Fantastic food! Very authentic Italian scratch kitchen. Really surprised me
New location on E. Ohio is perfect. Food is excellent and staff very friendly and attentive. The grilled octopus was perfectly prepared. The meatballs in sauce were delicious and the lasagna is probably the best in Chicago. Be sure to finish with their in house made Tartuffo, pistachio Gelato in a dark chocolate shell. Nothing like it in the city. We have been dining at Coco Pazzo Cafe for over 20 years and have never been disappointed.
The new location of this Streeterville favorite is just off Michigan Ave. and still worth a visit. There seemed to have been a problem with our Open Table reservation, but the manager was extremely polite and accommodated us nonetheless. We had the Roman style artichokes--very tasty and more flavorful than what we'd had in Rome. The mixed house salad was generous and could be a main dish for some guests. My spouse thought the pizza was very good, with a thin crust that had some body rather than a crunch (paper thin pizza crust) plus lots of ingredients. My seafood pasta was a welcome surprise. It was true Mediterranean style with al dente ink pasta. The sauce was delicate, buttery, and bread soaked up the last bits in the bowl. I was especially pleased that the server brought a second plate with a seafood fork and a spoon for the mussel shells. Wine and beer were reasonably priced. Although there were a few group tables nearby, we never felt ignored. Service was attentive without hovering. All in all, Coco Pazzo continues to provide a comfortable setting and good food.
excellent pasta cooked perfectly al dente and with so much flavor! i'm still thinking about that first bite of ravioli, carbonara, and spaghetti. can't wait to go back again soon!
Wait staff knowledgeable and delightful. Management attentive.
Always a delicious, good time.
At prime dinner hours, kinda noisy (energetic as you put it!).
Our rez was early, so not too bad. A prior dinner the week before
very noisy due to large festive group. All good though!
Good food, sadly the wonderful flavors disappear when all the chili flakes are added and it becomes just another spicy hot dish.
Our only comment is that for every day dining they should have a nice carafe wine option at a lower price point . Like $25-30.
We always dine at Coco Pazzo Cafe when in Chicago. Great appetizers and pasta dishes. The service is professional, timely and attentive. Excellent choice for a casual dinner!
This was my third time trying Coco Pazzo Café and each time it felt new and different, yet the same high quality food was there each time. The service is attentive and quite willing to explain the ingredients and the way the food is being cooked. The food is wonderfully authentic Italian, elegant and simple, full of amazing flavor. Coco Pazzo Cafe is now on my list as a must visit whenever I am in the Michigan Avenue/Ohio Street area. Great people, great food!
This is a very nice restaurant. We happened to come on a night that they had a very large party of extremely loud people. The restaurant chose not to put up any kind of screen and sat us in the same room. It wasn’t good. They also gave us a very small table in the draft from the door even though there were empty tables a bit larger and not by the draft. I hate that! Despite these issues the server was terrific and corrected the table size by adding another small table. The food is very good. Maybe it was an off night. We usually enjoy this place.
As always, the service and the food were both great. Even to the point of the staff attempting to teach Italian to our 8 and 6 year old.
Having eaten here previously, we knew we loved the food. 6 guests plus a baby so everyone had a variety of food selections. Sauces were amazing and ended with couple desserts that also did not disappoint.
Food was good. Service was ok. Atmosphere was nice
Excellent and attentive service. The food was also excellent.
Pretty disappointed in our evening at Coco Pazzo Cafe. We arrived a little early and appreciated that they sat us right away, but cold air from a ceiling vent meant a few of us ate with our coats on. Service was pretty average and a little grudging at times, and small things like being given one drink menu for a table of 5 just seemed silly. We would have flagged the waiter's attention to ask for more but didn't want to interrupt a good conversation or draw attention to the one indecisive member of our party, but then we weren't ready when he asked so perhaps that just got us off on the wrong foot. General consensus was the food was good but not great. I put special occasion on the reservation but that wasn't acknowledged, and as a bit of a splurge dinner for us it was not the level I had hoped for.
They are super accommodating. Nice place without being stuffy. Second time there and will for sure be back again.
This is our go to neighborhood restaurant! Quality and consistency are the 2 main reasons we keep going back. Even though it’s an authentic Italian restaurant, one can easily find low carb options such as fresh fish and salad.
The food was very good. we had a couple of apps to start out, the artichokes and an arrancini dish- both really good. We all had pasta which was amazing, fresh homemade pasta, definitely will come back next time we’re in Chicago.
Great food and atmosphere.
Nice staff. Decent food. Wine list just ok.
We randomly came across this gem while searching for a place to eat on yelp. Reservations were available and we booked it. Great find! Spaghetti AOP is one of the best pasta dishes ever! Great service. Good wine selection. Cute little establishment. Will return when back in Chicago.
I've been to this restaurant almost every time I visit Chicago and it never fails to please. The wait staff is attentive, the cuisine always perfect. The antipasto appetizer was perfect for two, nicely sliced and plated. I had the ravioli for the entrée and ate every bit of it-delicious! The by-the-glass wine pours are substantial so overall the dinner was terrific!
I still miss the old place on St. Clair. Bright lights at large glass windows, a stone wall and limited number of murals make this place less cozy. Food was good--Rigatoni--but I detected fewer "goodies" (meat) in the mix. It's probably a welcome addition to Streeterville, but, sorry to say, I won't be returning as frequently.
Coco Pazzo Cafe has been a favorite of mine for a few years. Prices are reasonable, and the food is always fantastic. I had the beet salad and pork this trip, and both were quite tasty. The best part of the meal is the thinly sliced and grilled bread in the bread basket. I could eat a whole basket of them, but then I wouldn't have any room for the rest of the meal. If you like beets, the beet salad is always tasty too.
Very nice ambiance and setting. Sat at the bar for my meal as I was eating alone. Bartender fixed me an excellent Manhattan. The carbonara waa fantastic and had just the right mix of bacon and cheese, at least for my taste. An after dinner drink and a quick chat with the bartender left me with a fantastic appreciation for this restaurant.
I was pleased, hadn't dined at CPC in quite a while. The food was good, as it always was, they make a terrific Linguine Alla Vongole (clam sauce). My guest liked her gnocchi. Courteous service is important to me, and servers and hosts were terrific. No complaints, can't wait to return and enjoy Coco Pazzo Café again.
Always pleased at Coco Pazzo Cafe!
After the eggplant appetizer I knew I was in the right place. I had the carbonara and my wife had the rigatoni and loved them both. I have a feeling no matter what you order it would be great. Ambiance, artwork and amazing staff all led to an experience we won't soon forget.
We live in Streeterville and this is our go to restaurant. I have my favorites but everything I’ve tried is delicious!
Always excellent! One of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago!
We had a delicious meal. Ever since Coco Pazzo Cafe moved to the new spot, the food has been great. I’m loving it again and will go back often. We had a salad and 2 pasta dishes. All were so good it would be hard to pick a favorite. Nice and lively or good for conversation too.
THE FOOD AT COCO PAZZO CAFE IS TOP NOTCH THE SERVICE IS WONDERFUL IT IS MY GO TO PLACE FOR WONDERFUL ITALIAN FOOD.
The server polite and attentive. The muscles appetizer was delicious and the entree portions were perfectly portioned. The desert was absolutely scrumptious. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will most definitely be back!
Everything was delicious. Outstanding gnocchi and pulled beef ragu. Will definitely be back!
I eat here often and love it. Went for Valentine's Day with my husband. We both had the scallops which were meaty and delicious. The service is always very attentive. Great wine selection. Panna Cotta for dessert is yummy and not so rich you feel over full after dinner.
This is a favorite in Chicago. Wonderful homemade pasta, great service and hospitality. One of our must-dos when we are in town!
My spouse is from Italy and has been in Chicago for 1 1/2 years and says this is authentic Italian from the supli to the pastas! I have know this for years! Delicious! One if the best Italian restaurants in Chicago.
Wonderful ambiance, service and food. Perfect dining experience
I found this place on Open Table. The distance from the Art Museum & it's ratings, along with my husband wanting Italian, made our decision. Since it's Chicago restaurants week, I ordered the special menu which consisted of 3 courses = $33. I opted for the Baked Eggplant Parmesan, which I must say was excellent! It was a large portion, considering it was an appetizer. My husband, who doesn't care for eggplant, even thought it was good! He go the Cesare (their spelling) salad for an opener. It had "just enough" dressing that tasted homemade. It was delicious! For entrees, I chose the SPAGHETTI ‘AOP - Tomato, Garlic, Olive Oil, Spicy Red Chili Pepper. It was spicy, but just what I was hoping for. Excellent! My husband opted for the PAPPARDELLE - House Made Pasta, Wild Boar Ragù, which he liked very much! Both pastas came out al dente. My meal included a dessert of which we chose the tiramisu. That was a disappointment. It had an extra squishy base and not enough sweetness to it. We don't like super sweet things, but this really was not sweet enough, in our opinion. One of the owners approached us upon leaving and apologized and asked the problem. We honestly told him. He was super apologetic and very concerned with our being satisfied. We told him overall, it was excellent. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere enjoyable. My husband did note that a quite music in the background would've been, also, enjoyable.
We will definitely recommend and return. Thank you!!
One of my all time favorite restaurants in the city. However I miss the more cozy atmosphere and neighborhood feel of the last location. Now on a busy thoroughfare without a quaint outdoor seating area. Great Italian authentic fare - meal has always been delightful.
