It started off well. We were greeted right away and our server was at our table , initial entrees came out quickly . But went downhill from there . Surprised at how mediocre the food was despite the high ratings . My friend and I had omelettes and they were “not bad” but they really just OK. For the price and ratings, I definitely would’ve expected a less rubbery omelette with more flavor . As it got busier, it looked like there was still only one server so there was not much follow up and when we ordered the chocolate cake , it took well over 15 mins for us to get it (closer to 20 mins actually) and if we hadn’t followed up we would not have been told it takes at least 10 mins to prepare it (although at this point it was well past that time ). A lady came thru with what looked like a Bible and began chatting it up w customers eating . Then found herself at one of the tables and not too long after I could barely hear our conversation as the lady started singing at the top of her lungs . Being from SF, I understand the various characters in the city. So that was fine , the first time around . But as we stayed she continued to get into bursts of singing at the top of her lungs to where she was even standing . At this point I felt it was just disruptive . I flagged the male host down because our server was nowhere to be found as we needed our bill and been waiting , I gave him feedback about the noise . And what I received was a defensive “oh that’s Stacey she comes here everyday and she’s harmless” . I said I didn’t say she was here to harm but what I am saying is it’s becoming disruptive . We came here to eat a meal that isn’t exactly cheap and converse and can barely hear ourselves . I do think she should’ve been addressed the first time around . But for him to say this happens all the time certainly doesn’t make it appealing for me to go back . Not to mention he was applauding her outbursts , literally. B/w mediocre food, slowness & disruption, never coming back .

Good vibe. Nice menu selections. Cozy place with a duo providing live music and at a good mouse level. Enjoyed the roast chicken and mushroom gravy. Friendly.
This wasn’t our first visit so had higher expectations. While the food was ok, it was served altogether (main course came out before soup was even finished) :( overall, Coquette is trying to just survive and doing it well

The perfect dinner spot for my 45th Bday! They had an awesome band playing music, Vladimir was a fantastic waiter, and the food was INCREDIBLE. I had the beef wellington with bone marrow, potato gratin with goat cheese, endive salad, shared a Bordeaux wine, lava cake and blood orange sorbet for dessert. You cannot go wrong here for a nice evening out. Great experience.

I have been a fan of Cocotte for several years. I love the great food, the gracious service and the intimate ambience. I call it "French Cozy." I was very pleased to return to the restaurant for the first time since the pandemic and the food and service did not disappoint, but the live music being performed in the front of the restaurant made conversation nearly impossible. The jazz ensemble was quite good, but that's not really the point. It seems wrong-headed that an establishment known as the perfect place for intimate dining and conversation would create a situation that made that impossible. I realize that for the past year, restaurants had to "pull out all the stops" to survive and use new ways of attracting customers during these stark time, but the noise issue actually detracts from the dining experience and, given the excellence of this wonderful restaurant, that seems a shame.
Went for restaurant week and it was such a great experience. Beautiful ambiance that is suitable for girls night out or even a romantic date! Staff was very friendly and attentive and food was amazingly delicious. My party were able to try to cheese soufflé (highly recommend), pate, king salmon, Wellington (amazing), banana cream brûlée (a tad sweet but great for sharing) and a delicious flourless chocolate cake. They also had live music that night (don’t know if it’s a regular thing). I would definitely like to return again ❤️
The live band was so loud that we could not even hear ourselves think. We had to leave. The service was slow and rude.

We arrived on time for our reservation. I had requested an outdoor table as my friend had already dined at Cocotte pre-pandemic. He remembered the tables being quite close together inside and asked to dine outdoors. They did have two small tables outside that we could’ve chosen. But when my friend checked the seating inside, he changed his mind as he saw the seating had dramatically decreased and the remaining tables were very distanced apart. Also their doors at the entrance were completely open as if there was no wall at the front and just open onto the sidewalk.
Cocotte allowed to change to indoor dining. They said if we didn’t mind waiting for a couple to finish their meal and then sanitize table. Which we didn’t mind. We talked outside and listened to the music from a local singer stationed at the front entrance by the bar.
Once we seated they asked for our selections from the prix fixe menu.
My friend selected the Aged Cheddar Soufflé with salad, Beef Wellington with a glass of red wine. I ordered the Duck Rillette and slow cooked Wild Salmon.
We nibbled on their bread and olive tapenade with our drinks.
I sampled my friend’s airy soufflé when our appetizers arrived. My duck rillette also came with some blackberry compote which added a nice touch to the duck.
When our entrees arrived, we split the beef Wellington and salmon between our plates making our own surf and turf.
The Beef Wellington was a perfect medium rare, moist and flavorful. The salmon was moist and delicious with a crispy skin. We thoroughly enjoyed our entrees.
For dessert we had three choices. We passed on the Banana Creme Brûlée this time. He ordered the Apple Tart Tatin and I ordered their Chocolate Cake Fondant with a glass of port.
His apple tart was yummy but my Chocolate Cake Fondant was absolutely delicious 😋 It was a chocolate lava cake with a sliced strawberry and a bit of sauce which it didn’t need. We were very happy with the meal and service!!!

Took a friend there for his birthday. It was the first time for all of us. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated very well. Attentive service. The food was outstanding. We began with the charcuterie platter. As it was Restaurant Week, two of us ordered the Pre-Fixe 3-course menu. We shared our appetizers of a duck rillette, a salad, and a cheese souffle. Two of us ordered the beef fillet mignon wellington. And an apple tarte tartin for dessert. The three of us were in heaven. Every bite was delicious. Decadence. A food-lovers' dream. Parking can be challenging. (I tried to upload photos but kept getting an error message.)
I love Cocotte. This time tho, the food quality seemed down a notch since last time I ate there in the Fall. Not as fresh, meat overcooked a bit. Pâté was nearl inedible. Live music is a nice touch, but it was really loud that night. My dining companions and I had trouble hearing one another, and we were 4 tables away from the band.
My family had a wonderful dinner at Coyote. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name) was a wonderful Frenchman who was friendly, entertaining and efficient. His presence definiteky contributed to the ambience. We ate outside next to a heater which was needed as the night went in. The Beef Wellington was fabulous and the desserts were delicious as well.

I don't think they were properly prepared for Easter brunch. Short staffed and the chef was annoyed when I asked for a fried egg on my sandwich. Which never happened. I am sure under regular circumstances it would have been a great experience.

I went for my birthday dinner and was sadly disappointed. The staff was great and very friendly. The food, however, was just okay. My table had got the beef wellington and the pork with the polenta and broccolini. That was tasty but the wellington was so gray in color and had a microwaved appearance. My boyfriend even had to spit out a piece because he simply could not chew it.
Very disappointing for a ticket reaching almost $200 for two people.

I traditionally do not write reviews but I have discussed our birthday dinner two nights ago
with friends about the service and our disappointment. I feel it would serve the restaurant better and public if I said my piece about what I liked and did not. We got a great table indoors, with great ambiance, with a waiter that acted like his hair was on fire. When I made the reservation I said it was a birthday for my wife and would like something chocolate. Our mistake was on the order of Chauterire that had only three kinds of pork and great bread..nothing else. The bouillabaisse was ok but a small amount of fresh fish.
I reminded the waiter about bringing chocolate when my partner was not at the table. The waiter brought it to two women sitting not far away with a lovely candle. They said they did not order it but wanted to keep it since the day before it was her birthday. I then called over our waiter who disappears easily and said can you bring one of those. He looks at me like I am impatient and brings a delectable lava warm chocolate cake without a candle. I said what about a candle? He looks at me like I am from Mars and walks away.
In his favor, he made a good pour of our second glass of wine. I would like to write this off as a language issue but I am not naive either.
Great parklet vibe - the heaters worked well. The live music was nice. The food was great, especially the Beef Wellington and the Rotisserie chicken.
Cocotte offers basic bistro fare in a pleasant venue and location -- it's in a small food-service cluster on a residential Hyde Street neighborhood block.
Service is prompt & excellent, house wines are quite decent, ambience small-bistro pleasant.
The food is absolutely adequate for an escape from your own cooking, if pretty basic: the onion soup could use at least a tablespoon of any well-bodied red wine (try adding some from your glass of house merlot!); the "Beef Wellington" is generous the desserts are quite tasty -- I really enjoyed my Tarte Tartin.
If you find cold temperatures a poor companion to your meal, choose Cucotte's outdoor seating! The infrared heaters do the trick, while the indoor seating -- due to the complete absence of a front wall -- means essentially sitting outdoors sans heat.
Overall, Cucotte is pleasant and a reasonable expenditure for your evening escape from COVID isolation.
Another amazing dinner and the first after re-opening from the Covid shut down for our family. The band duo was such a great addition and so energetic for the vibe on Russian Hill. Food never disappoints and the staff is always on top of it. Highly recommend this for any special event, date night or otherwise.
Service was a rushed, why I don't know. Food was sub par for our group. Music was excellent. Perhaps an off night.
I loved everything about this resturant, the staff are wonderful and helpfull, the food is always excellent, the parklet is lit up and heated, and they have live jazz! Such a treat to hear music again!
Cocotte is outstanding. The food is unbelievably good - classic French fare. The wine list is solid, and the atmosphere is amazing.
Our experience was outstanding! Located on charming Hyde Street in Russian Hill, Cocotte is truly a San Francisco gem. The dishes, from appetizers to desert, where delicious. The staff are incredibly professional and the Parisian ambiance is wonderfully romantic.
This place is great! Good food, service and live jazz? How cool is that. And considering the dining was outdoors on a parklet, the noise level wasn't bad at all. Definitely recommend!
