We're a Dayton Original, an independent restaurant where you can have your power lunch, a rehearsal dinner, a fun night, or a place to propose. You'll enjoy contemporary American food, always with amazing service, and reasonable prices for wine and spirits. Thank you Dayton - we love you as much as you love us.
The food was delicious but my tomato soup was brought out cold. The grilled cheese was delicious. Our waiter was helpful but extremely busy.
We get to Dayton for a few days at least once a year, and always go to Coco's at least twice during our visit. The food, wine list, ambience and service make it Dayton's best restaurant.
Most recently we ordered the beet salad with goat cheese, which lists 1000 island for the dressing. As that seemed an odd pairing, we were going to request a different dressing. However, our waiter explained that the "1000 island" is beet based and quite good; if we didn't like it, he would bring us another. We are so glad we followed his recommendation! The dressing is delicious and a perfect match with the salad.
This level of service excellence typifies Coco's. The menu is varied for all tastes (including my pescatarian husband), the wine list is reasonable with good choices, and the ambience is perfect for both a quiet night out or celebration.
I have gotten the Bourbon shrimp salad three times in the last 2 years and every time it is excellent. Perfect sweet salad. Enjoyed a glass of delicious Jelly Jar red blend suggested by our waiter.
Dinner tonight was fabulous! The newest version of the menu is outstanding and our server, Josh was great.
Michael is great! Food and service were both awesome!
Great food and service. We ate in the bar area and it was very nice. I recommend for anyone who wants real food and to get away from franchise yuck! This place is a real gem!
Coco's is an excellent foodie place. Food is a little on the Gourmet side but well prepared. Service has always been very good. Ambiance is pleasant.
.In years past we have enjoyed going to Coco's for special occasions: our anniversary, Valentine's Day, our birthdays, granddaughter's graduation from Xavier, etc. On May 10 we were there to celebrate my 73rd birthday. Our bill came to $146.00 and the meal was mediocre. We had the fried brie (which was good, but the toast pieces were dried and overtoasted) halibut special, but it did not taste so special. My husband had a Caesar's salad and I had chosen the house salad, but asked to switch to a creamy dressing. I had to send my salad back because there was a vinegarette(sp?) taste and my stomach cannot handle vinegar dressings. It tasted as if the regular dressing was put on it and then a creamy dressing was put over it. Our server was very nice and eager to please however.
We did not feel that it was as nice an experience over all as it had been on previous occasions. We used to enjoy the uniqueness and eclectic menu. So we were underwhelmed this time.
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to comment.
Fabulous as always. Coco’s is my go to restaurant in Dayton. Consistently wonderful. I live Coco’s!
Perfect location for a birthday dinner! We enjoyed every sip and every bite! Thank you!
The warm welcome by owner, lovely atmosphere and delicious food makes lunch there a MUST!
Food was good, but my $38 filet was about 4 ounces. I’ve had better quality steaks for a cheaper price. Ordered the fried brie to start and it was very good, but could have been better. The brie wasn’t as runny and creamy as it should have been. House Manhattan was excellent.
Celebrated 35th wedding anniversary. Waiter was attentive and provided champagne and crème brulee to help us celebrate.
It's my go-to for out of town guests.
Great restaurant, great service. Server was very helpful. Will go back
Great waiter/host food always consistent and great atmosphere
Our dinner was fantastic! Food was a little slow in coming due to a party in their private room. The quality of the food surpassed out expectations. Don't miss the fried olive and fried brie appetizers!
A special and unexpected experience - one of a kind.
The best grilled cheese and tomato soup in town!
Coco's fits our lifestyle very well. Not too noisy, great for work lunch/dinners, easy to get to, and seasoned staff. Overall: excellent experience!
Went on Easter: Waiter got the order wrong so the entire table was eating except one person, wait staff are dressed like they are off the street with worn dirty jeans and a crappy shirt, did not realize they were an employees until my order was taken. An older man who talked to other employees and cleaned tables wore a translucent white shirt that was 2 sizes too small, disgusting. Noise level extremely high, hard to have a conversation. Floor is nice looking except for the big chunks throughout, tacky. My potatoes with dish were dried out little disks.
Went for Easter brunch with a party of 7. Everything was good until I got in the car and asked my husband how much the bill was for the 7 of us. He was actually surprised and brought the receipt (which we both never do) so I could take a look at it. I was always under the impression that gratuity was added to parties of 8 or more. We were not told and he was unaware that a tip had already been added in. The waiter ended up with at least a 50% tip. Also, we were charged more than what was stated on the kids menu by $5. The food was good but not for the price we ended up paying. My husbands not one to complain so, I’ll just have to eat this one.
Disappointed for first time visit. Was really hoping it would be a place to add to our eating rotation. That won’t be happening anytime soon. Not crowded but food was slow. Potatoes on our dish was not completely cooking and were hard and cold. The frittata was not a frittata as listed on the menu but an omelet.
They are too small to book for Easter brunch. Service was horrible. Had to ask for salt and pepper, 3 people ordered waffles, had to ask for surup and butter. the butter came in liquified form. had to track down another waiter to get coffee refills, Then after receiving our bill waited over 15 minutes for someone to take our money.
This is a great place to go after work to eat and drink , but not for holidays
This is my favorite restaurant for a great lunch for business or spending time with friends to celebrate a special occasion. I have had lunch at Coco's for at least 20 years and enjoy it every time.
The Moody Blue pizza is to DIE for!! Liked everything we ordered and the server was outstanding. As were the cocktails. Pleasant surprise in Dayton!
I made a mistake on my reservation and made it for two when I actually had a party of seven. Every place in Downtown Dayton was packed, but the restaurant was able to accommodate us if we wanted to sit on the patio. It was a great evening and the patio worked nicely for our needs. The service was excellent considering the number of patrons at the restaurant, the ambience was perfect, and the food was great! Thanks, Coco’s for making our girls night out so special!
Always a great experience !!
The server/waiter took the time to customize my entrée because of it being Lenten season
and I really appreciated that!
Food was OUTSTANDING. Very pricey but you get what you pay for. You can't go wrong with the best filet I've ever had! Highly recommended for a special occasion. Inviting atmosphere and comfortable to spend the evening relaxing. Don't be in a hurry here. The wine was delicious and be sure to try the flaky apple tart for dessert.
Our server recommended the BBQ chop for me and I couldn't have chosen better for myself. Outstanding start with the baked brie and the entrees (including my chop) were outstanding. Always a great meal and date night at Coco's.
Can always count on a relaxing , high quality dinner and service at Coco’s.
I found the ambiance pleasant, our waiter was very attentive everything looked clean. My dish lacked a little, I had the filet mignon , it was dry, cold and lacked any kind of flavor (the sides were fine). I would not order this again.
Ordered the fish, it was sole. It was supposed to have a browned butter with an herb over top.
It did not.
We didn't realize it was missing until halfway thru the meal. The fish was very thin and cornmeal crusted. It was good but begging for moisture.
We felt like with half of the sole gone, we couldn't complain.
It was a busy night for Cocos and I am sure our plates just got overlooked.
Great as always. Can’t wait for the new menu to come out!
I went in on a Wednesday evening for a work dinner. We had a drink at the bar then we were seated. The entire experience was very nice. The service, food and vibe of the place were great.
While we love the Bistro Burger this time it was dry and too small for the big bun it was on. The service was sub par. Had to ask for refills on our drinks more than once. Seems like that past two times we have been it has not been the same.
