About

Meridia: Hapuna’s signature dining experience, formerly the Coast Grille, is a completely renovated space with a new look, new feel, new concept and new menu. Meridia’s innovative menu is inspired by the Mediterranean and infused with our island’s bounty. The fresh seasonal menu is complemented by expanded outdoor seating, a private dining room, a charcuterie and crudo bar, and house made artisanal bread nook. Curated culinary events add to Meridia’s appeal along with sunset cocktails and late night handcrafted libations.

This place will be closing soon. It is a part of the Hapuna Prince that is being demolished in the so called renovation. Heavy equipment works right to the restaurant edge. After about 5:30 it stops and the delight of a carefully crafted sunset dining experience begins. We had a very good time and some of the best poke ever.

Amazing eye level view of the long sandy beach with waves and palm trees. Great place for quiet girls catch up luncheon before all the island activities.

We've been to this restaurant many times. Our favorite item on the menu is the "Poke Your Way", where you specify how you want your poke made. Poke is a Hawaiian dish made from raw fish, typically Ahi tuna. It is a "Must Have" when visiting Hawaii. Although we came for the Poke, the monthly tasting menu for this August is outstanding, so we decided to go with it instead.

The things I like most about this restaurant...
- Outdoor dining on the patio overlooking the pool and ocean. The sunset is the best on the Island.
- Live music on the pool deck. The Hapuna has done a great job of booking fabulous artists to play every evening on the pool deck. You can hear them from anywhere on the patio of the Ocean Grille. From the first row of the patio at the Ocean Grill, you can see the artist as well.
- The friendly service. Elizabeth was our server this evening. We love Elizabeth, but the other servers we've had on other nights are great as well.
- The food. The Poke Your Way is the best. The seafood pasta is the best I have had anywhere.
The monthly tasting menus are great.
- If, like me, you have a favorite martini that is not common... the bartender here will do a great job of recreating it for you.

One note... The Hapuna Beach Prince has started a major reconstruction project, which is scheduled to complete in February 2018. The normal walkway to the Ocean Grille has been re-routed through the pool area to accommodate the construction. Although a bit inconvenient, it is out of sight and mind once you are seated, watching the fabulous sunset and listening to the beautiful Hawaiian music.

The food quality for the money was extremely disappointing, the waitress requested a tip after very poor service and we believe that a tip should be earned and that was not the case. The pork dish was tasteless and for a restaurant with some very good reviews I think that those people must have been extremely lucky.

We rode the shuttle from Mauna Kea Beach Hotel where we were staying to Hapuna Beach Hotel. Unfortunately barriers were up between the main hotel and Coast Grille for upcoming major renovations which we did not know about. We walked for what seemed like "miles" before we found the restaurant with the help of a worker who was leaving for the day. He was kind enough to guide us through the underground and long walkway outdoors. The dinner itself was tops, but we dreaded the walk back to the lobby area. Again, fortunately for us, after expressing our concern, the manager of the dining room guided us through the kitchen, back doors, through a tunnel with all the "pipes" (water, gas, etc.). We are "seniors" and all that detouring from the usual pathway was not a pleasant experience. On the plus side, the service of the management and workers were commendable.

In Hawaii on family vacation. My son ordered a seafood pasta, it literally had almost no sauce and was the tiniest order I've ever seen. My daughter had a flatbread barbecue chicken pizza which was completely average and I had two crab cakes that I didn't care for it all. The only thing good was my husband's cheeseburger. If all else fails, order a cheeseburger! We also ordered a spinach salad that had tomatoes and a tiny bit of mozzarella. Definitely not worth the price.

The restaurant was great but the hotel is super run down. Still a nice place to eat. The servers have been there along and that makes it even better.

A very average meal. The drinks were very good. The sunset was nice.

The food on the other hand was not great. 1 of 3 fish in our 'seafood trio' was over cooked. Our server was clueless. They never made comment about my birthday. The price was average for the islands, but overpriced for the quality. All and all a pretty forgettable evening. Even staying in the hotel I will not be back.

I had the seafood trio and my husband had the seafood pasta. They were both delicious and cooked to perfection. Our only complaint is that the service is slow...
