The staff took them off the bill without us asking. The sausage, chicken sandwich, & the fish & chips were good. Mushy peas were delicious! Good experience overall

Always enjoy visiting Cold Town House especially on the Terrace when the sun is out. Staff are awesome and a credit to your company but I’m not a great fan of seeing customers vaping on the terrace and there was a group close to us who asked if they could and they were told, don’t get caught. I don’t think you are allowed to smoke up there so vaping should be the same.

Service was slow regarding drinks getting served, food came and chips were cold - at £5.50 per side of fries I expect them to be fresh and hot. Upon booking the table I was asked if there was any special requirements to which there was - 1 gluten free meal. None asked if I knew how it worked or spoke me through the menu, no mention of it at all from the waiter. Coeliac is a serious allergy so should be recognised when a customer is eating within the restaurant. A discretionary service charge got added to the bill, when asked to remove it waitress got very defensive and asked why it was to be removed.

Cracking place with a lovely vibe. Staff were very attentive and food/beer always great. In terms of pricing, id say this is an expensive place made considerably more expensive when they added a 'discretionary tip' of 10% to the bill which we felt was unfair. Leave it to us to decide what staff deserve to get tipped. Lots of our grown up children work in the hospitality industry and so we are very able to make these decisions for ourselves.

Only had drinks so no idea about the food. Well thought out very quirky, cool and relaxed vibe, lovely way to have drinks outside, really nice looking overall the other floors too, must book well in advance tho. The staff had it running like clockwork, retractable part roof, for inclement weather, will look gorgeous at night, bar is an old vw converted campervan, 2 semi sheltered ski gondolas you could dine in, and all sheltered from the wind. All under the view of the castle. Excellent.

Venue was nice. Customer service was disappointing had to ask for menus and then waited 45 minutes for food to arrive kept getting forgotten about when asking for drinks etc. The food came to us Luke warm and the burgers below par quality, beef was stringy and overcooked felt like a rubber flip flop. Not what you expect from a Thursday quiet lunch service.

Food and drinks were lovely, good atmosphere and waitresses were lovely - however had to chase drinks up twice as they took at least 20 mins after ordering to come. And some sides missed from dinner that took asking twice for as well and they arrived as we were finishing dinner so a bit of a waste. It wasn’t overly busy so not sure what the issue was but staff apologetic.

We had a lovely time here. There’s a lot of choice from both the drinks and the food menu. The drinks were all lovely (cocktails) and the food was delicious. The only thing that slightly let it down was that we only had the booking for two hours, but no one came to serve us until 27 minutes after we sat down. At the same time we were told it would be a 40 minute wait for food. We did book for a date in the middle of the fringe so that’s on us, but also if we have to wait that long for food we’re rushing to vacate our table at the end of the two hours. And if you’d served us when we were seated we’d have definitely spent more money on drinks over the course of our booking, rather than just two rounds.

Only 4 stars as the food took at least 45mins to come and we ended up tight for time for the fringe show we were going to. However, the staff were lovely, the food was good (when it eventually arrived) and liked the overall bar / restaurant. Putting it down to the madness of the fringe!

Booked a rooftop table for daughters 18th, service was excellent. Food and drink good too, especially the pizzas. Rooftop closed at 10pm but they let us know in advance and gave us a table downstairs. Excellent evening and the staff were outstanding. Thanks for a fun evening :-)

Oh. My. Gosh. Just go here. Between the four of us, we had a haggis pizza, a pizzette with a salad and a Cold Town House Hotdog and haggis fries!!! Everything was beyond delicious and reasonably priced. Add to that the wonderful service and it can’t be beat! Again just go!!
