   The experience was incredible for my soon to be fiancé’s late birthday dinner. The environment was great, everyone was friendly, and the food was amazing. The best part of the dinner was certainly our server Reagan. He was so kind and attentive to us all evening and made everything feel so special for us. I will definitely be back and I want Reagan to serve us everytime. 5 stars for Reagan all day.

   I was very disappointed in my recent visit to Coastal (for lunch). I have been to the restaurant many times in the past and have been very happy. I have also had a great meal recently at Porch and Parlor, one of the sister restaurants, with no complaints. I found the service and certain food items at Coastal subpar this week. Our waiter was excellent - except that there were some basic slip-ups that should not happen at a high end restaurant. First, we ordered a bottle of wine. The wine was given to us and poured without offering anyone at the table to taste the bottle. Second, we asked for bread (you need to request bread in order to get it). The bread was fine but at the time the bread was brought to us, we were given bread plates which were placed on the wrong side of the place setting (right instead of left). The staff should not make these gaffs at a high end restaurant. Food issues. Most of the food was good but we was very unhappy with three dishes in particular. First, the tuna tartar appetizer was not very good. The tuna did not have any flavor of a glaze of any type (supposed to be a soy) and the balance of the ingredients was not good. Way too much cucumber and a very small amount of avocado. The dish was not very good. Second, we ordered several desserts and split them. One of the desserts was the banana fosters waffle. The "waffle" had an unpleasant consistency; was difficult to cut; and was not tasty. Because of my past good meals here, i will give it another try but this visit was substandard.

   We were there to celebrate our 54th Wedding Anniversary. The service was great, food was excellent. Highly recommend it.
