Coda Di Volpe is an Italian restaurant in Lakeview serving wood-fired pizzas.
Phenomenal as always. A gem in the Southport Corridor
Great service and meal had all the little details that made it totally worthwhile.
Would highly recommend.
Consistently excellent . The food is superb as is the service . We have lived in Chicago for 7 months and dine out every Friday and Saturday night . His remains one of our top 5 . We have recommended it to many others
Everything was great and our server was great. The only unappealing thing was the manager continuously coming over and wordlessly placing the bill in front us a few times when we weren't done yet and were still ordering drinks.
Service is very good. Food is good, and could be very good. Be cautious of the Calabrian chiles they like to use. Even when they say it is mild -- it can get spicy. There are some dishes that don't benefit from the additional heat and they will use the chiles anyway (Had a great veal dish which was spoiled by too much heat). So, question your server and see if they will skip it.
Food was AMAZING! Took a little while to get drinks and was difficult to hear each talk until the dinner rush slowed down. Overall had a wonderful experience, good service (after the drinks) and yummy, creative options. I will definitely be returning!
We ordered two pasta dishes, a salad, and an appetizer and everything was great. The server’s recommendations were spot on. We also were in a hurry, and while they were not pushing us out they were accommodating to our timing.
Our waiter was outstanding and very attentive to our timing. The food was interesting, seasonal and delicious. It’s a little nicer than an any night go to place but it’s neighborhood gem.
Nice neighborhood restaurant with great decor and good food. Very loud and difficult to have a conversation if with friends directly next to you.
It looked like a great bar area which opens up to the walk during the warmer days.
IT was a beautiful evening and I would have loved to sit outside but the additional wait time made that not possible. Lovely inside, delicious food and wine. We will be back!
One of our favorite restaurants in the city. The ambience is great, and the service remarkable! The food is excellent as well! My husband loves the pork chop, and I tend to go for the chicken or a margherita pizza, both solid choices.
Enjoyed the drinks, appetizers, salad. Was a bit disappointed on the dinner, but will definitely go back to try another dinner. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff.
I think Coda di Volpe's true strength is pizza and pasta. So - their brunch is not my favorite. I'll save it for dinner. Because the pizza and pasta are truly well-made and delicious. But they do have a great sidewalk on a quiet street and soon it will be shaded by trees.
The food was fantastic!
Went in with a idea of what I wanted, not on the menu. The service person customized the pasta and I had a fabulous dinner!! Also Billy Lawless stop and chatted with us!!
Everything we ordered, albeit it was a limited menu (due to the time we came was our only availability) was surprising delicious and unique. My three different cocktails were tasty accompaniments. Our server Dustin was the best server. He was welcoming and informative.
All I got to say is really good atmosphere. Food was hands down delicious. Serves is top line very attentive. I will be coming here for a longtime. Everyone need to try this place.
It was our second time here, and it was just as good as our first dining experience. From the food to the cocktails/wine to the manager personally introducing himself to the service, we were very happy! We’ll definitely come back soon!
Creative menu never disappoints and the servers are always great!
I took my parents here along with my year-old son and there was nothing but great food and even better hospitality. Our waiter was charming informative, helpful, and the right amount of attention. The GM/Owner came around and shared some personal stories with us and made us feel very welcome.
Had a wonderful time with some friends from out of town. Wonderful food and wonderful experience!
Fukin awesome pizza !! Only rivaled by the fukin awesome atmosphere and design.
The restaurant was within a short walk of our rental apartment, so very convenient for a late evening dinner after a busy day. Four of us shared 2 salads and 2 small pizzas, and we were pleased with all items. The atmosphere was pleasant and waitstaff very attentive. It seemed that the alcoholic beverages were fairly high-priced. We each had 1 drink, making the total cost of dinner more than $100....a little steep for 2 small pizzas/salads and 4 beverages. But maybe those are typical Chicago prices? All in all a good location with very tasty food.
Service and food was very good except I ordered the appetizer special for dinner which was carrots and fava beans and peas etc. however the dish did not come with fava beans. I mentioned to the waiter and he never got back to me on that. It was very tasty but the beans were the protein and with them missing I was disappointed. I do know for sure that it was missing the beans because I happen to love them and was looking for them.
Our waitress Gaia was awesome Wish brunch menu was a little more varied but everything was very good.
Good food, service, ambiance
Brought some out of town business colleagues here for a nice neighborhood experience. They were really blown away by the ambience and "downtown" food quality. Good wine list too.
Great decor, service, and food! We loved the pizza
We loved it! We were there for my s/o’s birthday. Gaia was so gracious and sweet too. Very patient with us as we wanted to take our time a bit. We loved the ragú pizza. In fact, my s/o loves his pizza without cheese and it was perfect. The pork chop was exquisite. Dessert was a bday treat on the house! It was such a kind surprise. We will be back.
We had a couple of friends in town and they had heard about Coda from their kids so we took them. They loved it! Really impressed with the service and food and they were impressed that staff remembered my husband and I. Which is of course the cool thing about a neighborhood restaurant. The drinks, appetizers and pasta were all fabulous as was the service. Love Coda!
Love the restaurant and shared 3 specials. The deserts are fantastic as well.
Great neighborhood restaurant!
I put bday on my notes for the reservation and they read/honored it! Way to go above and beyond. So impressed with att'n to detail!
We love this place! Took my parents here from out of town and they couldn’t stop raving about it! Best & favorite pizza in Chicago! X
We had a small window of time to eat before a show at a local theater and our server was great about making sure we made it on time without feeling rushed. That was awesome!
Came away with very mixed feelings about this place. While me and dining friend had a couple of excellent drinks at the bar and enjoyed that part of the experience, the dining portion was not so amazing.
We did get some good recommendations from the server for wine and main courses, the food was not nearly up to par with what I had read or experienced so far. Both dishes came out lukewarm to begin, and I was not impressed with the flavors or attention to presentation.
The dessert was quite good, but afterward, we felt very rushed to pay and leave, as it seemed like the server was in a hurry to leave.
I might go back for a cocktail, but would probably have no interest in eating there again.
So good I’ll be back next week and the week after
Nice ambience. Server gave us excellent suggestions. Started with burrata, pizza with mortadella and pistachio and meatballs. Everyone of those was delicious. Our entrees were equally delicious. Chicken Diavolo was juicy and just the right kick. Lamb ravioli, gnocchi and pasta Bolognaise were all good too. Tiramisu was one of the best we’ve had. Only downside here was the temperature of the restaurant. It fluctuated between being cold and hot.
Great. Wonderful place every time so far. Beautiful drinks and cocktails. Exquisite pizzas. Great for lunch, brunch, dinner. Well affordable by city standards. Go there!
