Coda Di Volpe
What Insiders Are Saying
Coda Di Volpe is an Italian restaurant in Lakeview serving wood-fired pizzas.
Coda di volpe, whether it’s for brunch, dinner or just a pizza, is always on point. Not only is the pizza the best napoletana around, but the curated meat is delicious and made in house - where else does that happen? Ambience and vibe is laid back, yet refined and tasteful, and nothing is better than hanging outside on the patio in the summer. It feels like Italy in west Lakeview!!
This was our second time here. Once again, the food was wonderful and the service great. Our waiter talked my wife into ordering the pork chop after he described how they brine the pig themselves. It was wonderfully tender and flavorful. I had the rack of lamb, and I must say that it was one of the best racks of lamb I've ever ordered in a restaurant. It was approaching the racks of lamb I cook at home; it was that good.
Service was excellent - our waiter was very attentive & friendly. Pizzas were pretty good, though I've had even better. That said, I'd come back to try some of the other pies. Energetic vibe to the place. Good for a group celebration.
Amazing restaurant with amazing food and top notch customer service! I had a great time enjoying the delicious food they cooked, specially the grilled octopus, it was phenomenal!
favorite spot in the neighborhood! delicious food, outstanding drinks, and great service. It's a beautiful spot. Highly recommend!
Another great meal at Coda Di Volpe--tried the mussels appetizer and it was delicious and garlicky. We love the pizzas and the salads here. The service is always excellent--efficient and caring.
Great wine list. Pompeii smash drink was top notch. Arugula salad is great. Pastas and pizzas are all wonderful and leave room for the doughnuts for dessert
Great food. Good time
I very much like Coda di Volpe
The feeling & scale of the room - intimate and welcoming.
Food excellent (although pheasant pasta a little too salty)
Noise level could be softened- but this is problem with many restaurants.
The desert offering of fresh fruit was really appreciated (let’s help reduce processed sugar)
Overall, a delightful experience
Coda is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Four friends enjoyed the BEST margarita buffalo pizza (I recommend adding mushrooms to a margarita pizza too - it's delicious), the special pizza of the day (prosciutto, white sauce pizza), the gnocci and the pomodoro pasta and a great few bottles of wine. The food is just outstanding - and it is worth every penny. Atmosphere is fantastic, its great for a fun night but also a date night or meet the parents evening. Staff is friendly, helpful with the menu, and enjoyable. 10/10 will always go back. A Chicago must.
Great Italian food in Lakeview. Love the wine list incorporating the different regions of Italy
Absolutely outstanding food & incredible staff! Perfect for a date night. We went at 8pm, and it was not that loud at all. Will bring my parents here when then visit Chicago. Can’t wait to go back soon.
Food and service were great! Several excellent brunch items!
This place has terrific food. Ordered the burrata bruschetta and octopus to start then a few homemade pastas. All delicious! Loved the lively atmosphere and attentive staff. Will come here again!
Overall, a great after movie dining experience. Wine, salad, pizza, cappuccino and desert were all good. Atmosphere and service also excellent.
Fantastic all around. Food is outstanding! The service was terrific.
Excellent service. Pricey for the amount and quality. Taste was really good but not mind blowing. Ambience nice. Dessert was exceptional...lemon cheesecake.
Great experience and excellent service. There was a desert (chocolate carrot cake) on the open table menu that was wasn’t available at the restaurant. Other that it was an exceptional restaurant.
Great restaurant! The food is very good. It feels like a special occasion place but costs the same as other less special places. We plan to go more often. Southport has come of age!
Our server, Dustin was excellent. The food was amazing. The ambience was cozy. This is my new favorite neighborhood spot.
We had a great meal that was not as heavy as Italian can often be, the waiter was excellent, and will def return
Yummy Pizzas! Great caesar salad, octopus appetizer, pizzas, gelato and cocktails!
The menu is weird and it is as if they are trying too hard. There was not anything warm and cozy about this place. Super expensive for 3 pieces of fruit and the chicken on my salad was not even cooked. Thought it would
Be great with all the hype-NO!
Loved the booths! The food was delicious, would definitely come again.
I had an incredible dining experience at Coda di Volpe. I went for the Restaurant Week menu and had the arugula salad, black truffle risotto, and s’mores bundino. The portions were generous, especially for a Restaurant Week tasting menu, and each item was absolutely delicious. I also had the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted (a tequila, mezcal, grapefruit juice seasonal drink with an olive salt rim - it wasn’t too sweet or too sour). I can’t wait to go back!
We went for restaurant week and had never been. We actually love to go out and are not “restaurant week people”. We will be back! Thanks for a great night!
Dustin was amazing. Rally friendly and made our experience fun. He should be promoted as he knows how to manage people and staff!
I have been wanting to try Coda di Volpe for months, and it did not disappoint! We initially went for brunch to take part in Restaurant Week, but both opted to just order a la carte after realizing we weren't hungry enough for three courses each. The bottomless bellinis ($20) were a great deal, and were delicious, and the food was flavorful and a generous portion. Our service was also top notch -- I can't wait to come back for dinner!
Honestly, where do you go for such a high quality brunch? This is not your eggs-over-easy kinda place. The dishes are creative, expertly prepared and simply delish. I can imagine the dinner and will make my way back soon. Way to go Coda....
Restaurant Week was a good time to visit this restaurant, because courses were full size and there were a few additional choices that were not on the regular menu. Food is always delicious, but slightly higher in price than neighboring restaurants, so a good place to go for a treat.
We dined here for brunch on Saturday and everything was fantastic! The food was exceptional. I had the restaurant week menus while everyone else orders aka cart. The lemon coffee cake on the restaurant week menu should be on the permanent menu - it was a little bit of summer on a cold day. Bottomless Bellinis were delicious and well with it. Our server was so attentive and accommodating and we were never rushed despite being there over 2.5 hours. I can’t wait to come back for dinner. I highly recommended!!
Went for restaurant week! Get the arugula salad and any of the pizzas. The risotto was very average. Great waitstaff!!!
Forgot it was restaurant week, what a pleasant surprise! I made a reservation for my dad to celebrate his 80th with my boyfriend and his daughter. They had an amazing time and loved every bite! Service was great, as usual. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, was that they forgot that I had marked "birthday" when making the reservation. In addition, when the hostess called to confirm, I reminded her that it was my dad's 80th and she thanked me for letting her know. However, somehow the information was not passed along to the server. His birthday was not acknowledged. Had I been there, I would have touched base with someone in FOH, but alas, I was not. Would have hoped communicating the special occasion online and over the phone would have sufficed. Still, we will be back! Coda is amazing for brunch and dinner!!!!
Went for restaurant week brunch. Not very creative. Forgot items ordered. Drinks were good.
First time trying this spot and went for restaurant week. We were a group and were able to try all the options. All of it was amazing. Our server was great too. The s’more dessert gets top marks.
Very good service. Nice place. Good food
My boyfriend and I came here for Restaurant Week and had a great experience. We were quickly seated in the cozy, beautiful restaurant and our waiter was at our table within moments. To start, we split the Arugula Salad and Pork Prosciutto Meatballs - both were amazing. Second, we had the Chicken Diavola - juicy and flavorful and the Salsiccia Pizza - good as well, but not very memorable (could have been that my taste buds were overworked by the first three dishes). I typically don't order dessert and my boyfriend doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, but given the Restaurant Week deal, we ordered the S'mores Budino. We wanted s'more ;)! Lots more... It was so delicious that we were fighting over the last bite. We will be back next time that we're in the area!
We had a great dinner on Saturday night with the snow some of our party was late. They sat us anyways because we had a reservation and were very kind to serve us as we arrived. As usual the service was fantastic, the waiter was great, the drinks were amazing, food was DELICIOUS. The manager of the restaurant stopped by to make sure we were having a lovely time - which we were. I am very impressed when the manager stops by - you don't see that very often anymore. Great hospitality.
Excellent service and lovely food. Always feel a bit rushed as waiters come to fast to clear plates even though waitress says no rush she’s always checking if you’ve paid the bill. Also very noisy so not the best date place but will still be back!
Phenomenal dining experience! As a group of 6 we were able to sample many items on the menu and everyone had great things to say about their choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I believe it may have been the owner that stopped by our table to ask about our meals and then offered us complementary champagne since we were celebrating my 30th birthday. Looking forward to another visit!
