Coco's Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Out of town relatives came into town to celebrate Mom's 92 nd birthday. Our waiter was extremely attentive. The menu choices were varied and everyone enjoyed their selections. It was a cool space and tables were well spaced. Our table was waiting for us. We all agreed a return visit will happen.
Friday night dinner with friends. ..promptly seated upon arrival.. we each tried a different cocktail and all were winners.. as were the entrees.. duck / red trout / lemon sole.. we even shared some desserts.. 4 drinks + 4 dinners +1 bottle of wine + 2 desserts + tip = $225.
I found my meal to be okay--but just okay. The sauce for the chicken marsala was uninspired and bland. The salad was basically one type of greens, shredded carrots, and dressing. I did like the Old Fashioned cocktail, and the fresh, warm bread. This was my first time dining there, and based on the reputation, I expected a better meal and more inspired taste and presentation, especially at $30 or so a plate.
Food was extremely tasty and well prepared, but issues in the kitchen had us waiting FOREVER for both our appetizers and entress--so much so that the apologetic waiter comped our app and a glass of wine in hopes that we'd give them another try. Food prices are a bit on the high end for what you do ultimately receive, but the quality supercedes the quantity. Go for a great meal that leaves you satisfied but not over stuffed. We will try again (if I can convince my spouse!)
My husband and I went to Coco’s for dinner, an easy reservation made on my favorite App (Open Table, of course!) We celebrated our five years of marriage over a bottle of good wine and food that was phenomenal. Moreover, a very kind and very attractive server (Adam) was always at our table at the right moment, was so incredibly sweet and had a real interest in making our night so special. He even comp’d our dessert in honor of our anniversary. Overall, this was a prototypical fine dining experience and a perfect evening for us. Thank you so very much!
One of the best restaurants in Dayton that I have been to. The bread and butter were fantastic and I could not stop eating it. Service was very friendly and it was really nice to be able to make reservations online. Food came out quick and was so delicious. A bit pricey but well worth the money. Came to celebrate an anniversary and we both left very satisfied.
Working in Dayton for a few months now and have been looking and trying different restaurants in the area. Coco's is one of the better ones, a little more up scale, with some finer food choices. I had the duck and enjoyed it, although it was a little tough (not unusual for duck sometimes). The sauce, presentation and side was very good. Prices were reasonable but on the high end for Dayton. This spot is worth a go!
My spouse and I met three of our friends at Cocoa's Bistro for dinner on 09/09. Having eaten at CBs three or four times previously we were confident all would be good.
We hadn't been to CBs in a few years and were a bit taken aback by the increase in the menu prices.
Unfortunately, our food was not as good as in previous visits. Since I had never tried one of CBs pizzas, I opted for the pepperoni pizza along with a salad. The pizza dough was much too salty, almost to the point of my sending back. For our appetizer we ordered hummus and it was good.
We ordered a bottle of red wine which was good.
Our three friends who we met at CBs, two had been to CBs previously (with us) and one was new to CBs. Our friend who was there for the first time stated her food was fair but nothing outstanding. The other two friends reported their meals as good.
I am confident we will give CBs another chance.
Coco's is always a good place. Food is really nice. Not my favorite restaurant in dayton but a good 3rd choice. They tend to have a lot of fruit flies. It can get really hard to eat with them flying around and it makes me nervous about their cleanliness. I wish they would shut down for two weeks and do a deep clean.
The atmosphere is calm and chic, and the menu offerings were varied to appeal to many tastes. We had the charcuterie board to start which was good and unusual. A friend had trout that he liked. The major downside was a terribly spicy vegetarian chili advertized as vegan cassoulet. It was so hot it burned your lips. Dish was returned, but meal took so long there was no time to get anything else.
The overall experience we great but a few things that could have made this a knock out. Our visit was for business, so we are all on a time table. Ordering and getting lunch was very timely, however after we ordered desert it took over a 1/2 hour to get it. Which put us all late for meetings back at the office. Some of the food was delish for example the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Some of the food was non impressive such as the fish sandwich's bread was so hard it you would break a tooth if you ate it.
Excellent service and always changing menu that features a nice variety. I have been to Coco's several times and they do not disappoint. The food is excellent and the owner and wait staff are engaging and friendly. Great place to come unwind with a nice meal and bottle of wine after a long week at work. Also perfect for date night or special events. The atmosphere is upbeat in a fine dining setting, perfect for business outings as well.
