This is our special go to place for celebrations or just a quiet dinner for 2. It never disappoints! The food is beautifully prepared, the old fashioned cocktail is the best we’ve ever had anywhere. The menu changes with the seasons so choices are always new. My short rib was absolutely fantastic and the sides that came with it were delicious (mashed potatoes which were definitely freshly mashed , carrots and broccolini).

Really cool vibe. Service was perfect, letting us just hang out and catch up without a bunch of interruptions. I make very good salmon and yours was better! Thanks for a really nice evening.

The food was good enough. Better than most places. The bar was exceptional. Some of the prices were very reasonable for what it was while some were a bit crazy imo only. My husband would disagree with me and his Chilean sea bass was worth every penny. The restaurant is cute and feels private but allows for people watching. Will go again.

Waitress was terrific, helpful, attentive. Food was average . Portions very small. I think I had 10 green beans on my plate max. Best thing we had was the seafood chowder and appetizer tacos. Charcuterie was very skimpy. Two small pieces of cheese and about 7 small pieces of meat. Two people order steak both at medium temp. The New York strip was cooked to medium, the filet was cooked well done. Surprised also for a table of 6 they add a service charge. Not an upscale restaurant that you might expect for a party of six. Didn’t see it noted anywhere either. Have seen more often at upscale restaurants starting at party of 8.

We had reservations and had to wait for seating. The Chilean Sea Bass was just ok. The waitress was great. I really thought I had found a terrific place to celebrate my anniversary but it was just ok.

Went with two other couples, one who had not been before, and everything was on point. I have been there several times and always had a great time, Food, service and friendly vibe each and every time. I had the braised short ribs. Delicious!

Pricey for a mall restaurant and for the overall dining experience. I just moved here from New York and I could have gotten that meal for probably the same price, this is not New York.

We have been going to Cobalt for years, they are a fine dining restaurant with an outstanding bar! I know they have had some bumps recently that might have affected the experience of others, but the staff swung in and resolved those. Every business faces surprises at times, in this case it is the exception and not the norm. This place is committed to quality, their team is excellent, we've been satisfied customers for years now, and we will keep going back.

Only 6 menu items to choose from and they were out of two. Food portion was very very small seems like they cut one portion into two. Small place. Not enough staff or energy!

Everything was excellent! The dining room was very pretty! The food and service were great! Our first time dining here. The desserts could use some help. The chocolate cake and bread pudding were not tasty at all. But I definitely would eat dinner here again!

This place continues to be our goto for a nice meal and amazing drinks. Friends came in from NYC, and being this is our favorite spot we decided to take them. From the apps, to the drinks and main course. Always top notch. The bartender Eric is exceptional at what he does and he has an exquisite taste for his products. He even took the time to talk, sample, explain some of his tequilas and whiskeys. Amazing from the moment we walked in till we walked out. Kudos to the whole team at Cobalt. We will see you again soon!

We dine here every few months and love the chefs menu (change’s seasonally) love the food and especially the unique cocktails! Two of our guests ordered the NY Strip and it’s wasn’t good. It was tough and overcooked. That said, the waitress was delightful and offered to replace it. She got the shrimp next and it was delicious!! We still love this place and will be back.

I have dined here in the past and recalled the food and atmosphere being very good. However, while the atmosphere was still good, the menu had changed… and not for the better. We ordered cornbread to start - thought it was something different to try, but we could barely choke it down. It was so dry. I found the food selection a bit odd. I ordered the mahi mahi, which I normally love… but it was paired with a sloppy wet rice and fried okra - truly just weird. I was not a fan. My date ordered the cowboy ribeye and said it was “ok”. On a positive note, the ambiance is cute and drink selection is wonderful!

We received two menus with nothing in it, and I finally went up and got two new menus myself. Unfortunately, there were only two waitresses that night and clearly overwhelmed. Our waitress was very pleasant, but had so many other customers. It was hard to get a good customer service. My fish was good. My husbands pork was a little on the dry side. The decor is fantastic!

Our server, Sheri, (which I only know from receipt because she did not introduce herself), delivered a poor service experience. She was slow to acknowledge us and when she did her opening comments focused on her politicized opinions Re Covid, masks, etc. This was our first visit to Cobalt & she did not offer any assistance with the menu. I asked if there were any specials and received a curt “no” in response. It’s a decent menu with broad options. We ordered the corn bread appetizer, good flavor but incredibly dry. I had the crab cake sliders as an entree and they were very good with little breading. The autumn harvest salad was also very good. My wife ordered the strip steak which was cooked as requested but had little flavor. We suspect it sat around before being served as both the steak and the mashed potatoes were cool. Their specialty drink menu has some great options and they have a fully stocked bar with plenty of good options Our cocktails were very good. We sat on the patio which they’ve worked to make inviting but it does look out into the patio. Some taller shrubs / other around the perimeter would help. They have fans and heaters to help keep guests comfortable. The interior is unique, with an alligator skeleton suspended above the bar (?). We probably wouldn’t return regardless but the poor service guaranteed that Cobalt is a “one & done” for us.

Nice decor and very solid, traditional American menu gives it a ton of potential. We were there on Friday night and it wasn't all that crowded, but a lot went wrong. Our salad / Soup came before the apps (which took a considerable amount of time), side didn't come with entree. Dessert was not good. Fish was quite good and it's hard to find good seafood in STL - definitely a big plus. Excellent non-alcoholic drink menu is always appreciated. Server had a wonderful attitude, a lot just went wrong. Hopefully it was just an off night b/c I bet many feel it is a neighborhood gem!

Went here on a Tuesday. Service was outstanding especially since there was one server for the night. She did a great job. Drinks were covered by Happy Hour as was our appetizer. Crab cakes were excellent as were our entrees. We plan on returning.

The service was top notch! Crab cake and shrimp appetizers were perfect as was the Steak and Sea Bass! The Autumn Stew was actually soup and was full of fat but seasoned perfectly! The tomato soup could have been delicious if not for the excess salt! Beautiful evening to sit outside and enjoy the music and a delightful meal with a bottle of wine!

At 6:30 they were out of one of their most popular entrees- flank steak. They substituted halibut for sea bass. The chicken entree was not as described. But we had great family togetherness....and stopped by Schnucks on the way home. Culinary disappointment.
