The food was alright, but in retrospect we many have enjoyed going there to try their flagship dish (rotisserie chicken) rather than have a burger. Waiters were fantastic and the vibe was good. The tables are a little too close together, but this is not a huge issue unless you’re going to have a private conversation.
Great restaurant, excellent service, lovely food. Would re-visit.
My husband and I took our kids last night for dinner. a real disappointment. firstly the welcome from one of the waitresses at the door was terrible no smile. luckily the lady who looked after our table was lovely. firstly no tomato ketchup so my husband had to go and buy some for the kids. then the salad of the day had run out. as had the green sauce. the biggest problem was the chicken was luke warm so had to send it back. meanwhile the chips then went cold while we were waiting. i had to ask for some on the house when the chicken came back but surely this should have been offered or at least a free glass of wine while we waited? £6 for a small bottle of Peroni which wasn't cold enough is extortionate!
prices on website cheaper than in restaurant chicken was £24 not £22 and other items more expensive too.
I would not recommend this restaurant overpriced and underwhelming. I could have put some chickens in the oven myself for a fraction of the cost as these had not come from a rotisserie! they were tasteless too. bill came to £98 and my husband and I were still hungry. we all left v dissatisfied.
Really disappointing - small portion, service was OK
Bottomless brunch but our glasses really were not being topped up. Our table was also used as a serving table to other guests, considering there is Covid around I don’t think this was appropriate and still quite rude regardless while we are trying to have a meal.
The food was delicious and the staff were amazing.
Everything was wonderful.
Will definitely return.
Delicious food, value for money, amazing service. 1000% would recommend
Everything we ordered was excellent and good value.
Nice setting and good atmosphere. Ordered an avo toast which came with option of having egg and crispy bacon added. I asked if I could have scrambled but was told there was only the option of fried (which is odd as most restaurants cook egg to your order) and so I asked for a hard fried egg and was told it can only come as medium, so no choice there really. They had ran out of crispy bacon and both Acai bowl options which we were told once we had decided on what to order. The cost just didnt seem justifiable after that. Apart from that, it was a decent place for lunch overall.
Waitress was awful. Cancelled out started without telling us, brought us our mains then offered us one of our starters. Took a very long time to bring the bill. Food was unfortunately sub-par, pretty but bland.
Amazing food, cozy and friendly place. Would definitely recommend!
We had really Good time , food was served in really short period of time which we really appreciated , staff was able to explained everything Well and they were really friendly. Definitely recommend this place.
We met for a family brunch, the restaurant was relaxed and we could all chat. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good value and good.
Amazing brunch experience. Attentive, fun and friendly service. Cocotte never dissapoint us! Definitely our favourite restaurant from Shoreditch
We enjoyed our lunch. The ratatouille accompanying our "mains" was superlative. However, only 4 out of 10 for the chicken Caesar Salad: the presence of anchovies on the salad and/or within the dressing is completely non-negotiable, yet the Caesar Salad I was given was an anchovy-free zone, leaving the dish a bit bland. Service was with a smile, but the wine took a long time to come as the staff could not find a corkscrew and had to go borrow one from a neighbouring restaurant. The charming waitress left the door open when she went "corkscrew sourcing" and, in toto, the front door was left open three times on a chilly day, when our table was two down from the door. Also, the restaurant lights kept going out. Nevertheless, the service was otherwise exemplary and the staff attentive. I like the place and the grub. Cool.
Chicken should be hot. Desserts where not available at lunch sadly but at apart from that it was good.
Pretty poor service from some less than friendly waiting staff. Rushed to order and after ordering drinks (within minutes of arriving) was told not to take to long after requesting some more time to look through the menu. Plenty of Deliveroo orders were coming which let a cold breeze in frequently which is expected and acceptable, but the way the Deliveroo drivers were rudely spoken to was unpleasant to witness. The food was good but I won’t be visiting again.
The food was very good, however, the staff were rude, lazy and slow.
We were given the bill and asked to leave after 1 hour 50 minutes when according to the booking confirmation email we could have a table for ‘2 hours 30 minutes for parties of up to 6’. Disappointing service from the staff and the manager who pretended not to know what their own booking terms were. Service was a real let down which is a shame as the food was good.
Good food- Chicken based with good veggie options/sides. Small but adequate wine list. Glasses of Cote du Rhone esp good. Excellent Apple Slice dessert!!
Slightly rushed but friendly service.
Would go again
The chicken soup was ok, nothing special but eatable.
The truffle burger too oily and not tasty.
The concept is good but need to do better in terms of savoury.
Excellent rotisserie chicken and sides.
The food was great, the service for the bottomless Prosecco was diligent.
The chicken and the sides were excellent. Great value for the portions. The desserts were excellent as well!
Top class food and service - 2nd visit. Really recommend the bottomless Prosecco mate
Poor service. Went for breakfast. They were out of many things on the menu, incl both acai bowls and bacon. Understand there are supply shortages, but a revised menu or even a kind caveat from the servers would have been appreciated.
We were kicked out after 1.5 hours even though the whole restaurant was empty, and the manager wasn’t kind about it either. The avo toast tasted good but it was tiny for £8, not great value.
Good food but not enough staff. Waited 15 mins for a menu and drink on a Thursday evening. They seemed to concentrate on takeaway orders, not diners. No dessert menu offered. The 6 of us eventually left to the bar next door in order to get another drink!
Great food but it’s freezing even inside on a chilly morning!
Good chicken ☺️
Very nice experience. The chicken was delicious and well seasoned, and the sides were also really good. Definitely a good dinner.
It was delicious
Veg was a bit undercooked; carrots were still hard.
Great chicken. Really good selection of lovely side dishes and really good size portions.
Very good vegan food and this is saying a meat enthusiast.
Lovely cosy place for brunch with a wide menu variety. Lots of healthy options too. Quite pricey but it is expected in Shoreditch. I had the lentil salad (delicious) and the portion was huge so worth the money. Wish that they had syrups for the coffee but that's just me being picky!
Secret gem. Went for Saturday brunch and it wasn’t too busy. Restaurant was really accommodating with last minute change in number. Food was great but I mark it down for the coffee not as good as hoped.
Lovely food, lovely drinks a great menu and friendly staff, I will be back soon :-)
On arrival to a near empty cafe, we were shown to a table at the back of the cafe, next to where the waitress was making coffee & trays were piled. I asked if we could move to a table for 2 in the middle of the cafe to be told to wait by the manager while she checked. After several minutes during which time she used the phone, she said we could though clearly reluctant to do so. Pretentious for a small cafe which was a shame as the food was good.
Fantastic service & delicious food!
The menu had a great selection.
