We loved the beachy chic atmosphere and the custom cocktails, but the food was underwhelming and expensive.
Food was great and staff provided excellent customer service.
All employees were extremely pleasant. Food very flavorful. Heard there’s a new chef - she’s great. Same menu items had more flavor than in the past! Whatever she’s doing, keep it up!
Our server, Liane, did an excellent job.
Entrees we’re beautifully presented and were absolutely delicious!!
Food was average and pricey. Server was polite but delivery of food slow.
Had great time and was able to get the same table as had on the previous night right in front of the fireplace. Food delicious and the waiter was fantastic his name was Angelo and the asst. was Rashad. The Mgr. name is Joshua and he is also a jewel! Football games were going on last night so more noisy but it was exciting games so all good. Love this place and the people and food. Diane Goff
Super waiter named Angelo and he knew the wine list very well. Also Rashad was the assistant waiter and he was always there to make sure the water glasses were full and super friendly and you could tell he was always smiling even though he had to wear a mask the smile showed as he was so pleasant and friendly just like Angelo! The food excellent and my friend from NC has decided it is her favorite place on IOP. Also, the MGR, Joshua Smolik goes out of his way to make sure you are happy and get the table that you like as a regular customer. Perfect all the way around! Place is a 10 for sure ! Diane Goff
Wonderful meal and outstanding service!
Coastal Provisions is a quiet restaurant located off the lobby of the Sweetgrass Inn in the Wild Dunes Resort. The decor is attractive, and the atmosphere is 'quiet' - a nice break from places that feel like they have to have pounding music to be hip.
The service was friendly, and the food was very good. We had swordfish, gnocchi, and the ribeye. The swordfish was outstanding, the gnocchi a little too sophisticated for a child but they did not offer a 12 and under menu, and the ribeye at $52 was average. To accompany our meal, we had the crispy brussel sprouts (incredible), truffle fries (good), and mashed potatoes (average).
Our only real issue is in the value. We had three appetizers, four entrees, two glasses of wine, and two coffees for $420. While the serving sizes were on par with a high-end restaurant, to reach the $100 per person threshold requires a level of service and atmosphere that is missing at Coastal Provisions. We would also suggest a 12 and under menu, as the $27 plate of gnocchi went almost completely to waste.
If you are looking for an expensive place that is not too crowded, I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent food and service
Great food and service. Fried oysters and the fried green tomatoes are amazing.
The wait staff was fantastic and food was outstanding! Also give a big shout out to the Restaurant GM Joshua Smolik as he made the evening just perfect with every request just as expected! What a perfect dinner! Thank you !
A gem of a local spot.
It was a wonderful breakfast and experience!! Can’t wait to go again!
Excellent service and food at the resort location of Wild Dunes. Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Best fried oysters I’ve ever had - and I’m from New Orleans. The service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Great food, creatively prepared and expertly served. The fried Green tomatoes were authentically prepared with chow-chow, the Caesar salad's were ample and fresh, the oysters couldn't have been fresher, the fried Brussel sprouts were wonderfully prepared with camembert cheese and the grouper and risotto was perfectly cooked and superb.
I generally don't have high expectations for hotel restaurants, but I have been impressed by the consistent quality of the food at Coastal Provisions. Excellent she crab soup, fresh swordfish with purple cauliflower in a mildly spicy cream sauce. Wife had the sweet potato gnocchi and said it was very good.
The outside patio is wonderful in good weather. The bar area can get a bit noisy but is usually OK. The wait staff is well versed in the courses and specials but sometimes can get a bit overtaxed, slowing things down a bit.
Our server was awesome. The food was good.
Everything we tried was amazing. The staff and chef were even accommodating to the toddler we had with us and provided him some of his favorites in addition to our meal. Lovely experience and we will definitely dine again!
Everything was a 10/10. Our server was so knowledgeable & made sure everything I ordered was safe to eat for me since I have a dairy allergy and don't eat meat (do eat seafood, and it was incredible). Every dish and drink we had was amazing. They were good to my mama on her birthday. There isn't one aspect of the entire experience I would leave constructive criticism on.
My NY Strip was probably the worst steak I have ever had, it was so full of fat and $57!
I had a vodka and soda, it was so watered down, I’m not sure if they just waved the Vodka bottle over the top
My wife and I will never be back
The roasted pork chop was incredible...however, the best thing we ate all night was the cauliflower risoto. It was delightful. The swordfish au poive was also tasty. The she-crab soup was average with small amount of crab and little crab flavor. Service was very good with the servers going out of their was to find a particular type of bourbon for me. We didn't eat dessert. We mentioned it was our anniversary when we made the reservation and the only mention of it was by the attendant at the door when we check on the reservation earlier in the day.
Overall an enjoyable evening,...just not spectacular. We'll be back!
The next day, 11/7/21...
Dinner was spectacular!
Our server, LiAnn was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. The octopus was the best we've ever had and the Duck and Halibut Special we're superb. The chef knows his product, his desired outcome, and carries it off with unequaled success. We've eaten in some of the most awarded restaurants in Charleston and none of the those dishes were as composed and tasty as the food we had here in the resort.
Hats off to everyone involved! We'll be back...
Limited menu for lunch.
I visited Coastal Provisions with my daughters several weeks ago and was impressed with the food, service and of course the vibe. I brought my friends here while we are all visiting Charleston and attending a wedding. Frankly, it was disappointing. The breakfast burrito was lacking in flavor and the crab omelets exceedingly dry. There was no jam or honey for the toast which was cold. The staff was polite and solicitous so no complaints there. Hope my next visit is a better experience.
This was our wedding night dinner after eloping. The staff could not have been happier for us and were very attentive without hovering.
The food was phenomenal. I highly recommend the crab hush puppies! Everything we ate/drank was sensational. We will definitely be back.
Wonderful night, we sat outside, there were 2 weddings going on it was like a fashion show with dinner. Great night, service was excellent, as was the dinner !
Thank you !
Joe/Joseph the server was excellent.
Vermillion snapper was served in creative delicious way.
The ribeye was not a good cut. But it did have to be cooked special in a pan because my wife has a fish allergy. The server was good to point out that the fish and steak are cooked on the same grill. Therefore we asked the ribeye to be cooked in a pan because my wife as a fish allergy.
Overall was a good meal and great service.
Great food and service.
Meal and service were excellent, would highly recommend.
It was ok for resort dining, but certainly nothing to write home about.
Very enjoyable. Make sure to ask price of special so you don’t get big surprise in price
Very nice staff/waiters
The food, service everything was wonderful.
My wife and I had dinner at Coastal Sunday evening for our anniversary. The service was very good and the food was good. The highlight of the meal were the fried green tomatoes and the biscuits. My wife had the flounder (nicely prepared, but a pretty boring choice for the fish of the day) and I had the Seafood Perlou. It was just ok, the crab tasted a bit strong and the shrimp were small and overcooked. They fried oysters in it (only two) were very good. With two drinks, the aforementioned fried green tomatoes and a Caesar salad, which my wife and I shared, the check came in at $130 before tip. Like I said, it was a good, but not great dinner. I just expected a bit more for the money.
Service was great, food was good - but still felt like a hotel restaurant for the price.
Good food. Did not realize it was on a resort and in a hotel. By the pool. Service was excellent!
Diner reservations at 6:15p. Perfect time to go. Waiter was great, menu selection for Restaurant Week was good, food was exceptional. Valet parking out front was good. Nice staff.
It was a great experience, but the macaroni was somewhat bland in flavor and one plank of fish was $18. Their menu was fairly limited, but service was very good.
