Coda Di Volpe Ratings and Reviews
AHMAZING pizza! We went in for a quick bite and some craft cocktails and were not disappointed. Fantastic pizza, terrific drinks, and the House made chili oil is out of this world. Our waitress was adorable and efficient. I’m still thinking about that pizza. True Napolitan in Chicago!!
By far the best thing we ate was the Margherita pizza with mozzarella di buffala. This was relatively on par with pizzas I've had in Naples, Italy. The other pizza we had was good, but not great. The apps (two of the fritti) were good but too small for $9. Overall the food was great, but not $$ - I'd say it's more $$$ realistically but very good for the price.
This is our fourth time back to Coda di Volpe. We love both the food and the atmosphere. Had an excellent Bruschetta with figs and Ricotta. Loved the Octopus appetizer. Also loved the squid ink spaghetti with lump crabmeat. Look forward to our next meal there.
From food to service, everything was outstanding. Wanted something special to celebrate my birthday, it exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Our server, Frankie was engaging and attentive. Mike, the sommelier, was extremely knowledgeable and efficiently recommended a wine based on our preferences. Pizza was outstanding and pasta was spot on. The specials were unique and delicious. Looking forward to our next visit.
I love this restaurant. Great food and cocktails. I've been a number of times and I've never been disappointed. The meatball app is a favorite. Not familiar with the salads, but they look good. All the pizzas are great, but I order the Salsiccia (and you should, too!). All of the pastas are great, but I recommend the Gnocchi or Mezzaluna (which I think is fairly new to the menu and may not always be there). The Crispy-Skin Branzino is one of the best fish dishes I've had in the city and finally, they currently have a dessert that is worth writing home about: limoncello soaked pound cake with fresh berries. We ate it...and ordered another. Enjoy!
Great food and great service. Everything we ordered was delicious, and our waiter was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The menu changes frequently to reflect what's in season, and the seasonal dishes we ordered were wonderful, especially the pasta, which is "housemade."
AMAZING experience. The food was INCREDIBLE, new fantastic items, amazing service and one of THE BEST wine lists I have ever seen. What an amazing knowledgeable staff and team, and the wine pairings were PERFECT. Seriously can't wait to go back. The special pizza and the fig bruchetta are still in my dreams.
We were given a gift card to Coda di Volpe and decided to finally use it for a date night. Coda's southern Italian menu and certified wood-fired pizza were fantastic, with reasonable prices and a great wine selection. We'll be taking visitors here when they come to town; it's a great place to eat some delicious and comfortable Italian food and have a conversation.
The food is usually 5 stars and excellent. I’m a regular as I live in the neighborhood. My entree this time was 4.5/5 and it was a special. They always strive to refresh the menu. I miss the halibut though and hope it makes its way back to the menu. Service is always great. Always friendly and knowledgeable staff. Pricey, but well worth it. Classy move to donate 50% of proceeds from special dessert to Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Charity.
