Impeccable service and cuisine!!!
In a word: Outstanding! The food was incredible and the atmosphere and view were wonderful. Such a treat for a special occasion or date night. It’s hard to leave Ocean House!
I have dined at some of finest restaurants all over the country and the experience was exceptional! The view, the service, and the 4 course meal was possibly the best yet. I would highly recommend it. John Baez
The tasting menus are charming with several surprises. They also come with paired wines for a special treat. The wine/cocktail menu requires a bit of coaching.
Valentine's Day dinner. Very pleased. The Ocean House and Coast made in very memorable. Winter is a geat time to visit due to the ease of reservations.
Everything about COAST was phenomenal. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Each course was presented with a detailed explanation as to what we were eating and where it originated from. 12 out of 10 I would recommend this place to a friend.
The service was very clumsy. We did the wine-pairing and would receive our drinks for the next course when we were still eating the course in front of us. The food was good however there was much left to be desired. I recommend just going to the bar upfront and having a drink and app. Dinner isn't worth it.
Didn’t get to eat here because they wouldn’t seat us because I was wearing jeans (dressed appropriately nonetheless). Additionally, we were guests in their sister hotel. Further, they indicated they called to confirm and remind us of the dress code but never received a message. Unless I am missing something, I don’t believe it indicates the “no jeans” policy anywhere here. Was very disappointed because we had eaten at both Spicer Mansion and Weekapaug Inn and loved both.
This is fine dining at its best. Chef Jennifer Backman is a phenomenal artist. We have followed her from Weekapaug to Spicer to COAST. The presentation, flavors and freshness are an event all by themselves. Highly recommend if you know your food and want to share a perfect evening with somebody you really care about.
Our 2 hour lunch transported us into what felt like a mini vacation....
Magnificent service! (Don’t expect candles on your dessert if you are celebrating your birthday)
I've been coming for years and have enjoyed it. This time was very disappointing as we took friends for the first time and they were not impressed. We had to find our server constantly to clear our plates from the brunch which were piled up on our table. He would clear some and leave others not returning until we called him over again. We had to find him to order our meals. It seemed he took several breaks or hid out in the kitchen, not sure. It was anything but enjoyable.
Wonderful dining experience...elegant romantic leisurely exquisite service
First time visiting this place since new name new chef new somm. Would have given 4.5 stars because they're still finding their way but optimistic that this will still be an excellent restaurant we will want to continue to visit. Flavors are less subtle than in the past and one suspects she's trying a bit too hard with the foam. However the halibut with citrus butter sauce and barely cooked garden vegetables showed flawless technique and was one of the best fish courses I have ever had. Wine pairings were hit or miss but loved the steak with Chianti and lamb with Super Tuscan. Was not a fan of vodka with oyster or Riesling with scallops and corn. Setting is still the same gorgeous room with amazing view. Loved the amount of space between tables which allowed for quiet conversation. Will be back again and hope that this new crew will continue to tweak their very good product to bring this restaurant back up to their previous status as one of the best in New England.
Quite disappointing. We drove 2 hrs to get the more and actually got there 15minutes earlier than our reservation but was seated 25minutes later! Our waitress was really nice and accommodating but she had to tend many other more guests and we had to wait for her for quite sometime to cater to our orders/needs. Needs better staffing . Seating was really tight . Orange and othe fruit juice were not freshly made but came from a concentrate, which is supposed to be No-no for upscale , more so R&C grade . No access to the beach makes it even more disappointing .
Service and quality have really dropped. I'm sorry . Just an honest observation and experience.
We had read about this restaurant from the website, but thought that it was too good to be true. But it was REAL!! Wonderful service, cannot beat the view, fabulous food and just when you think you're experience is over, there are more lovely surprises. On the way out of the restaurant, after 2 wonderful hours of enjoying, the server presented us with a menu of our meal autographed by the chef and some goodies to go. A most memorable evening!!
Always a great dining experience. Creative, modern, interesting and beautifully prepared. Service is top notch but not obsequious.
Baller dining experience.
Delightful lunch with the best view! the lobster roll was outstanding! Our server was great too.
