Food was delicious and the service was exceptional.
Excellent service, great meal!
There was really nothing outstanding about this place. The food was "meh", the place was empty, the fish was overcooked and bland. On the plus side, however, the staff was very attentive, the portions were generous, and the view, as long as it was light outside is very nice.
Gnocchi was amazing
Great location, great food and great service. Although we always prefer a patio / outdoor table, be advised that Coastal's patio has a nice view, but its right on AIA and can be very noisy on FRI & SAT nights, so choose inside for a quiet dinner. Otherwise you just can't go wrong.
Amazing find on the beach! Specials were very very tasty.
Good food. Solid service. Personable staff. Will return.
The service was stellar and the food was fresh and prompt. We dined outside with a view of the ocean day or night. At night they offer a dj, happy hour and a wonderful drink menu. The Customer service is unmatched!!
Fantastic location with amazing views, amazing customer service and a diverse selection for all members of the family
Good food but bad service.
Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner on the most beautiful beach in the world. All staff dedicated to great service.
Made a last minute decision to dine here over this past weekend and I was blown away at the quality of food. From the grilled octopus & delicious eggplant stack to the incredible steak and lobster tail... we were both completely happy in every single way. Definitely try this place!
Party of 12 today for brunch...Amazing food, service and view. Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit.
Thank you all for a memorable experience.
Great place, only problem was that my daughter and myself got eaten up by mosquitoes! We wanted to sit outside to appreciate the ocean views... but we were getting bit left and right. James waiter was excellent. The food delicious.
Eat at your own risk - the food quality is poor at best. I had a salad - the goat cheese was spoiled. The chicken dish was soggy.
1. Avoid at all cost!
2. Replace management- no one in the food business should accept such poor quality.
The most deplorable service imaginable. To start off let me say I wanted to leave when we arrived and only one other table had diners. We ordered a drink and appetzer which was good seafood salad which came out in 5 minutes. Minutes later our waitress came to show us the desserts on a platter. Haha no we hadn’t even had a morsel of food to eat yet. I noticed that the other table had bread and requested some. This we never got but we did get was our main courses immediately with the appetizer. We told the busboy we weren’t ready and he rushed off with our dinners. We we finally were ready our food came out cold . I ordered the salmon and my husband had the gnocchi. The waitress sympathetic to our complaints offered to take the drink off the tab and give us free dessert. I declined the dessert and told her I would take a glass of wine instead. Our check arrived with 18 percent gratuity added on and the drink was never deducted from the bill. I would be amazed if this place lasts longer than a month. Terrible!!!!!! By the way we got the bread finally after 3 requests towards the end of our meal.
Here for Father’s Day. I’ve come here for all sorts of ovations. Easter, Mother’s Day, etc. Open Table doesn’t notify or remind you that the main restaurant is buffet only (not that I noticed anyway) which was 59 per adult and does not include gratuity. Yes, your offered the option to go upstairs to their other restaurant which does offer an a la carte menu but by that time, who wants to get up after being seated to go upstairs. And yes, the buffet has tons of options, and endless beers but honestly, how much can one person eat and drink? At 39 dollars, this would be a good value but at 59, its a good racket.
Get it if you can get it I guess but I won’t be coming back on special occasions.
Oh, and also, a prime rib roast should have wellness options other than just rare.
My husband, myself, and my 2 sons ate here one night of our vacation. The food and service was excellent!
The food was good, small portions. The service was horrendous. We had to get up and get our own appetizer plates. The beach views are great.
While In ft Lauderdale we actually ate here 2 nights. The homemade gnocchi was wonderful although the sauce was different each time. The kale salad, topped with fried anchovies, was really good and the greens were sliced thin so there was no cutting involved. The scallop appetizer had an amazing sauce.
The road noise can be loud as the cars/motorcycles rev their engines but sitting outside looking st the ocean is wonderful.
WOW!!! Thanks Paul C and Big 105! Great food and staff treats you like family!! Will be coming back for business and pleasure. Kudos Team Coastal!!!
The eggplant stack was excellent and the carrot cake was one of the best I had. Our main courses were very good as well. Our server Emalyn was very attentive without being intrusive.
I like Coastal after noting this this the 4th or 5th name in the last 6 years. I'll also note that I preferred the decor when it it was the EE Brasserie. In general this is a good place at a good location and I have used it to meet people and for dates. The food, drinks, wine, and service are at or above average. Otoh, the two things that restaurants trip over that seem trivial but also add something that I pay attention to are lighting and sound and Coastal trips here. The bar lighting and decor are a little light and washed out and the sound of the human voice on a busy or event night can be totally and painfully overwhelming.
We were there for mother’s days dinner, place is great with great views, now food quality and price must go side by side ... in this case it doesn’t. Overprice.
Worst dining experience of my life and. Complete waste of money. I reserved mothers day brunch 2 weeks prior which included credit card info only to receive an email the night before saying they cancelled my reservation. No reason given and no phone call. I should have known then what to expect from this kind of establishment.
Seeing it wad mothers day on day of not much options and i called they said they could fit me in even thoigh they cancelled my reservation they would do me the "favor". Needless to say food was poor quality, buffett had practically nothing on it, left there hungry after paying 160.00. The noise level also was horrific i might add. The waiter Patrick was the only good thing, he was very nice.
Great restaurant. It was a bit crazy as it was Mother's Day so their service was a bit slower than usual, but nothing I would really complain about. Definitely would go back.
Fantastic Sunday Brunch, the Bananas Foster French Toast was amazing.
Food was absolutely delicious! We came for Mother’s Day brunch. The food spread was a foodies dream! Stations for: smoked salmon, omelet, cerviche, carved meats, mussels, veggies, desserts...not to mention the small plates (see menu below)! Top that off with bottomless mimosas - and everything was SO fresh and tasty! I can’t say enough good things. Our server Lisa was the absolute BEST as well!
We had a great time. The food was delicious, and Moe was and outstanding server!
Went for an early Mother’s Day celebration. We had a great time. Good food, amazing bread, and nice location.
Everything was great. Food is excellent
Coastal is located inside the Atlantic Hotel, very beachy comfortable setting and designed, great spot to eat outdoors and people watch, the food was very good, cheese and meat plate excellent, swordfish meatballs? We were reluctant but they where excellent, good drinks and dessert, I would recommend.
Excellent service, food was flavorful, we had a large group and everything was timed perfectly! Beautiful beach views!
The food and the service was absolutely excellent. The restaurant was clean and very aesthetically pleasing and sat right across the beach. The only thing I have to say is if you sit outside, you may have to deal with the loud sounds of people on motorcycles or vehicles blaring music, but other than that, everything was spectacular!
One star is a gift. Although the food was mostly good, the level of service was comically bad.
The manager, trying to “empathize” with us, gave us a weak list of excuses for waiting for 30 minutes for our first drinks. He was “there for us” by removing the hidden 18% gratuity because we were under-served and mentioned we could add our own gratuity as we saw fit. Thank you for that, sir. Saying I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant is an understatement. Don’t go until they get their act together.
Great service. You can tell the servers love their jobs and the whole staff works as a team. Impressed with how cohesively they worked as a staff. Our seafood chowder did not have any seafood in it (bottom of the pot) and so they apologized and did not charge us for the soup. Loved the pasta- every element was perfectly cooked and well executed. Interesting desserts.
The restaurant was less than 50% occupied when we arrived for our 8:30 dinner reservations on a Friday night. Our server finally came to take our drink order after being seated for about 10’minutes. We ordered cocktails and dinner requesting bread with our meal. Our food was delivered about 10 minutes after receiving our drinks with no bread. Mean while the manager? came by checking in and we again requested bread with our meal. Neither the manager nor the waitress ever asked us for another cocktail or filled our water glasses. Our server finally brought the bread about 3/4 way though dinner. However she brought the tab - adding a 14% tip for herself. Never again would we even entertain the idea of dining at Coastal. The food was mediocre and service was poor.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a few years. It has changed names several times since I started and the price keeps going up while the novelty of the small plates keeps going down.
I wish they’d go back to what they used to be before.
We came for Sunday Brunch - were seated very quickly outside with a great view of the ocean. We got bottomless drinks and loved both the buffet brunch set up and the small tasting places (which were included in the price)!
