This place is the best! Amazing food and atmosphere, they've done an incredible job pivoting to outdoor dining during the pandemic. The live music on Wednesdays is an added bonus. :)
Not sure it's fair to review under covid times, but it did take a really long time to get our first course (30 min). Once we got it, then the rest of service was OK. I would like to go back to try under more normal circumstances one day.
Very nice brunch during covid times. Plenty of well-spaced outdoor seating. Delicious chicken panini. Fried chicken burger was good too but not as good as the panini. Good fries and very nice white wine, shallot mussels. Good value.
eating on the street in a parking spot maynot be the best ambiance but these days it is just fine by me,the trees are lovely too.
the food is the very best thing in or out of quarantine, under any circumstances,a wonderful meal
Amazing food, wine, and music. Phenomenal atmosphere, and the outdoor seating is perfect.
Such a lovely atmosphere. Great place to take a date, and the Beef Wellington was outstanding. 5 stars
Everyone is adjusting to life outdoors, I'll give them a break for that. I've been a Cocotte fan for years and they still deliver. Bone marrow!
It’s amazing and you should go
Great food. The weather wasn't cooperating and a little cold for outside. When eating indoors resumes my scores will go up
Fantastic French food. Service was excellent. The live music (including a saxophone player) on Saturday night really landed the punch. In tis crazy time, eating amazing food and listening beautiful live music echoing off the streets of Russian Hill was a blessing.
It was one of those great San Francisco autumn days so brunch was delightful. Not much traffic so little noise. The only issue we had was that two of us were not able to open the menu from the Q-codes. However, our server brought up the menu on his own cell phone and left it with us to look at.
Would love to see more vegetarian/vegan food on the menu!
The service was excellent. They worked to make our time lovely. Great charming atmosphere with the lights. Food great
Great food. They really care about quality all the way from the food to the booze. We got amazing French onion soup, mussles in white win, osso bucco and fries l. The mussles been the best that I ever had and the rest was good as well. For alcohol we got Chimas blue that was priced at reasonable $12. Highly recommended.
Outstanding as usual! The new outdoor seating was nice and service and food were fantastic!
Some Chefs didn’t have masks on. Waiter took our phones back inside where “the light was better to scan the menu QR code” - thoughtful but if you touch our phones it defeats the whole purpose of a contactless menu...
They need some work on covid protocol. Don’t go if you’re concerned.
We went just for banana creme brulee! Absolutely amazing and perfect ambiance.
the perfect food, table distance and ambiance, exactly what the Dr ordered after Covid ..
Its the typeof restaurant that there aren't enough of in SF. Neighborhood bistro with great food and a friendly atmosphere.
We love Cocotte! We had been a few times before lockdown, and were so excited to see they had a lovely outdoor seating area set up. We went last weekend for our first meal out since SIP began... what a treat! As always, very friendly and personable staff, and delicious food. We always order the Mussels Mariniere which are amazing. Their menu is small (only a few items change seasonally) and we've tried mostly everything on there - all very good. The coq au vin, pork shank osso bucco, and beef wellington are some favorites. That said, you can't go wrong! It's so nice to be able to visit again, we'll definitely be back soon!
Wonderful neighborhood spot. They even have music outside on Sat night. One of our favorite spots.
I have really appreciated Cocotte during this Pandemic time. Today I ordered the duck salad. It was yummy and light. The fried avocado was kind of fun. My husband like his mussels and I saw him pour some of the broth on his fries, because it was so good.
I would recommend Cocotte.
It was like being in Paris. We loved the outside tables and ambience. Food was delicious and service was superb.
They created a very nice Covid-safe sidewalk atmosphere. Both the Coq au vin and their special pasta were amazing! The staff was wonderful!
The food was amazing, it was my time having beef Wellington and we already want to go back. The staff went above and beyond for my daughter as well.
I've been here a few times, but it's been awhile. I came because we were in the neighborhood and they offered outdoor dining. Happy we came. The outdoor set up for Coronavirus was very good. A number of tables spread out so you are far from other diners. We started with the lobster beet salad - it was very good. Then the whole roasted chicken, done to perfection, lots leftover to take home The molten chocolate was delicious. Wine was good. Server was good.
It was nice to sit outside on a pleasant night in the city. All was fine, nothing outstanding.
My favorite neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommend. The live music was a BONUS. And although it was freezing, somehow the restaurant's tables seem to be sheltered from the wind.
Amazing staff - unreal food - great atmosphere even in Covid environment
I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years, but this was my first time at Cocotte. I truly enjoyed the food and the experience. They really made the most of outdoor dining. David, our server, was attentive and pleasant to talk to.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The Coq au Vin was flavorful and presented masterfully. The bottle of Albariño we ordered was dry and “minerally” on the palette. The banana creme brûlée is one of my favorite desserts I’ve had in a while.
Great food and they do as good a job as they can in these times of Covid.
Odd to be sitting on the street while people run around you. Probably a lot nicer to eat inside. This review is Mostly for the food though, which was ok but nothing special.
The food was good and reasonably priced. However they did not share the wine list, we ordered two glasses of red and we were surprised that for one glass cost $17. For two glasses the wine was more expensive that the food.
Tables appropriately spaced on the sidewalk. No heaters but none needed the night we were there. Candlelight and low traffic on Hyde made for a casual, romantic evening.
CURBSIDE DINNING LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED. JUST A SIGH OF THE TIMES....
The food was great and the live music was very pleasant.
In this time of Covid, Cocotte has figured out how to offer an expansive menu, provide good service and do their best to provide some ambience on the sidewalk in front of their restaurant. We applaud their efforts, really enjoyed our meal— the food was outstanding – – and the service was so welcoming! We had the half chicken and filet Wellington and shared a bottle of red wine.
This restaurant has dealt with COVID 19 super well. Their outdoor dining is comfortable and well lit for the evening.
You must get their white wine mussels. Some of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Food was delicious, employees were wearing gloves and masks, very knowledgeable. Live music on a Monday, was a nice surprise. I had noted in my reservation which dessert and that it was my bf's birthday and they brought it out to his surprise :) entrees did take a little while to come out after starters, but we were taking our time with wine so was fine.
If you want to know what it would be like to wander into a French bistro in France (not San Francisco) then make a point to wander into Cocotte. It is unpretentious delicious authentic French cooking with good service. This was a Tue eve during prime time Coronavirus fear, so things were quiet and it was easy to converse, linger over Coc au Vin, Gnocchi (Parisienne) and a spicy Pinot. I’d been here for happy hour at the small intimate bar, but had wanted to come back for dinner ever since. Thoroughly enjoyed my bday dinner.
