The salmon dish was excellent - one of the best in the Chicago area.
We had requested a round table when making the reservation, and Coco Pazzo accommodated the request.
We were not rushed through our meal or after-dinner conversation.

Our first visit to the new location....Much of the old decor transferred, but now a more contemporary vibe. The food remains outstanding and the waiter was personable and helpful. We appreciated the broad choices of wine by the glass. The only negative was the bus staff , placing used appetizer silverware back on the table, and (uncharacteristic for a European style restaurant) clearing the table while I was still eating. I found myself finishing supper on an empty table where not only my companions's place had been wiped clean but the bread plate, oil, and even my shell bowl had been whisked away.

Happy to find the new location for a restaurant I used to think of as classic Italian, I booked a table for me and an old friend who was visiting. Nice choices of wines by the glass and great bread on the table. Kale salad was good (you could go easier on blue cheese). But the pastas were dreadful because their "al dente" was extreme. I have lived in Italy, so I know what al dente means. I ate just last week at Vinci, and their pappardelle were done perfectly. Many restaurants get it right. Not here. The squid ink pasta was so hard it was inedible. They offered to remake it, but we declined as we'd eaten all the seafood out of the dish. The pappardelle we had them remake a small portion and it was still quite toothsome. That is so sad. But alas there are many other Italian places in town. Please chefs, taste your food!

Been here many times over the last two years and always found the meals good. Disappointed in the quality of the food this time. The pasta seemed mushy and the ingredients of a lower quality than in the past. Will try again to see if this is just an off day.

This was dinner with a friend I had not seen for a long time. We were having a leisurely dinner when our waiter suddenly started asking us if we were through with our dinner (we weren't) multiple times. When we ordered dessert and beverages, they arrived in record time along with the check. 15 minutes later the owner informed us he needed our table for a large party. He said he had another table for us but in fact there was nothing available. We spent 90 minutes in the restaurant which is certainly not a long time for dinner. When we pointed out there was no table he said one would open up for us. They practically moved the table before we stood up. We will not be returning.

For casual, yet excellent, Italian dining, Coco Pazzo Cafe can’t be beat. Whether you want pizza or pasta or a full meal, there are several, all delicious, choices in a laid-back atmosphere. One of our Chicago favorites.

We had a great all around meal. Luis was our server, service was collaborative. The team ensured all was great and timely. Honey Ricotta Bruschetta was the perfect pre meal bite for 4. Beet salad unique and one the top I've ever had. Rigatoni Buttera was so very yummy! Portions are nice sized.

Very high quality pasta dishes, and even the bread they brought us was also outstanding. My kids also really liked it.

I had pasta with seafood. The dish was much too salty, so salty that it was unpleasant to eat. I am not on a salt-restricted diet but many diners are. The restaurant should put less salt in their food and have salt available on tables for diners who would like more.

Whitefish presentation needs some work, but fish was tasty, just a bit dry. And Caesar salad was tasteless, the cheese cracker being the only scrumptious bit of the entire meal.

An off day, as I've had wonderful means since they opened at this location. Disappointing tho.

The food was good but could be improved. The calamari fritti was tasty but a bit chewy and the spaghetti carbonara had a bit of a bitter taste. The service was very attentive. I have had better meals at this restaurant.

From beginning to end, our dinner was delicious and our waiter outstanding. The Roman style artichoke was perfectly prepared and I loved the hint of mint oil-an unexpectedly imaginative compliment to the artichoke. We loved our pasta dishes: papparadella with boar and rigatoni with a perfect tomato cream sauce. Our waiter's wine recommendation was a perfect compliment to our dinner. We were visiting from out of town, but if we lived in the neighborhood we'd be regulars.

Eventhough we had a lil mix up on which Coco Pazzo we were meeting, the menu and delicious food and cocktails swiftly melted any time spent on wondering where the other party was located. I had the soup of the day which was absolutely scrumptious white bean soup. My entree was the equally mouth watering mushroom stuffed ravioli. My dinner mates had the veal and white fish of the day. All I can say is that everyone's plate was clean by the end of the meal. I had two ravioli's I just couldn't devour because of the wonderful bread crisps I ate before the entree arrived. I totally enjoyed the remains for my lunch the following day. If you are looking for a GREAT meal for a decent price...this is the spot. It will be a staple in your dining rotation for any occasion.

The new dining room seems noisier than the previous location on St.Clair and the outdoor seating is not as appealing. The menu includes many familiar favorites but they are presented differently. The waiters are professional and the service is attentive but freshly ground pepper was not offered as it had been in the past. Maybe we're over that theatrical flourish?
The bread basket is delicious, particularly the thin, crisp wisps of toasted bread that have been brushed with just a hint of oil and cheese.

The restaurant has moved from its long-time previous location - and it's an improvement. More spacious and elegant with great views of the street for people watching. The food is still authentic, exquisite, fresh Italian and the service has kicked up a few notches. Linguine alle vongole (with clam sauce) offers a sauce that's rich, buttery yet not heavy, spiked with delicious small clams in the shell. Ravioli with mushrooms and butternut squash in sage butter is tender and delicious; a perennial favorite. Save room for dessert! Both semifreddo and tiramisú flavors and textures melt richly in the mouth - a fitting end to a fine meal.
