WOW, I can not believe I haven't been here. I've lived in Savannah for over 8 years now, and this my friends is a little piece of heaven. The atmosphere was gorgeous, I need them to come decorate my own place. The service was top notch! The food...holy moly what a treat. My mother and I ordered the brown butter halibut...AMAZING just does not do it justice. If and when you get a moment to try something new and or familiar, def go to Cohen Retreat!
Sunday Brunch was wonderful!!! The food and service at Cohen’s is consistently superb. One thing I truly appreciate is that you can dine at a leisurely pace, having time to enjoy the food, the company, and the ambiance.
The whole experience was awesome it just took a little bit longer than we expected to get our service and to get our bottomless mimosas refilled we had to keep asking but other than that everything was great.
Service was slower than normal; not sure why. Had to wait an unusually longer than average time for our food. Food was great though. Also, had to ask server for refills & check & he didn’t seem busy so??? Seems service has gone down and/or they were short-staffed.
They did have a large event going on; however, they should have planned accordingly.
Damn this pandemic! Cohens is very attractive, well decorated and great bar. We ate there on a raining Wednesday night and it was a small crowd....which is good due to Covid. But the menu is very limited and and the waitstaff obviously second string.....due to covid. Over all if you want salads or sandwiches or 2 to 3 entries it"s great. The decor is worth the price for dinner and I would highly recommend it particularly if you are staying Southside!
We went for brunch but soon learned it’s a fabulous special occasion spot. Great space for a big group. Groovy seating in the back of pick up trucks (hard to explain!) among other cozy, unique dining niches. Food was phenomenal — best avocado toast (with an egg) I’ve ever had!! We will be back often!!
Martie was our server and he was exceptional! Very attentive and described every dish perfectly.
The food was savory and delicious. The atmosphere was eclectic and interesting.
Very Disappointed with the dinner menu options. Sandwiches and snacks and an extremely limited dinner menu ... Was expecting a great dinner what we got was expensive sandwiches and snacks... Again, very disappointing. We'll be a lot more careful next time we consider Cohen's...
Great food and lovely service. Not cheap but it’s an occasion place. Will definitely go again.
The first time I’ve been and 4 of us had bad food experience. The shrimp and grits were soaked in sauce so it was more like a soup. Charleston ice cream said it had risotto and vegetables and my friend added Mahi. Fish was hard and dry and it was served with a small amount of rice that looked like minute rice and a few pieces of whole okra. Crab cakes were also dry. Server was not to our expectations, barely spoke and not very friendly. This was my first time coming and I’ve heard brunch at the bar is better so I’d be willing to give that a try.
I loved this place! Gorgeous decor and the food and cocktails were absolutely delicious.
The place is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed brunch. The staff were very polite and it's just a neat experience.
My sons name is Cohen and the reason we visited. We have come to love the food and history of the the creative restaurant. It’s a great memory and special place my son will enjoy because he feels it’s personal
We love this restaurant, and had another awesome experience on this evening.
This is my third time visiting Cohen's in the last two months. I love the ambience and the service, however my French Toast is always cold/room temperature.
Great venue. Great drinks. Not a bad choice on the menu.
spectacular ambiance - really great for special lunch celebration
The staff, food, drinks and ambiance were amazing! I would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back
A wonderful fine dining alternative to downtown Savannah. The exceptional cuisine would be incentive enough alone to dine here, but the distinctiveness of the venue, with its unique boutiques and eccentric decor, makes for a truly memorable and thoroughly enjoyable experience. We found everything we ordered to be delicious and also sampled a few original cocktails which did not disappoint. After dinner we really didn't want to leave so we went to the bar for just one more beverage. The bar area is also a terrific space and we were most ably served and attended to by Nicky who gets my bartender-ess of the year award. Shout out also to our waiter Marty in the restaurant who took great care of us all evening. We shall return without hesitation.
The staff was attentive and courteous. Marty our server was amazing and was able to answer or research each of our questions on the menu or procedures. The food was excellent and the ambiance was pure Savannah. We very much enjoyed our evening and will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. What a gem we found. Food was exceptional and so good. Designed nicely .
We had such a wonderful amazing brunch! Our server was such a polite young man and truly felt catered to the entire meal. I wish I could remember his name! Our meals were all amazing and we are locals and will definitely be back. I can’t believe we have never been here before! Definitely worth going to.
I want to like this place, but every time I've been there, there have been issues, and it's too expensive to be a bad experience. I had family visiting from out of town, and when we asked questions about the specials, the food wasn't described accurately. It was completely different when we received it. I ordered a caesar salad, and when I received it, it had no dressing, and no anchovies as was described on the menu. So I paid $10.00 for some lettuce with croutons. Sorry, but enough chances to get it right. If I am going to spend that much money, I will go downtown in the future.
One absolutely must try the Charleston Ice Cream, Shrimp Salad, and the Smoked Chicken. Collards - to die for. Mac and cheese - heavenly. Pickled beets and lowcountry aioli - a taste sensation! We will be back.
My husband and I had a wonderful brunch on Sunday! The food was delicious and our server was very attentive!! We plan to return soon!!
An unexpected treasure.
Worth going out of the way.
We enjoyed the lunch. The food was fresh and delicious.
I love going there ....the food is wonderful and service is great and love the look.
We were celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival, we decided to take photos in front of the fountain. The doors opened and we were enthusiastically greeted by Eric, who quickly volunteered to be our photographer. This was a first time visit for the birthday girl and from that moment until the end of the evening she was treated like a queen. Eric and Nicky made sure we had everything we needed- it felt more like being guests in their home than customers in a restaurant.
The menu was not Cohen’s usual dinner fare, due to COVID, but as always, there was still a variety of offerings and it was excellent. Our party started with the always fabulous fried green tomatoes with bacon jam and we shared a newer offering of hush puppies. Entrees included the divine shrimp and grits and Carolina Ice Cream (gold rice) with Mahi Mahi.
My friend said this was the best birthday ever (she’s a 39 repeat several times over). Fabulous atmosphere and superb food and service.
Amazing southern food -served with perfection! Fantastic, friendly-yet superbly professional staff. Rooms are incredibly decorated— great backyard bbq vibe!
Beautiful historic building, outstanding service and food!
The entire dining experience blew us away. From the artwork on every wall, to the knowledge of our server ( everything, yes, everything they serve is made on site), to the atmosphere of the place were top, top notch. There is a market, a restaurant, a bar, outdoor dining, and rooms to rent, and it would be worth it to go and stay for a few days, truly! We cannot wait to return.
The location was beautiful and unusual in a good way. We had lunch on our way through Savannah and were delighted to find this arts and food paradise. The rooms were all decorated in such unique style and the food was first class. I fell in love with one of the dressings and our server was also a chef, so he was able to describe the ingredients. Lucky me! I highly recommend this place.
Cohens is absolutely beautiful, I wish the food and service were just as good. We had a reservation for 8:30pm for our honeymoon. We stood at the podium for 15 minutes and no one came to greet us. We wound up walking to the bar and the bartender sat us. Minutes later our waiter came over and greeted us and was kind. Our waiter was great and our drinks were great but the food was horrible.
Great happy joir
This was an interesting place, kind of like an art retreat. The pecan french toast was very good and sweet. Our server was wonderful. Just wish their were a few more options on the menu.
The servers that were working were doing the best they could under the very short staff situation. This is not doubt due to the pandemic. Hopeful that our next visit is better.
The food was excellent. Our table got a variety but my fried Mahi and grits were very good. The drinks were also good but the service got a little slow at times. Considering they only appeared to have 2 servers with the COVID situation may be why though. The bartender was awesome. everyone enjoyed themselves and we had a great time.
Love the new menu and more sandwich options. Bar was quaint and comfortable and service from Nikki was the best!
