My friends and I were looking forward to a great meal here. Unfortunately our service was poor. We had to ask several times for water, several times for dessert menu (I ended up getting up and get one from the hostess inside), it felt like we were an inconvenience to the waiter (Sunday evening 25th of July 8pm seated outside). The only dish that was genuinely above average was the truffle pappardelle, the rest was mediocre. Sad to say but we won’t be going back.
Service was not that great. Had to ask for refills on coffee and a spoon to stir. The waitress didn't check to see how we were. Seemed too busy or just not awake. It seemed a bit fake friendly. Not genuine. Wont go back.
Food was surprisingly good. I liked the trout almandine. Large portions
I love the variety in the menu. Choices in appetizers excellent for someone that wants a smaller portion. One of my favorites for lunch or dinner. Trout Amandine, Salad Nicoise and for smaller lunch the Tuna Tartare Appetizer can't be beat.
Coast & Olive was terrific - the food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be back!
Delicious crab risotto and short rib dishes! Excellent craft cocktails! We will definitely be back!
Great good and service. Desiree waiting on us and she is wonderful!
Highly recommend the Salade Nicoise. Authentic and delicious
Coast & Olive was fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant! Our group of 4 all ordered different entrees, my wife had the Bavette Steak and I had the Short Rib, both were excellent! The others in our party had Halibut and the pork chops, and we all cleaned our plates! The brussel sprouts appetizer was also amazing! The staff was very friendly and our stay at the Inn created a perfect setting for a weekend getaway to the wonderful coastal town of Montecito!
This restaurant has a reputation of being better than our experience there last evening. My wife has eaten here in the past and it was better than my review.
My entre was served with my wife's salad not with her entre. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for my wife's entre to be served. The first time I asked what was going on after about 15 minutes the server admitted that her order had not been entered in the kitchen. A man came to the table and apologized and said her entre would be out in two minutes. After another 15 minutes I asked again what was going on. About five minutes later her entre finally arrived.
My entre salad was not very good. My wife liked her entre very much.
A man offered to comp two desserts. We had one. When the bill came they charged us $65.00. I appears that they comped more than the dessert.
It was obvious they were understaffed. A couple that had clearly been there well before us, got up and left after being ignored or forgotten for some time. Our experience was slightly different. We had to ask for our server after sitting for about ten minutes. Once we did that, it got much better. The food was really good. My mom got a Belgian waffle and ate every bite. I chose chicken and waffles and thought it was delicious. The cappuccino was just okay. I would recommend, but also suggest you go with patience and grace, and definitely it in a hurry.
Food was very good; Halibut was fabulous. Waiter Eric was exceptional. He knew what to say; what to do; and when to pour.
Gavin was great as were the other two young people helping our table. The Wagyu steak was amazing, the salmon was awesome, the risotto was cooked perfectly, the pappardelle was very flavorful and the ravioli was nice. The drinks were had were very tasty and the German chocolate cheesecake was so creative and a favorite of the table. We were seated outside as requested, but the hostess suggested outdoor seating because of the indoor noise level. Overall a great dinner was had.
Excellent food and outside dining experience! Our family enjoyed it.
Had lunch here with my sister while on a road trip along the coast. It was delicious! We shared the dip duo - both were really good! Liked that the artichoke dip was more veggies than cheese and still very good. For our entree we shared the filet mignon sandwich, which was perfect. Would definitely recommend and/or eat there again. Service was fast and friendly as well.
They were very short staffed so everything took forever and our drinks were not up to usual standards. If they fix the staffing shortage it would likely be much better
Food was really yummy! The service could be improved. We were served our appetizers and waited 10 min for flatware and napkins. I booked an outdoor table and the host was trying to sit us inside. We would go back for a 2nd try.
Excellent place to celebrate an anniversary 👍🏻
Unfortunately the staff seemed overwhelmed. Lots of them rushing around with one thing in their hands, yet the service was terrible. I had to ask someone to come over so I could ask for my waiter to order, while the next table that came 15 minutes after me had been served. Someone asked if I wanted more popcorn, I said no, yet someone brought me another bowl of popcorn. No one took the menus from my table after I ordered and the crab risotto was not what I had been expecting - way too much cream and richness. I ordered a side of grilled broccolini because that was the only vegetable they had except carrots. It came mostly burnt, yet the stems were not sufficiently cooked. Decided to go elsewhere for dessert and coffee.
The menu was interesting and seemed thoughtfully curated however the food was really mediocre. The drinks were great. Great atmosphere; they need to up their food game.
The service was incredible SLOW. I ask for a napkin 3 times and never got one. We needed an umbrella and that took time. The place was not that busy but everything took way too long. Won't take my guest there again. Thank you.
Excellent service. Good cocktails. But for the price, the food was so-so. Ordered two Wagyu steaks rare/medium rare and they were well done. Crab risotto was ok. Appetizers were very good, particularly the grilled artichoke special. Great atmosphere. Just a little disappointed with the food, particularly at that price point.
I have eaten brunch and dinner at Coast and Olive and both meals were really great.
What a wonderful addition to Coast Village road!
The outdoor dining is very pleasant and the service was excellent. However, the meal was simply too rich. I enjoy rich food but not when everything on the table is bathed in one sauce or another. Crispy Brussels spouts don't need a puree especially when served with too much balsamaic. My truffle pappardelle was very tasty but should be served as a side dish. My husband's grilled beef was served raw which he regretted not sending back but thought it wouldn't be worth the effort. And my friend's braised short ribs were OK but nothing more (again, too fussy). But the grilled white shrimp salad was very good as a shared appetizer and the chocolate tart was terrific. I will try the restaurant again in hopes they tame their menu down and not try so hard to outdo themselves - a common mistake I'm seeing too much these days.
Anthony, our waiter, very knowledgeable AND personable. We dined outside in a great setting. The food, as usual, top notch.
Food was just not up to standard, lacked focus and overall just poor execution. Overcooked pasta, undercooked beans, zero flavor. Just overall underwhelming. Salad was alright. Ambience is nice.
We had a lovely evening with good drinks, and innovative, tasty food. We had the charcuterie platter and other dishes, all excellent. Service was spot on and it was a relaxing spot to catch up with friends. Will be back!
The service was great. Complimentary parking was great. The food was overpriced but the drinks were great.
Went for a birthday dinner. The reservation was changed from 4 to 3 on their end and they wouldn’t seat us outside. Inside was ridiculously loud. I asked and they kindly added a 4th chair to a 3 person table outside. The wait staff was kind and food was fine but they kept taking our silverware and not bringing any back. Also, it was a birthday and they wouldn’t bring dessert and when they did, they didn’t even light a candle. We asked multiple times and it was just bizarre. Atmosphere was fine. Food was perfectly fine but nothing special. Would definitely not recommend or return. Many better options.
Enjoyed the overall experience. We ate outside which was very pleasant. The menu had a number of good choices. My wife and I had the crispy trout which was excellent. There were a good selection of wines by the glass. We will return when we are in Santa Barbara.
Food was delicious - we especially loved the Brussels sprouts, the ahi tuna tartar, the trout, and halibut!
Our fist time here and celebrating our wedding anniversary! Escorted to a nice outside table as requested. The food was delicious, my husband had the pork chop and I hsd the spring pea and corn risotto. Both yummy! We also had mignonette half dozen oysters which had some of best flavors we’ve ever had with oysters! Then a comp peach tart desert which was also scrumptious. Only drawback was the wait staff seemed very young and inexperienced. They tried to accommodate best they could but seemed unaware and unseasoned.
Beautiful outdoor setting with great service. Nice to have cloth napkins and table cloth with high quality silver and
table settings. Such a nice change after a year of to-go boxes and plastic ware.☹️
A great place to people watch and enjoy the ambiance❣️
Food was great. Service was fairly terrible. It took a long time to get drinks. The bar was not well stocked (they could not make multiple drinks from their menu, which I only found out 20 minutes after ordering each.) They also seemed to be understaffed.
This is my favorite spot for lunch in Montecito. Fresh food and great value! Never disappoints.
Our waiter was excellent! Delicious food. Somewhat noisy for a morning breakfast-we were only people inside and kitchen was pretty active.
Fabulous food and service
We love the ambience sitting inside on the cozy seats lining the windows. Very romantic! Both the food and service were wonderful.
Food was amazing, waitress was friendly and attentive, atmosphere was great.
Setting is very nice, waitress was friendly. That is where it ended - food presentation was terrible (think a diner could have done a better job). Food quality was mediocre at best and that is generous. I knew we were in trouble when we were served a bowl of popcorn when we sat down instead of bread. We decided this was not the place to order something complex - burger and a steak. The burger bun was burnt and the patty raw, steak was almost tasteless and the salad was pathetic. Save your money - don’t eat here.
