The menu at Coconut Lagoon features an array of vegan, vegetarian and classic dishes along with some unique twists and blends. There are three onion fritters to start, fresh soups made each day, crispy lentil doughnuts and more. Main dishes include thali dishes, specialties like uthappam and sides that ensure any meal at Coconut Lagoon is satisfying and unique.
1irst time for Indian food. It was a terrific experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was a bit slow but that might have been due to the number of guests. We will do it again.
Went with a friend who chose the dishes we ate. Food was delicious and delivered in a timely fashion. Our waiter was very attentive despite the restaurant being very busy. A very enjoyable meal.
Food , service and presentation were perfect, only complaint would be portion size compared to price. I dont mind paying for good food, but 4 dishes, with rice, one piece of naan and non alcoholic beverage was around $100, only enough for 2 adults with small amount of left overs
Delicious! And there are several vegan choices! Will be back for sure.
Outstanding South Indian food. Excellent service. Very nice ambiance. Thank you
We've been here once before, the food was delicious and the service was very adequate. Not such a great experience the second time around. We were nicely greeted and seated but it kind of stoped there. We went ahead with all the Maitre d'hote recommendations. There were no food checks-what so ever throught the night. We had to wave down a commis to exchange our naan breads that were totally raw. We were brought two more naan fully cooked. The lamb dish orderded had a crust on top of the sauce, it was clearly sitting in the kitchen for a while, we received it barely warm, we didn't eat it! After we had expressed our sentiments towards the bread and the lamb, our server gave us sincere apologies. The Maitre d'hote only came back to see us after we had paid (even paid for the returned lamb and bread!) and admited that yeah, maybe it has been sitting there for a while before sending it out of the kitchen, that's how it is. I recommend their black chick pea salad if you are on a bad date, there was at least one full large onion in a small bowl. But seriously, the shrimp appetizer is amazing!
Always loved coming here. The food is very very good, especially the thali. Eve nicer since they redid the decor.
The food was delicious, wonderful variety, and everything I tried was very good. I love Indian food, and the spice level was very comfortable for all. The 🌶 was also indicated so if you are sensitive to that, you have lots of choices to satisfy your taste.
We were there for lunch on a Tuesday and it was packed. Parking was an issue, but a walk was good for us. The tables are close together and the noise level was high, but you soon adapt. It really wasn’t a problem.
I had heard wonderful things about it so couldn’t wait to try it. I wasn’t disappointed.
I look forward to a return visit, and I would highly recommend Coconut Lagoon. You’re in for a real treat.
first time at coconut lagoon in years and i loved the buffet food very much. well prepared, good variety and flavourful
Waiter is always good to provide suggestions... like that!
Asked for suggestions and were recommend several excellent dishes
Excellent and my friends were impressed as they had never been and are frequent restaurant visitors to the high enders. Just ensure you make a reservation as the place is always packed.
I am always surprised that the buffet lunch is always hot and fresh, first plate or second.
Well deserving of the many awards you have won.
A very nice place with outstanding service and food. The staff are very attentive to the customer's needs. The food was outstanding with a lot of vegetarian and sea food options.
Lovely delicious food. Cozy atmosphere. Attentive and helpful service.
I have been to the Coconut Lagoon a number of times and this time it was excellent, as usual!
Dinner was delicious but overpriced. Main courses do not come with rice or naan, which costs extra. I would only go for the buffet lunch.
Excellent quality of food and service. We were at the back this time which I liked away from the door. There's not much ambience (ex. music) however but there was lots of speedy service and the mango lassi was to die for. Great food as always!
Coconut Lagoon never disappoints, as good as alwayss
Food is amazing! Location is very crowded (a good sign), very noisy. Tables are way too tight. Serving table in a narrow busy area off the kitchen and where people are passing to get to tables at the back. Little signs indicating level of spiciness would be appreciated. Will return as the food is simply divine.
We have been to the Coconut Lagoon many times over the years and Joe and his staff always deliver a most excellent authentic food experience. Simply the best Indian food around!
Excellent meal and service
Delicious food. Beautiful atmosphere. Perfect for a date night
On other occasions I have loved this restaurant, five stars overall. But this time it was a lunch buffet and all my ratings have gone down as a result. I still recommend it highly for non-buffet day’s.
This was an amazing culinary experience - I have already recommended it to family and friends. For sure we will be back !
Truly authentic cuisine (primarily) from the South-West coast of India!
I have been to Coconut lagoon on several occasions and never been disappointed. The quality of the service and food is exceptional.
Great meal, at a reasonable price. We will certainly come back. The absence of music was also appreciated.

In my experience this is the best Indian restaurant since the now defunct Babur restaurant in Toronto.
New York City eat your heart out.
The food is excellent, very tasty. The service is very friendly and the servers make very good recommendations. Extremelly satisfied and we often recommend to friends and they are always very happy.
Best Indian food in Ottawa. Our favourite go to place.
Simply best indian food in the area! Highly recommended.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and clean. Staff was attentive. Would recommend to everyone.
Yes, but based on the food only. The food was very good.
I was having dinner with a friend I have not seen in 6 months. We wanted to chat and get caught up and we kept getting interrupter by the many, and I mean many servers. Our bill came just after I received my Chai Tea. I really felt rushed. Not the right ambiance for me.
All the different dishes were fresh and the spice was on the spot.
Flavors were extremely good. Delicate and aromatic. Samosas were so different then what we are used too.
All the food was fantastic, and they even surprised us with a dessert for our anniversary which was a nice touch.
Service was good, prompt and the right amount of checking in throughout the meal.
Only "complaint" would be that the tables are a bit close together so it was difficult to have our own conversation due to people around us/noise level.
Great food. I like it much better than East Indian. The lunch buffet is fabulous!
I always recommend and bring with me a group of friends! Coconut is part of my life in Ottawa.
I love this restaurant, the waiters are all nice and the food is impeccable
The food and service are always excellent. Many vegan options and identified on menu.
