Coco's Bistro Ratings and Reviews
It was a wonderful dinner, wonderful atmosphere, and wonderful event to be celebrated. Food came out timed perfectly, the waiter was careful not to interrupt our conversation, the desserts were fabulous, and the wine was perfect. A wonderful place for a wonderful event.
My Airline Chicken as over cooked and was not tasty, however, my dining date enjoyed her dinner. Chicken is easy to prepare so when it comes out like mine, their staff is not top notch. Sort of pricey for one side of a chicken breast over corn and lima type beans.
Wonderful place a little off the campus of U. of Dayton. My daughter and I went; loved the décor. Very friendly servers and bar tenders. Great martini and wonderful food. Had some different things on the menu with a good selection. Enough to choose from but not so much that you know the kitchen was cooking what was sourced and fresh. Highly recommend this college town gem.
Pleasant meal and surroundings; plenty of convenient parking. We were pleased we went there for lunch. Foolishly, I left with both copies of the credit card receipt, but the server rang me shortly thereafter and (since I was driving and couldn't instantly view the bill) helped to guide me recall the amount so I could arrange an appropriate gratuity. Nice place with friendly people.
Coco's has been, and continues to be, one of my favorite restaurants in Dayton. The bartenders have excellent knowledge of just about any kind of drink you can think of. It's one of my favorite places to have drinks before dinner or just to stop by and have something different when I am in the mood for something more than a beer. The food is AWESOME. I can honestly say I have not had a bad meal there. From appetizers to salads to the entrée and finishing it off with a dessert I've love everything I have tried there. The service is excellent too. If you haven't been to Coco's you are missing out.
Went for restaurant week. Have been before and always have been impressed. This time less so. I had the brisket and while the taste was good and the grits were wonderful, the cut of meat was unusually fatty. Probably lost 30% to fat. Unfortunate because everything else was lovely.
All of the friends had been to the restaurant before and enjoyed the food but it was just so-so this time. The food was not great, even the appetizers were just ok. I had a chicken Caesar salad that tasted bland. Flies kept buzzing around inside which we mentioned to the waiter who was good.He said they were working on it. I hope my next dining experience is better. I would have liked to see some of your specialty lunch items on the dinner menu.
Didn't make it pass the initial glass of water. The waiter was nice, but hostess was not. We requested a table in the back and he said someone else had requested it. The group sat down in the table in the corner, not the one we had requested. It was busy and noise where we were sitting, so we left and went to the Wheat Penny, who treated us superbly!!
This was our 39th wedding anniversary celebration - the best since our 25th celebration in Hawaii. Michael greeted and seated us with special serving instructions to Jess. Jess was a very engaging lady with a cheerful and professional attitude. She made the entire dinning experience a treasure to be remembered. We had the special (lobster cake) which was truly a preparation worthy of a big thank you to the chef.
The patio was fabulous! In the recent heat it was pleasantly cool because of the fans and being located on the south side of the building, away from the evening sun. The food was spectacular and definitely worth the price. The salad was expertly dressed and the flavors blended very well. The ahi tuna was perfectly done and the accompanying noodles were not too mushy and expertly seasoned. The Beignets for dessert were delightful.
I brought a business colleague to Cocos for lunch and requested a "quiet table" when I initially made my reservation. When we arrived we were led to a table in the middle of the dining room. I again requested a quiet area and we were then seated in the bar area which was much quieter.
I ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Presentation was pleasing ; the soup was tasty but warm not hot; same for sandwich.
Waitress did not return to ask about our meals til much later. She was very pleasant but very busy!
I hadn't been to Coco's since they moved, and was eager to go. Overall a very nice evening - although the waiter seemed stressed, having to attend to our area as well as the patio, which was not close by.
Waiter was very good (Steven?) and as attentive as possible given the above. I was served a glass of wine which had a LOT of sediment in it. Steven gave me a second glass on the house. I appreciated that. He was also very knowledgeable and gave us recommendations for his favorite dishes.
I appreciated being able to make reservations through Open Table!
