Cold Storage Seafood
Great for a romantic late night, could get a booth with well behaved kids, and a great spot to mingle with your besties over delicious cocktails, and sweet and briny seafood towers!
Loved having a lil late night valentines dinner here with my partner.
We ordered the John Hancock seafood tower for 2 and a couple other dishes. The seafood was fresh and the food tasted good but the tower didn’t come with clams as the menu said it would. Our server didn’t mention anything about being out of clams so I assumed we had everything. I realized after our meal that we were missing a key item. The food was good but can’t help feeling gypped.
Food was below average at best, not impressed with the quality whatsoever.
The food was awful. The fish was virtually uncooked.
We dined during restaurant week and overall in terms of food & service we had a lovely experience. However, I have to mention that we were all a bit shocked by the fact that they do not offer free refills on iced tea and on top of that, each tea was $3.50. I have worked in the food industry for a very long time, and I personally think this was a bit much, when iced tea (like soda) cost next to nothing to have on hand and pour. Secondly, the stools in the bar were the most uncomfortable stools I have ever sat in. The bars for your feet were either too low or too high to use comfortably, and by the end of the meal your butt hurt so bad you couldn't wait to get up and leave.
I enjoyed the food and ambience was nice. I would have gave the food more stars if the desert was a bit more unique. It's kind of weird to go from rocking seafood to a cookie ice cream sandwich. Mimosa was strong and boozy...liked it! As far as staff, very welcoming @ the door. No place to sit while I wait for a table?? The waiters' runner was the hardest working person there. I would have given him the entire tip. Waiter barely looked in our direction. What a shame...I won't return.
Everything was perfect! We came for lunch during restaurant week and everything was very prompt and delicious. It was a great deal, the 3 courses were each outstanding, and we left full and happy.
This place was awesome! The food was delish, very fresh. Presentation was spot on and the service was great!
Great menu and you can even order off Swift and Son's menu too.
Freshest Seafood in Chicago, Oyster selection always on point, fun casual atmosphere
It was great! A little pricey for the catch of the day.
Stopped here for Restaurant Week, and was not disappointed. Lunch was $24 & worth way more than I paid! Highly recommended!
Great cocktails and seafood options. Friendly staff. Less formal than Swift & Sons - great alternative and can eat off the Swift menu
Third visit — we love the Tins! Great wine (Sancerre), oysters and tins. One of our favorite spots in Chicago if you are a seafood lover!
Amazing seafood selections and great service. Highly recommend!
Fabulously fresh food, great service (thank you, Oscar), and a casual comfortable setting. We had oysters on the half shell, scallop ceviche that was outstanding, and salmon collar-very different for us but again, delicious.
Very small space, only 3 booths everything else are high top tables with backless stools. No place to put you coa on these backless stools. The mussels on the website and what was on the menu had two different descriptions. It was a highly recommended item that was not very good.
Food and service were outstanding!!
Great food and service!
Very good and excellently prepared seafood.
I had lunch with two colleagues. The service was excellent, but I found the high top tables and stools to be uncomfortable. The lunch menu choices are limited and fairly eclectic. I expected more interesting seafood choices. I was disappointed in my meal and would not recommend the restaurant for lunch.
Great service but we weren’t able to eat slowly and talk because they kept wanting to clear our table.
My husband I had a taste for seafood and what a perfect place for just that! We had lobster and shrimp it was excellent
Fantastic food and exceptional service! We will be back for sure.
The oysters were wonderful and the avocado toast with crab was delicious!
Trendy which also means expensive...small portions, fish over-grilled, not worth the price, I prefer other restaurants in town
Great deal on happy hour specials, however it took a very long time for our oysters to come out.
Solid happy hour w/ $1 oysters.
Maybe the best sundaes in town.
I was visiting in from Detroit hanging with friend and I had grilled snapper which was delicious. Portions were on the light side but the service and ambiance were excellent.
This restaurant falls into the just fine catagory. It’s steps from Swift & Sons which feels like you are at the 2nd place restaurant. The restaurant is very small and almost feels like an app place for S&S. The food was very good and the service was great. I wondered why it was so easy to get reservations on a Saturday night and now I know why. Try it, you won’t be disappointed but you may wish you were someplace else.
Brunch food was pretty disappointing, but staff were helpful and accommodated our group of nine, including two babies. The best thing we ordered were the hashbrowns. Brunch menu is oddly eclectic and reflects a lack of focus with specialties from the Mediterranean, East Asia and originals like clam chowder fries. I would not go back.
I will definitely be going back to Cold Storage. We got the seafood tower and there were a couple of things I was less into than others, but overall delicious and we left full and happy.
This was our first time at Cold Storage for brunch on a Sunday. Was pretty quiet but I can see how it could get lively real quick. EXCELLENT seafood spot. This is a great spot located in Swift & Sons - in the way too cool Fulton Market area. Love this place. I had the shrimp & grits along with a mimosa, my husband had the crab omelette. Both were wonderful! Staff were friendly & attentive, and were helpful with suggestions. This was a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!
Service was impeccable; friendly without pretense and efficient. She made the meal very enjoyable. Oysters were great. All the entrees were well prepared and well priced. WIll return again soon.
We’ve eaten here many times and enjoy the food. Went for their new brunch service. The food was great!
Good food/ good service!!
Went for a birthday dinner. The food was fresh and delicious. Was slightly put off when we told our server we had a birthday at our table and she dismissed it, yet brought a dessert to the table next to us for a birthday. Slightly soured the experience. The birthday was noted in the reservation also.
Very disappointed that many wines and food choices not available. Seams also that the wine director did not care.
If you have a theme at the restaurant and people come for this and the only 3 of 12 choices are available this is bad.
Most tables are high tops so be sure to request a booth if that is important to you or your group!
Our server, Abby, was fantastic and knew when to ask to keep things moving and when to let us enjoy our conversation. And a pleasant demeanor and quick with a smile. The food was very good but some of the portions were quite small for the price, particularly the calamari.
