Contemporary European
Coda eatery @ The Gibson Hotel right beside Dublin's 3arena. Overlooking Point Square, this is an unbeatable dining spot to soak up the concert buzz. Short stroll to Aviva Stadium and super convenient to Croke Park too. Coda is a stylish yet informal eatery. Home to First Dates Ireland, diners never fail to fall in love with the delicious dishes and signature cocktails as seen on the famous show. Coda aptly takes it's name from Led Zeppelin’s final studio album, and like its namesake is pretty legendary too!

To be fair it’s a Hotel restaurant which I would never get too excited about. Our meal was pre concert, so I’m glad it wasn’t just the meal we were in town for. The service was lighting quick, but so quick it felt like a fast food restaurant. I had the burger which looked good but was very bland and pretty tasteless. The chunky chips that came it were just OK. My wife had the Salmon and veg which was very basic and not really seasoned etc. We had a bottle of Amuse Sav Blanc (French) which was also very basic and not chilled to the right temperature. When we asked for salt it came in fast food paper sachets which really killed the restaurant feel altogether. Where we were seated was right along a thoroughfare that led into a function room at the far end of the seating area. There was a constant flow of party goers which felt very disruptive. The staff were very pleasant but when I asked for our bill, I got another tables’ bill, so that ended up with some difficulty which to be fair was sorted quickly enough. We will not be returning.

Food was basic at best, service was all over the place, served by several different people, had to ask twice for a second glass of wine & dessert menu. Food was served within 5 minutes of ordering, not a great sign. Would not recommend or return.

Coda is a very pleasant dining experience. However it is misleading if you think you are dining in the first dates restaurant as it clearly is not the same area that filming is done so that's a bit of a disappointment. However its very convenient for attending a concert at the 3 Arena and I would recommend it.

First time visiting Coda so expectations were high after seeing it on a TV show. Food presentation was good & consistent at every table. My partner and I both ordered Burgers which arrived fairly quickly (perhaps a little too quick considering that they were well cooked (no choice was offered on how we liked them cooked). Whilst they both looked good sadly they were lacking on flavour. They could have been elevated with the addition of a good sauce/dressing but sadly we both found the burgers a bit underwhelming & were disappointed in their quality. Dessert was a lovely cheesecake which did not disappoint at all. Service was excellent at all times & the manager runs the restaurant so well. It's a lovely venue but despite good optics the easiest item on the menu was not up to what we believed it should be at, easily remedied by adding a few extra ingredients to the burger. Would I go again, probably.

We only had mains as we heading to see a show, the service was prompt but the restaurant was extremely busy, I know there was a show in the 3 Arena . I would like to visit when there wasn’t a concert on, but apparently Coda doesn’t open when there isn’t a gig on in the 3 Arena. Shame I’d like to have a more relaxed dinner/lunch there and take it the views

Very disappointed with the food here last Saturday night. Burger was definitely sitting in a hot counter since the day before it was so tough and the chips were not cooked enough. I'm not normally 1 to complain but sick of paying good money for bad food. The only good part of the evening was the lovely little waitress "Abby", a real credit to the place, gorgeous, friendly little girl. As for the guy hovering around in the suit watching everything, not very appealing. My overall review is a beautiful hotel but definitely would not recommend your restaurant to anyone

Booked Coda for dinner before a gig n the 3Arena last Friday. Staff were friendly, food was good. Restaurant Manager went above & beyond to help my partner set up his proposal to me for that evening, without me knowing. They looked after us and.. I said yes. :) Will be back... :)

A great place for some food and drinks before a show in the 3arena. Also, the restaurant manager was made aware that it was my birthday and gave my partner and I two complimentary cocktails which was a really nice gesture. Service was excellent and our waiter gave me a recommendation for a cocktail that was exactly what I was looking for.

We arrived at 12 for our booking, when approaching a staff member they told us to go stand at the bar. When we were seated our food arrived 50 mins after we ordered. We were told the staff only start at 12 in the kitchen, if a restaurant is not in a position to serve food at the time of booking that booking should not be available. The restaurant was also very cold. Overall a very disappointing experience

Service was awful. Staff seemed to not have a clue. We asked for mashed and veg with our dinner it never came out. Wrong wine was giving so I left that there also. We got the beef it was pure fat. We left hungry. I was very disappointed as we were so looking forward to eating there.

The dining was okay. Lacked a few touches that I was expected for such a prominent hotel & restaurant. Paper napkins, no stand for the white wine so the table was too crowded trying to fit things, limited menu, difficultly getting sparkling water at the table - should have offered as we were seated - still or sparkling. Service was okay & the food was also of a good quality. So not all bad

Booked through open Table... Confirmed day before after Open Table emailed for confirmation... Arrived and was told that there was NO reservation... VERY strange and NOT a good start to the evening. Suppose I was lucky that it was a 18.00 sitting on a Sunday and maybe out of the rush period... advise confirming ... checking and possibly confirming AGAIN. Service felt very rushed - am wondering if this was due to the reservation being lost ... but as one course was being cleared it felt like the next was being placed on the table... it's NOT a Fast Food restaurant and did not enjoy the experience of it feeling like one. Still undecided if I'd return or even if I'd recommend to others.

Service was awful. I understand it may have been busy but it was chaotic. It is a big venue but my advice is if you don’t have sufficient staff don’t let the customers in. On the day I was there most diners were attending a show in the 3Arena and had a short window in which they could eat. We were seated for 25 minutes before our order was taken and had to wait another 25 minutes for our food. We were probably served faster than the people around us as my wife had called a member of staff to take our order. A couple sitting next to us, after not having their order taken for over 30 minutes got up and left saying they would go to Centra for a sandwich. Oh the food. €15 for 6 chicken wings (or €2.50 a wing) is extortionate. They were also so slobbered in hot sauce I thought I was getting bolognese. Wings need to be coated not drowned. Stay away from this venue.

Food was fine & handy to be so close to the arena. Cocktails were great. But the Service was absolutely atrocious, no problem waiting for our (booked) table given it was a concert night & very busy, so We didn’t mind that. But the table staff had little to no English and the ones who did were not one bit friendly, which is Very disappointing when you’ve taken your 78 year old grandmother out for her very first concert who is very excited. Staff brought the atmosphere down big time.

Food was delicious, staff were all lovely but very few around. We waited 45min for our dessert, we asked the same staff member three times for the dessert and he kept forgetting, eventually the manager spotted us sitting there with the same dinner plates in front of us 45min after we had finished the main course. Very disappointed in the service but again food was lovely. I won’t be returning though.

We booked the restaurant as we are fans of 1st dates Ireland - however the restaurant is quite different to what we see on TV both in terms of lay out and the menu. The service was excellent and our server was very friendly and helpful. The layout and design is fabulous. The food was very disappointing. The Caesar Salad was very basic - a few leaves of lettuce thrown in a bowl with very little else. The burger was tasty but the chips were cold and soggy. The lovely bottle of Tempranillo was the only plus. It's a handy place to go for a pre-show drink but I wouldn't eat here again.

Unfortunately after this booking, we won't be booking there again. I received a call a few days before the booking stating that the restaurant was closed & that we would be accommodated in the other eating area. I asked if it was the same menu & was told it was. We arrived & the servers didn't seem to know how to check people in against the bookings. The rest of the evening went downhill from them when one of the managers/supervisors came over asked us for our name for the booking& then walked off. We waited a few minutes for menus and managed to catch him again to which he proceeded to give us one menu. I went in search of my own menu then as the area wasn't full & other tables were actually supplied with them. The menu which was available to us was a reduced menu & didn't reflect the same options for the restaurant which we booked. I said this to the manager & he wasn't helpful with this matter. The only option which was suitable was a pizza for both of us & we placed that order. At this stage, we had asked for the drinks menu several times too & we're finally given them. However, he walked away without taking our order. We managed to get the attention of another server & she indicated she was new and wasn't sure how to do this. This is grand as we're all been new to a job however the management team should have ensured that all their staff were comfortable in doing their jobs and if not supporting them whilst they are being trained. She came back and took our drinks order. At this stage our food had arrived & 20 minutes after that still no drinks. We had been there about 45 minutes altogether, eaten & my sister walked up to another manager & she tried to resolve this for us. She apologied and brought down drinks to us however my order was incorrect. She did apologise again & comp the drinks. The other manager not once checked with us if the food was nice, if we needed anything but ran over when we were leaving the tip like he did with other tables around us.
