The food was mediocre, at best. Very bland and overpriced, both meals lacked flavor and were no better than major Italian chain restaurants. If this is the best Chicago offers in the way of authentic Italian cuisine, it doesn't live up to the hype. Very disappointing.
Amazing and authentic. Took us back to Tuscany. Will visit again.
Great food, service is okay. Our waiter was nice, but not really on top of things. Loved the sea bass, rigatoni and gelato. They screwed up our bill, originally brought us someone else's, then again when we paid they had brought us another table's. They called to collect the difference, I understand they need to make money, but they should have comped one of the desserts or a glass of wine.
This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. The food was excellent, great staff and good wine. A great local restaurant. Highly recommend.
Coco Pazzo never disappoints. I have been dining here both with clients and close friends for years; and the food just gets better and better. The staff is outstanding and the ambience is superb. It's great for a discreet business lunch or a celebratory dinner with foodies and close friends.
Enjoyed every course for a Valentine's dinner. Very much appreciated that there was not a pre-fixe menu and that they offered a few items compliments of the chef.
In Chicago for convention. Lucky enough to have this restaurant recommended. Friendly and attentive service. Amazing pasta dish and interesting, reasonably priced menu. Quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Will return if in Chicago again.
CoCo Pazzo is my favorite Chicago restaurant. It has a classic “big city” ambience and reliably wonderful food. I have been a regular customer for 20 years and have sampled a variety of dishes from the fresh pastas to the wonderful meat and fish entrees . Coco Pazzo is my go to place for any celebration or any time I want a special meal.
Excellent. Food was delicious. Service was great. I’d recommend it to everyone.
It took forever to get our waiter to come to us. Drinks took forever and food came late. Overall the night took an hour longer than it should have and our plates were empty and our cups were dry for way too long.
This is a wonderful, old-school type, restaurant. We were here for our anniversary (and post-Hamilton) dinner. The octopus appetizer is delicious. Nice house salad. I had a special, house made cavatappi with clams and hub had the short ribs with polenta. They were both fantastic. The pecan pie dessert was good, but not really my thing. Great wine list. Our only complaint was the initial timing of our food was too fast. We would have liked to have enjoyed our cocktails and app a little more leisurely. But, it’s a great place.
We were at Coco Pazzo for an early pre Opera dinner and the food was lovely. Service was very friendly and attentive. They totally understood we didn’t have much time and did everything to speed things up. Would definitely go again.
We dine at Coco Pazzo at least a couple times per year before the opera. We also take business clients here. Even those who have Italian heritage say it is some of the best, most authentic food, they have ever had at a restaurant. It truly is one of our favorite places to dine in Chicago.
We went for Restaurant Week. We love this restaurant the rest of the year, too.
It was restaurant week. The staff was delightful. The food was delicious. Great dining experience.
Coco Pazzo is my go to place for a business lunch or dinner. The noise level is very manageable and the food and service are fantastic! Everyone loved it
We really enjoyed our meal during restaurant week at Coco Pazzo. I had the short ribs and my friends had the cod. The soups and salads were really good as was the dessert. I had the panna cotta and my husband loved the flourless chocolate cake. All was very good and the service was great!
Everything was absolutely excellent.
The restaurant felt cold, no ambiance music, felt like a library not a good vibe for a Saturday night for friends to gather who hadn't seen each other in months. Picked it from the Restaurant Week recommendation. We left as the salad was bland, took a while to get drinks. ...we went to another restaurant. The staff was great!
We took a business associate here who was visiting for a few days and the service and fare couldn’t have been better. The chef came to our table and explained a few of the dishes we were interested in and made recommendations of his own and informed us of the various locations of Italy where some ingredients came from. The management and service staff made sure we were always taken care of and had everything we needed. The food was extremely good with obvious authenticity. The pasta was cooked perfect al dente. Great experience!
Easy, decent service
Amazing food and service. Beautiful room. A wonderful experience, every visit.
Enjoyed the entire experience.
Nice place for a business lunch as the tables are not on top of each other. Food was standard fare but tasty with timely food service. This place is a pro for getting the business crowd in and out and well fed.
Beautiful decor and dining area with top-notch customer service from the front of the house to the servers. The food was excellent and thoughtfully prepared. Highlights included creamy, delicious polenta, fresh, flavorful cod, perfectly prepared, flavorful braised short rib, and wonderful panna cotta. The wine list is expansive and they also make excellent cocktails. The chef here, Chef Commachio, is truly exceptional.
The restaurant is lovely and the service was fine - not great. Perhaps because it was packed as it was Restaurant Week. We had to wait for long between courses, the waiter brought me soup without a spoon, resulting in more wait. What was most disappointing, however, was our entrees (restaurant week menu picks). The cod was salty and the sauce with the beef short ribs was too thick and bland.
Given the reputation of this place we will go one more to try dishes on the regular memu but we were looking for a "wow" experience and came away underwhelmed.
Outstanding food and impeccable service!
This restaurant has no regard for food allergies. I not only told them when I made the reservation but mentioned it to the waiter right away. We waited 45 min for our food and when it came I was given food with the item I am allergic to, only for me to uncover it myself and send it back. Then had to wait another 20 more min to get a dish with no sauce or flavor. They didn’t care either and tried to hurry us up to get us out of the restaurant. Very disappointing.
Absolutely amazing! I will definitely go there again. We made a special request and they were more than willing to help us out.
Coco Pazzo is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. However i noticed that it has raised its prices significantly. Maybe they are in line with other top Italian restaurants but it seems overpriced now.
