What Insiders Are Saying
Coda Di Volpe is an Italian restaurant in Lakeview serving wood-fired pizzas.
This is one of my very favorite restaurants. Their pasta is homemade and they cure their meat in-house. Love!
Everything was outstanding! The pizza and arugula salad was so delicious. The service was impeccable. We will definitely be back!
Coda Di Volpe remains our neighborhood favorite. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable. The food, meant for sharing which is my favorite way to eat, never disappoints. We started with Fritto Misto (excellent), then the arugula and grape salad which we order every time, then we split one of their delicious pizzas (Salsiccia but also love the others) and then split butternut squash and gnocchi in sage butter sauce. Enjoyed every bite.
Small portions, not flavorful
Great ambiance, noise level is pretty high. Servers very attentive and the food was amazing!
Our second time here. Service was outstanding from the moment we arrived to when we received the check. The food was absolutely delicious. I grew up with a grandma from Sicily, so I'm extremely picky about my Italian food. We will definitely be back.
I liked the portion size and how everything was plated. It was all very tasty - good flavor combinations. The gnocchi was light and flavorful, all of the tomatoes were fresh. Looking forward to going back here.
Upon getting there ugh TRAFFIC even using my fave Waze app yes it takes one off the highway BUT we now have stoplights and traffic....
The restaurant is darling hip vibrant fun friendly our server DUSTIN was and is the BEST HE IS KNOWLEDABLE SWEET sooooo very patient and soooo verrry terrrrriffic
The foood is deeelish fresh beautifully plated the portions are huge we chatted to people on either side of our booth ... beyond my only complaint get martini glasses pahleeese..... I’ll be back
This is our repeat visit to CDV- now my wife's FAVORITE restaurant! Food was great- wine was even better and our server, Leah, was very attentive and had the best recommendations! And we got a visit from Billy, the owner! Everyone made us feel like we were celebrities!
Great service and food!
We had a wonderful first experience at Coda Di Volpe. Our cocktails were outstanding and food was delicious. Service was excellent as well. I especially loved the beautiful decor and big booths! I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
Great salads and pizza. Wonderful ambience. It will not disappoint
Food was tasty and service good. entrée portions a bit on the small side but good nevertheless.
Wonderful service from the moment we walked in - host stand, bar, our server. Drinks were delicious, loved the octopus appetizer and seafood pasta entree. Very lively ambiance in dining room. Solid choice in the neighborhood.
An essential lake view restaurant. Extensive Italian wine list. We had pasta but The pizzas looked amazing. Squash Gnocchi and bucatini pasta were excellent. The Napolenta pasta was hardier and perfect for a cold fall day. Don’t miss the ricotta doughnuts for dessert
I love this place! The pizzas are A-MAZING, but the pastas are also good. Super fresh ingredients, creative dishes, and beatiful decor and ambience.
The grilled octopus and pizza are delicious. The service can be a tad slow but the freshness of the food makes up for that. Very cool decor and ambiance.
Appetizers were good. We ordered pasta which was average and overpriced. The thing to get here is obviously pizza. With drinks, apps, and two mains it was rather expensive. Wanted to try and glad we did.
If you asked me how to describe this experience, I would say simply that it was fine. It was nothing special. The food was acceptable, but not great. The waiter was good. The bus staff seemed underwhelmed by their lives.
I would go back if a friend asked me to, but I wouldn't go out of my way.
Everything we had was really delicious, with the *exceptional* dishes being the pizza, roasted carrots, and desserts. Love the wine and cocktail list! We dined with our toddler and turns out we went at the right time because it was seemingly "family hour." But I would definitely come back for a romantic date later in the evening!
Great dinner, service, and ambiance. Classic negroni to start followed by the 2016 Angelin Langhe Nebbiolo. Started with Hamachi Crudo, heirloom tomato/peach salad, seafood squid ink linguini & Bavette ribeye cut. Everything highly recommended! Great date spot. Lincoln Park gem!
Overall excellent quality and attractive room. Service was polite and correct but a little slow. I was surprised that bread was not offered; that's not typical of restaurants in Italy!
This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food is always amazing (both brunch and dinner). The service is flawless and the staff is so helpful. My favorites include the chicken, pizza and bucatini.
Always great service and food. A wonderful neighborhood gem!
Always a delight to spend an evening here! The bruschetta is so tasty.
Absolutely amazing food! The ingredients were so fresh & the wine was outstanding!
Great food and service. Pizzas are yummy. The halibut and pork chop were great. Wonderful selection of Italian wine
Figure out how to serve the pizza at the same time as the other food!!
Good food, little on the pricy side. Overall very good!
Coda De Volpe was excellent. We had a surprise event that included working closely with Coda Di Volpe to pull off the surprise. They were excellent. The event was exceptional and exceeding my expectations including Coda Di Volpe going overboard with a few surprises of their own for our group.
Have been there twice and both experiences were great. Went with a party of 7 - 4 kids 12 and under - to celebrate my birthday. Couldn't have asked for a better time. Food and service were great. Adults were treated to Prosecco. Melissa came to the table to wish me a happy birthday. We were all treated to dessert. Everyone was exceptionally nice and welcoming. And the food is really good.
Had a great waiter by the name of Owen
We had a great meal with friends from out of town. The service was fantastic and atmosphere was very relaxing. We had brunch and the eggs Benedict were awesome. French toast was the best I’ve had. We shared the brick oven baked pizza, a great appetizer. The service was great as always and the prices were very reasonable for such a good meal.
A very solid choice, and the place delivered proper value and vibe as I expected from a quick look at the menu and pictures on Google. Mod decor and clean as a whistle. Salad was flavorful and downright refreshing. Bread under the focaccia was puffy and run-of-the-mill, but tomatoes etc were super. Steaks were grilled as ordered, though should have been salted a few hours before cooking - flavor was a bit lifeless, though the greens and sauce were great. Our waiter was a mild disappointment. He should have gotten us started with "hello", drinks, and an appetizer. Instead he spent an uncomfortably long interval minutes going over all of the specials on the menu in slightly cloudy and painful detail. Likely new, and surely conscientious. Please take as constructive criticism. I will go again.
Fair to good. Salad - tomatos and peaches a bit tasteless believe it or not. The zucchini blossom I didn’t care for at all. Pizzza good, very good sausage.
The service was fantastic and the food was phenomenal. I’d highly recommend this to any friend and will definitely be going back.
The ambiance and service here are both amazing. Food was good but not good enough for the price and the portions were small.
housemade brown sugar pecan gelato was really good，squid ink pasta worth a try，a great cozy environment for friends meeting
Great food and great waitress with an amazing tour of the menu, which helped us choose the right items. Go out of your way to eat here. Awesome gourmet 🍕 pizza!!
I always enjoy and evening at this restaurant. The staff is wonderful and the food is always delightful.
