Coco Pazzo Ratings and Reviews
Not just another Italian restaurant. The service and atmosphere was very nice, but the star is the food. The rigatoni with ground sausage was the BEST I have ever had. The flavors were rich and intense without being over spiced. The pasta was cooked perfectly. Can't say enough about the quality of the food.
Our food was wonderful, but service was disappointing. We arrived ten minutes early, but were asked to either go to the bar (too crowded) or wait on a bench. Many others entered after us and were seated at their tables right away. Five minutes after our reservation, we were seated at a table that was open when we first arrived. Many other tables were also open when we arrived and were still open when we were seated. Our waitress completely forgot two drink orders at the table. We can find good food anywhere, but when we are ignored by the staff we never return.
We loved it.
Havent been in a long time.
Recently we went to the Cafe and it too was delightful.
We had friends from NYC in and decided to try the original
It did not disappoint. The food was great
and the service was better
Sergio hovered over us and made the night for us.
What a wonderful man, and a good artist as well
Will definitely be back
The ambiance was great for conversation and we talked and talked
with our friends. We closed the place
Still one of the finest Italian dining experiences in Chicago! Great authentic upscale Italian dining, with excellent service to match! Comfortable and warm atmosphere. Outstanding selection of fine Italian wines. Tables are spaced nicely for good conversation as well.
Love this place!
Had a very good meal this week. Really appreciated the wait staff pitching in to help one another out as the evening rush seemed to overwhelm our waiter, but it worked out well. The sea bass is awesome and expertly plated table side. Will definitely keep this restaurant on our list to re-visit when back in Chicago.
The service was amazing and our food was delicious. We had the beet salad, eggplant parmesan and pumpkin ravioli. Each dish was perfect and the service was impeccable. Very pleased. It was my birthday and they brought out a piece of tiramisu which was the perfect end to the meal.
This was recommended by a Chicagoan as their favorite neighborhood restaurant. We understand why. We enjoyed it all- From the cozy wood trimmed-velvet curtain decor to great conversation with Brittany at the bar. The food was very good and service highly professional. We will be back!
Coco Pazzo is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Chicago - it is a bit expensive, it is fine dining, but really worth it for a special night out.
Lunch is also a good option. It is a beautiful restaurant and the staff is friendly and competent.
If you can, sit by the window, its perfection!!
A favorite for us anytime in Chicago. Dinner midweek was relatively busy, but Hanna, our server was very attentive and a wonderful personality. A house Chianti was more than satisfying as were two different salads to start.. The entrees were good, but not quite to the standards we look for here...my pasta a bit over cooked. Wonderful dessert menu...we shared a chocolate cake that was terrific. Love this place for being able to have a comfortable conversation. Will return!!
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner. He started with the Pate' which he loved. I had their pear and blue cheese salad which was also delicious. My fish, the striped sea bass, with fresh vegetables was great - and he thoroughly enjoyed the breaded pork. We closed with the Panne Cotta, perfectly done with huckleberry sauce. Service was attentive and easy. Everything was fresh. Not overly sauced. We will return.
We have dined here several times and loved it. Appetizers were outstanding as were desserts. My veal chop was perfect but my wife’s quite dry and over cooked. Ownership comped her $35 veal chop and both desserts. We will certainly return, but we were partially very disappointed.
Lovely food and excellent atmosphere. Our waiter was having a hard time keeping up. He might have been training other people but he forgot things and took a long time to come back with the bill. This is my second time at Coco Pazzo. I will go back. The food is delicious and so well done.
Our server was great and everything was really good until it came time to get the bill squared away. We were treating a friend for her birthday and there were four of us and we were splitting the bill three ways. Our server must have been done as he disappeared and some gentleman came over to run our credit card and he messed it up and he charged two of us for the whole bill and then tried to cancel that so then he could charge three of Us instead and proceeded to talk about the amounts out loud in front of our friend who we were treating for her birthday which while he was clueless about was insensitive and candidly in really bad form. Cast a pall on an otherwise very nice evening. He was really awkward and in appropriate
3 women getting together for dinner and drinks. Service was awful. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was warm. We commented to the waiter, Nico, and brought a cup of ice to put in our glasses. He continued to be condescending and ignored us. Never mentioned the specials or desserts. Just placed menu on the table without saying anything. I don't believe men would be treated this way. We will not be going back.
I've eaten at Coco Pazzo twice and the experiences were very similar.....Great food with so/so service. The food alone is worth the inconsistent service. We ordered the veal scaloppini and beef rigatoni. Each was fantastic pared with a great cabernet. Will be back but will definitely adjust my expectations.
