Wonderful food, service and ambiance. We will be back.
All was great here. Only issue was that the cabernet bottle that we ordered stated on the menu that it was 2013 but when it came out it was a 2015 bottle. It tasted fine but menu may need to be adjusted.
I hadn't been to Coco Pazzo in years but a friend staying at Mart Plaza asked what's a great spot to meet and we met here. She's married to an Italian and was blown away by the food. We found a wine we liked, unfortunately it was really expensive so we ended up spending a lot on our meal and wine, more than we wanted to. That said, the food was great. Rigatoni with fennel sausage is to die for. My lamb shank with polenta was perfection. A side of steamed spinach and that's an incredible meal. Highly recommended even though our server got very busy with a late night crowd. We didn't mind because we got to sit and chat at length in a wonderfully charming space.
Delightful setting with terrific food.
Consistently some of the best Italian food in the City. Everything on the menu worth a try and always excellent specials.
Coco Pazzo is delicious! My picky daughter agrees as well! We had the gnochetti and the ravioli along with a salad. Perfect!
My wife and I got a last-minute reservation to have dinner before a concert at the United Center. We were able to split an entree, and get in and out in 45-minutes. I really wanted to have dessert, but we didn't have time. I'm looking forward to going back.
Just always great quality cuisine, wonderful specials and professional, cheery service.
Birthday for my mom. Very good experience.
Good food, nice atmosphere, our waitress was not extremely friendly or helpful. But overall experience was good.
Birthday for my wife
This is absolutely one of my favorite Chicago restaurants; consistently great food with interesting menu items and exceptional service! The wine list is fabulous!
We were returning diners to Coco Pazzo, we usually love it.
I’m convinced you cannot get better, more attentive service anywhere.
This dinner was such a disappointment.
The Friday menu had only sea bass as the fish selection (during Lent).
The vegetarian lasagna was well presented but bland to a fault.
The meat ravioli portion was so small we had to order a second portion for our guest....and were charged the full price.
We were entertaining out of town guests.....and were very embarrassed.
I know what Coco Pazzo is capable of, and this dinner didn’t even come close.
I hadn't been to Coc Pazzo in a while and it was just as good as I remembered it. My son and husband had pasta dishes; I had veal. All were very good.
A delightful meal at Coco Pazzo started with tantalizing smoked salmon carpaccio and the best grilled octopus I have ever had. Our table wanted to try many dishes and we shared an authentic Tuscan risotto, house made pasta with fresh tuna and fresh vegetables and a delicious baked eggplant. We finished with lamb shank and a perfectly cooked bistek fiorentina- carved table side! Service was impeccable as always- and lovely wines that matched perfectly. A Chicago gem- classic, delicious pure Italian food in an elegant room. Outstanding staff!
Great food. We shared three courses then had our own desserts. Their version of a cassata was a great ending to a memorable meal.
Four of us for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Each entrée was delicious. Excellent service.
Been a few years since we were here, came back and we were not disappointed. The food was great and presentation was very nice. The only thing the service could have been better. We went on a Sunday a little after they opened for and empty place at that time the service was lacking .Had to ask for water a few times and the waiter came and vanished for a while . But i wouldn't let that stop you from going. I would still go back people can have off days.
I dined at Coco Pazzo on the very first day they opened back in 1992. After many years of dining at the eatery, I returned for the first time in 18 years. There is a reason why this place survives and thrives even with all the competition that has opened in the immediate area - the food is fantastic.
The ambiance is great. Loft setting, kinda noisy. But it is all about the food. One of the best things is they offer appetizer size portions of all their pasta dishes. This means you can easily do Primi and Secondi courses without feeling like a beached whale. All dishes are prepared to order, expertly and with passion.
All the new trendy spots in River North are great. But if you absolutely, positively have to have a great delicious meal, then Coco Pazzo is the place to go.
We had an 8pm reservation through Open Table and we were not seated until 9:10pm. For the first 45 minutes the host(s) were smug and not concerned at all that we were inconvenienced. When they realized we would have to wait longer, they offered us an inexpensive glass of Prosecco and pushed us to the cramped bar to get us out of the entry way. After we were seated, our first waiter wasn't helpful, but when the shift changed, the second waiter (Wayne) was awesome, and save what was left of the evening. The food was delicious, as it always is. But how the handled the front of the house on this night was inexcusable.
Kept us waiting an hour for a table and another 15 minutes for a waiter. Wine more like vinegar. 2 good starters, the rest of the food was over salted. Coco Pazzo used to be our first choice for a special night but never again
As always the pasta was amazing and the atmosphere alive. Thank you Coco Pazzo for a great evening.
In town for convention and decided to go back because of a wonderful meal we had 2 years when we were in town. Unfortunately can't say the same this time around although I would come back but only after looking at other options. Main complaint is the time it took to receive our entrees. Over 45 min from the time we ordered entrees. Then only one of the 3 entrees was brought out followed by another 10 minutes before the second entree was brought followed by another 5 minutes when the final dish was brought out. 2nd and 3rd dishes were slightly warm so I'm guessing they were sitting around before being served although we were told kitchen was backed up. After expressing it was not ok with what occurred the manager came over to apologize and offered desserts and after dinner drinks which was appreciated.
Excellent in every way as usual.
A good recommendstion for a nicer dinner at a reasonable price. Wil thsnk the friends who sent us to you and will look forward to a return trip in next Chicago trip. Loved how easy it was to make a reservation.
This restaurant has been serving fantastic food in a warm atmosphere for years. It’s current and it’s really good. Every time.
The food was mediocre, at best. Very bland and overpriced, both meals lacked flavor and were no better than major Italian chain restaurants. If this is the best Chicago offers in the way of authentic Italian cuisine, it doesn't live up to the hype. Very disappointing.
Amazing and authentic. Took us back to Tuscany. Will visit again.
Great food, service is okay. Our waiter was nice, but not really on top of things. Loved the sea bass, rigatoni and gelato. They screwed up our bill, originally brought us someone else's, then again when we paid they had brought us another table's. They called to collect the difference, I understand they need to make money, but they should have comped one of the desserts or a glass of wine.
This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. The food was excellent, great staff and good wine. A great local restaurant. Highly recommend.
Coco Pazzo never disappoints. I have been dining here both with clients and close friends for years; and the food just gets better and better. The staff is outstanding and the ambience is superb. It's great for a discreet business lunch or a celebratory dinner with foodies and close friends.
Happy Choice for Valentine's Day. We enjoyed a delicious Meal w/wine assist from Somelier.
All 4 of us were pleased w/our Appetizer, Entre and Dessert. Service was Exceptional !
We are pleased to have a Restaurant of this Quality in our neighborhood.
Reservations were easy to get through 'Open Table'.
Enjoyed every course for a Valentine's dinner. Very much appreciated that there was not a pre-fixe menu and that they offered a few items compliments of the chef.
In Chicago for convention. Lucky enough to have this restaurant recommended. Friendly and attentive service. Amazing pasta dish and interesting, reasonably priced menu. Quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Will return if in Chicago again.
CoCo Pazzo is my favorite Chicago restaurant. It has a classic “big city” ambience and reliably wonderful food. I have been a regular customer for 20 years and have sampled a variety of dishes from the fresh pastas to the wonderful meat and fish entrees . Coco Pazzo is my go to place for any celebration or any time I want a special meal.
Excellent. Food was delicious. Service was great. I’d recommend it to everyone.
It took forever to get our waiter to come to us. Drinks took forever and food came late. Overall the night took an hour longer than it should have and our plates were empty and our cups were dry for way too long.
This is a wonderful, old-school type, restaurant. We were here for our anniversary (and post-Hamilton) dinner. The octopus appetizer is delicious. Nice house salad. I had a special, house made cavatappi with clams and hub had the short ribs with polenta. They were both fantastic. The pecan pie dessert was good, but not really my thing. Great wine list. Our only complaint was the initial timing of our food was too fast. We would have liked to have enjoyed our cocktails and app a little more leisurely. But, it’s a great place.
