Coastal Ratings and Reviews
After accidentally deleting my original review, I'll make this one very brief.
We drove over for my wife's birthday lunch and left the car with the valet. The restaurant is on the ground floor of the Atlantic hotel, which is on the west side of A1A, a few blocks south of Sunrise.
We chose to dine outside on the covered veranda, which afforded us a terrific view of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Yes, there was traffic between the sand and us, but we overlooked that detail.
M'lady ordered Crab Cake Benedict, which she pronounced "very good". I had the Short Rib Benedict, which I proclaimed as "Delicious!" thanks to its perfectly-prepared beef.
We were supposed to have a choice between potatoes or fruit on the side, but the server did not ask for our preferences and we ended up with small bowls of fresh fruit. We realized the deficiency 5 minutes after departing.
She enjoyed a generous Bellini, and I was presented with the bar's version of a Moscow Mule, which was the best-tasting I ever had -- not too sweet.
Service was friendly and attentive; parking was free with our stamped ticket.
We promised each other that we would return.
First time at Beauty and the Feast. Beautiful ocean view, very good food. We ordered small plates so we could taste a variety on the menu. We each ordered 2 small plates and shared everything. The small plates were not that small. We had enough to eat with 4 dishes. Everything was delicious and the service was attentive. We live locally, but most customers appeared to be tourists. We are glad to have another local ocean front restaurant to enjoy. We will surely return.
Great dinner with family to celebrate a birthday and graduation. Service was great. The appetizers were wonderful. We had the crab cakes, quesidellas, eggplant. The main dishes were, short ribs, pork chop and salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We will have to go back.
Weekend menu does not apply as the restaurant has a buffet with the addition of small plates orders from the waitstaff. The food was good, as was the service. I particularly enjoyed the mac and cheese and chicken and waffles with syrup. Allow time after the brunch buffet for a stroll along the beach. You will need the exercise.
What a pleasant surprise. We had intended to eat at S3 down the street, since we were guests in the hotel at which S3 is located. But they were "booked," even though the room was almost empty when we arrived. At any rate, we found Beauty and the Feast, and what a gem! The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the lovely porch overlooking the beach was just spectacular. Thank god we didn't go to S3. When we're in Ft. Lauderdale again, we'll be back.
Seating was right on time and we enjoyed our dinner (Thursday night bbq feast). We even took some back to the hotel for lunch the next day!). What was not up to par was the service. The wait staff was fragmented, not paying attention, and generally not available. This mirrors other Open Table clients so would seem to be the norm rather than the exception. Consequently, I'd pass on this place until they resolve their service issues.
Brunch is a decent value with the unlimited drinks for only $15 extra, the wait staff keeps them flowing. Unique in that there is a buffet with salad, fruit, breads (not very fresh or special), breakfast meats, ribs, scampi muscles (very good) and then an omelet station (outstanding omelets) and carving station AND you can additionally order small plates from a menu. The meatballs, which they are supposed to be famous for, were so salty they were inedible. No one was rushed and overall an enjoyable brunch.
It was 4th of July so they were very busy. With that said...We were sat right by the door to the patio which was really annoying. Took about 30 min to get our cocktail and wine. Food came out in ample time considering. Food was outstanding! We would go back when we visit again.
You have to know that this place is a brunch mecca. There is no peace and quiet to be found here since people know this is a great deal so it attracts large groups of people who are all pretty budget conscious. The food was nice - more so the small plates than the buffet but all food was ok. We did the bottomless Mimosas and pretty much had to ask three times for our second refill and the third one came when we were ready to walk out and then also only because we asked for it again. the servers were very challenged. This was our first time here so we don't know if this is normal or if they were short staffed on the day we went. If you want a deal for brunch where the setting is nice right by the FLL beach and you get value for money, this is your place. If you want good and attentive service and are bothered by large groups dining together under the "influence" - I would not recommend this place. We had four children with us and for that it was perfect.
We were very excited to have the table side Sangria Cart. It seemed like a novelty until the waitress brought over the carafe and glasses. When asked about the cart she said " oh I don't do that".
We ordered a bunch of small plates for 5 people and the food was pretty good. We don't feel we got what we paid for. $16 for 2 scallops is not a good value when small plates are meant to be shared.
We had to ask the bus boy for the breadsticks that every other table had.
The experience left much to be desired.
Just good, not great. We were staying at the Hilton so it was just a block away and my mother was in love with the name so we had to go! Very stylish and cool decor, very amazing views as it is right across from the ocean. We had the seafood paella x 2, the clam pizza and the bee stung pizza. We also grabbed the white mussels for an appetizer, and I asked for extra bread to dip in the garlic sauce. Good food but nothing to write home about. The waiter was attentive and nice and I really have no complaints, it just wasn't amazing.
We celebrated a graduation with a party of 13, and everything was outstanding. The service was top notch managing a large crowd with ease and the food was delicious. I loved the kale salad and seafood paella. The banana bread pudding and Mississippi mud pie was to die for. Highly recommended!
we ordered a couple of small plates, the paella, and some gelatos. ALL WERE WONDERFUL!! Eric, our server, was AMAZING!! I was traveling with my mom, aunt and 4 year old little girl and he made each of us feel like a valued customer (even my 4 yr old). We sat outside, the view was perfect, the seats were comfortable. The inside was trendy and cool. My suggestion is to order every single small plate to try all of the deliciousness!! My favorites were the small plate skirt steak and the coconut gelato. My mom's favorite was the crab bisque. When we go back to Florida we will definitely go back.
We brought my mom to lunch for her birthday. Everything we ordered was delicious although it did seem to take a while to receive our food. We weren't in a rush so that didn't bother us much. It's located right on the beach so the view is fantastic. I'll definitely be back.
