Coastal Grill & Raw Bar
Coastal Grill & Raw Bar is the best new place in Port Orange to grab a bite! Open daily for lunch at 11am. Kick back and relax to live music at night in our casual environment.
Menu selection good, food good, service good but felt rushed, noise level so loud could not carry on a conversation across the table
This was our first visit for a full meal. We attended the charity opening a couple of months ago which was so crowded that we didn't get much chance to sample anything. It was kinda disorganized.
We actually prefer the old Stonewood's ambiance but Coastal seems to be drawing a bigger, more casual crowd and the food was good. Still miss some of the old Stonewood's offerings. A bit noisy but it is that kind of place and as long as you know that and are prepared for that, it is great.
I would recommend it as a casual, fun place to get great seafood.
This was our third time, oysters are best in town ($2/each) service has gotten better. I don’t like the shrimp definitely taste frozen not fresh. Very noisy atmosphere at dinner. The crackers before dinner are addictive.
We made reservations for four at six pm and were not seated for half an hour. They host and hostess were very indifferent and kept telling us we would be seated In a few minutes. I observed a couple who came in after us get seated at an open table for four. I ordered a glass of wine, my bad, I didn't specifically order a particular brand and the server brought me the most expensive selection. Too many other places around here to put up with these annoyances.
Service was very good, Our waitress Saphire could not have been nicer. The food however was not a mixed bag. Our group of four ordered different items with half being ok, the others not so much. The pulled pork was quite mushy, as if it was sitting in a crock pot for a long time. The shrimp appetizer and Costal bread were very good. The lobster sandwich was very good albeit a bit pricey at $19.00. The restaurant is nicely decorated and casual, but quite noisy. We will give it another try and se if any improvement.
Food was great! Waiter polite & courteous. Little too green and needed to know the menu, options, etc. Training needed!!!
As a big Stonewoods fan I was terribly disappointed. Bright lights, loud entertainment, loud crowd. Next time out I’ll go to Stonewoods @ LPGA Blvd. Our server was excellent so I gave 5 Stars for service but we sat down @ 6:30pm and were served @7:30pm. 2 of 3 meals sub par. Sorry for the bad write up but really disappointed.
Food was quite good. Lots of fried food choices. Only one fresh fish offering (black grouper, 6 ounces, $26), and dozen oysters were $22.
Cocktails little pricey. Service little slow, but I did enjoy my soup and lobster Mac cheese. Will stick with NSB seafood restaurants.
Food was delicious albeit a bit salty but portions were a bit small. The place was very busy and noisy.
We went here for my birthday dinner and was very impressed. The menu had a variety of options to choose from and prices to fit any budget. I would definitely recommend making reservations like we did because the restaurant is very busy. The oysters were absolutely amazing and I look forward to going back again
Service was lacking. Our Server barely visited the table, forgot part of the order and brought food to the table warm vs hot. The food although just warm was very good. I would eat here again just won’t rush back to try again.
Food is outstanding a bit pricey but it is seafood and sure tasted fresh, good portion sizes. The little cracker snack they serve at the table is like crack!!! Lots of hot sauce options on the table. I hope they don’t let quality slip as I have seen so many places do. Will definitely go back!
Great decor. Knowledgeable staff and a menu that caters to anyone. Great craft drinks and I love the fact that they do not have domestic beers by design!
Four of us ordered appetizers, filet mignon and two sides. We were shocked and disappointed that baked potatoes were not available as a side. While the steak was very good, none of us will order the steak again because baked potatoes are a natoside to filet mignon.
We all enjoyed our entrees. Pan seared scallops, ahi tuna and an ahi bowl. Service was a bit slow but it is new and also a Saturday night.
Great food and our server was excellent.
We were seated shortly after our arrival in a quiet place in the dining room. We were a party of four with a 6:15 reservation. Appetizers of ahí, conch fritters and conch chowder were all good. House salad as a substitute side is extra, but worth it. For our main course, two cedar plank salmon plates, shrimp and grits, and blackened shrimp and scallops were all good. Service was very good, however the timing for courses is a little too fast. The main course arrived before salad or appetizer was finished, and we noticed the same issue at other tables. From arrival time to drinks, appetizer, salad and main course, and bill, one hour! Two glasses of wine and three cocktails at happy hour prices total: $36!. Final tab for two with tax, $91.00, before tip. We’ll surely go back, but they need to slow down the turnover speed!
Our first visit to Coastal Grill after changing from Stonewood. It was great! The food, ambience and service was fabulous. The menu still had our favorites from Stonewood but had new and expanded items to choose from. We will definitely go back!
overall good experience, new concept needs changes, improvements.
This was my second dining experience. The service is warm and friendly , it’s the food I’m not crazy about. My heirloom carrots were swimming in garlic and the wet sauce ran into the sweet potato fries which made them taste like garlic . The grilled fish was excellent. My issue are the over seasoned sides and where’s the cornbread with the fried fish dinners ?
We were celebrating 2 birthdays, party of 5 which included 2 kids under 13 yrs old. 4 of us had the fried shrimp platter. A dozen fried shrimp, lightly breaded, not greasy and cooked perfectly. They were decent sized shrimp, not huge, but not tiny, either. The platter came with delicious come slaw, house pickles which were like cucumber salad in an Asian restaurant and a side. We had the lemon orzo asparagus which was just ok. It needed more flavor. My grandson had the fried paddock platter with fries and he loved it.
The manager stopped by our table to see how everything was and we told him about the orzo and he seemed to be genuinely interested and said he would let the chef know.
We were stuffed and happy. When asking for the check the server asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. She had seen the birthday cards on our table. She offered to bring 2 desserts on the house. The creme brulee was fabulous and we were so touched by the generous and thoughtful touch.
I had seen some not so nice reviews on this restaurant, but it's brand new and has probably been experiencing some ups and downs as they work to get everyone up to speed. Definitely give them a try. I know we will be going back for sure!
Loved the relaxed environment. Got there early enough to avoid the crowd. Menu "limited" in my view, like to see more scallops & shrimp offerings.
Fish was over done. Sent it back to the kitchen. Came backed cook fine except I ordered blacken fish and when it came back it was grilled but not blackened. Three of four plates served warm not hot. Cream brûlée’s was served cold. Only bright spot was the server. She was very pleasant
The reservation systems is by far one of the better I have seen. Arrived 5min before time and table was ready. Would like to have seen the food a little hotter when served. It was tasty and the portions were good. I miss the fact that I could not get a fish po’ boy sandwich. The Andouille Po' Boy was good.
Very good menu selections, food, and service. Great prices. When the building was remodeled, a wall between the restaurant and bar was removed, so the noise level in the restaurant is much higher than in the past. It was very distracting, but it was a Friday night, so probably busier and noisier than other times.
YIKES! New place in town...will not go back. Food was tepid, scabbed over, ribs were dry and two entrees were served on pie tins! NOISY...just a terrible experience, except for the waiter. Mngt was totally unsympathetic. You won't see me there again, and I will pass the word accordingly...I live close by.
Excellent food! The menu was diverse and beautiful atmosphere.
Really good food, presentation and service, best in Port Orange.
Food excellent, service good for a new resto wine list different but good.
Price excellent for the quality of the food.we will go back With pleasure 'thank you
Food and service was great. Had to wait 20 minutes past my reservation time for our table
Second time in 8 days. Great seafood, oysters and LOVE the bone-in pork chop!!
This was my second time eating at Coastal. I chose the Lobster Mac & Cheese both times. Had a side salad, the coastal bread, and a Margarita. This time the Margarita was not good, very bland, no salt, very little taste. I am disappointed the only bread you can get is the small garlic pieces (coastal) with extra charge. Will be returning like the atmosphere but the high top tables are not good for seniors. The Lobster Mac & Cheese is wonderful.
Very nice atmosphere...great food
Outstanding food and service
Went for a quiet good dinner, found ourselves living the gumbo and the spectacular desserts .
Excellent oysters, good fried seafood platter. Service overall was very good. Will return
very good dining experience, I like the new concept.
food an service was great!, highly recommend this eatery. Menu was diverse and our server Lee was wonderful an very attentive
We’ve been craving Charbroiled Oysters for a while so when this place’s ads popped up on Facebook we decided to take a ride and check it out.
It’s a new concept for the people who own Stonewood Grill, so I suspect some tweaks, and I have some ideas ;) but overall very good. Worth a try
Enjoyed dinner, awesome Happy Hour! Waiter was great, place was decorated beautifully.
