Chef Rick and his team did a superb job tonight! Our tuna crudo appetizer was incredible as were our entrees. The service team was fantastic as we felt well served but not at all rushed. We are Saugatuck locals and have been anxiously awaiting for the summer crowds to lighten up a bit to visit Coastal 236. Gerry & Elizabeth

Wonderful time. Wonderful service. Wonderful food. We brought our toddler and they were more than accommodating and did not hamper the service or quality at all. Not our first time and certainly not our last. Couldn’t recommend enough!

The food was amazing at Coastline 236. We decided to have 4 sharing plates. Each one was the best we had ever had. The food was out in a timely manner and was beautifully presented. Even the Executive Chef took us to our table. So we felt very well taken care of and pampered.

Great coastal decor, salmon was amazing, and our server (Allissa?) was super attentive and very polite. Would like to see more menu items that appeal to a broader group of diners (no pork belly for me thank you). Overall, very nice restaurant and delicious food.

Amazing. Not even sure that word captures the experience we had, yesterday. This is our second visit in one month…to a place 45 minutes from our home in Grand Rapids. This time, we brought two friends—who are foodies. We sat outside in the garden courtyard at the back of the restaurant. There are about 8-ish tables there. It was nice to sit outside, and the servers did not neglect us. What we noticed on this visit was that the entree offerings changed. While I am not certain, it appears that their excellent chef changes up menu items based on maybe what is fresh, local, and available. What else? After sharing a couple of appetizers, we ordered four different entrees. No exaggeration to say everyone really enjoyed their choice…and we shared a bite or two with each other (as in: OMG you have to try this!). My only hope for the restaurant scene in Saugatuck is that this chef and team can keep up this foodie-perfect level of experience. Amazing.

We enjoyed sitting outside on the beautiful patio, a very peaceful setting! The food was amazing, tuna crudo, burrata & charred broccolini and Hawaiian Wahoo, all delicious garnished to perfection! Look forward to next time!

Truly exceptional food. From the appetizer (Shisitos Al Padrones) to the main courses (Diver Scallop & Foie Gras and Pork Belly Panzanella) to dessert (Bread Pudding and Creme Brulee) to the after dinner coffee and ice wine, absolutely everything was exceptional. We had the pleasure of being served by Jim, who obviously cares about providing great service. The only drawback of the whole experience is this one right here .. writing the review. Ya know, we live in Austin TX and spend summers on our yacht on Saugatuck. We travel extensively and have eaten at some of the world's premier restaurants. When I review a place, I give the best rating I can ... often 5 stars. But, when I encounter a restaurant like Coast 236, I really wish there was another category and I could give a 10 star review. Well deserved. Great job!

food and service were very good. our party of 4 enjoyed a wide variety of items and nothing disappointed. the wine list of pretty good as well. the chef's tasting with wine pairing was a hit. my only negative was on the table/chairs themselves. almost seemed a little too cafeteria for the experience.

First time enjoying Coast236, specialty drinks were excellent. The Shisito peppers had such a delicious sauce, highly recommend. Scallops also - excellent sauce and prepared perfectly. Can’t speak for dessert as we didn’t have any. Very friendly and conscientious servers. Very much enjoyed our dining experience!

We dined at Coast 236 for the first time last night and enjoyed a delicious meal. The tuna crudo and Caesar salad starters were exceptional. Two of us had the Faroe Island Salmon and the portion was generous and the taste was inspired. We will come again!!

High ratings for the items that matter most - food and service, Chef walk through was also very pleasant. Ambiance average only because even though tables are distanced outside, the restaurant next door, street patrons and the restaurant’s outdoor dining space, chatting of other patrons in area can be heard.

Excellent food, but for these prices I expect perfection. The crostini with the Caesar salad was so hard I couldn't even break it in half. Server did bring me one that was toasted and tasty, but a little limp. The salmon was superb, as was the potato/corn combo, but the purple potatoes were sadly undercooked and one was so hard I couldn't get my fork into it. On the patio on a lovely evening with very little noise--very relaxing. Wish there'd been a nice oaked chardonnay to drink by the glass, tho. I would definitely go back--much better than what I would have predicted from reading the menu, which seemed a bit limited. Didn't do dessert, because I couldn't see the point of cherry/chocolate bread pudding ruined by blueberry compote. Just no. Sometimes less is more!

We have eaten at Coast several times over the last few summers, and this meal topped all past experiences. Service was very good, seating outside in the garden was perfect on a beautiful summer evening, and the food surpassed our expectations. Recommend the bread pudding for dessert, it was excellent. Teagan was our attentive server, and we look forward to our next visit.

We had the tasting with the wine accompaniment. It was amazing! Evan, our server, was very knowledgeable and attentive. He and the chefs were very obliging of my celiac needs and adjusted the menu accordingly. Each entree and wine pairing was savored with delight.

We went to Coast 236 for our anniversary second year in a row. This restaurant focuses on excellence in flavor profile with innovation as well as unparalleled service. Definitely recommend the shishito peppers to start. The scallops and foie Gras was delicious as well as the halibut. Recommend trying all the starters as a meal.

This was our second visit. Some of us repeated our previous orders of Risotto and the Diver Scallops entree’s. Both dishes were delicious, as they were on our last visit. Others enjoyed the tuna crudo and the Walleye. Service was excellent. We definitely recommend.

Good food but not extraordinary. I expected to see more local fish. Servings are very substantial for fine dinning. This is my se de visit. Restaurant seems to always be empty. It could be that we usually have a late reservation, this time was a Sunday, and maybe the overall nature of the town. Ov a good experience.

Knockout food with subtle layers of flavors and textures that slowed down this fast eater so I could enjoy the complexity. Superb service from Jim. We sat in the rear dining room overlooking a lovely garden. This is a perfect restaurant for a dinner date or any moment worth celebration. Highly recommended if you’re in Saugatuck.
